A moment to talk about Rarity

I recently managed to get the trophy for Adept Wraith, successfully slaughtering countless survivors using only the Wraiths starting perks. It was after this moment that I took a look at my level 21 Bloodweb and noticed that although my starting perks which had rarities of uncommon and rare, were all level 1, I had the chance to unlock Insidious level 3, a very rare perk. I understand the Bloodweb to be semi-random in how it doles out items and perks, but shouldn't a perk of uncommon or rare show up a little more often than a very rare like Insidious, that wound up appearing 3 times whereas the other appeared none? It's a minor grievance and one that I'm not gonna lose any sleep over, but one that certainly raised my eyebrows.

I don't think you understand what "random" means if you think something should show up more often.
    It wouldn't be "random".

  • We're talking percentages. An item/perk with low rarity should show up more often than one with high rarity. I've played enough dungeon crawlers to understand that concept.

  • And while I singled out the "very rare" Insidious, I also received the Spies from the Shadows perk that I bumped up to level 2, and maxed out a few rare perks. It's not that I don't think I should have received any of the non-Killer specific perks, rather that I was able to max others out before I ever got ones for my character.
