Idea for alternate game modes

Since the devs are concerned with splitting the matchmaking up if they did implement other modes. Why not just make the modes playable through special offerings. That way everyone is in the same pool for matchmaking. Maybe they could finally have a use for the artifact rarity we see in the store filter.

What other game modes do you have in mind?

Entity's spy mode: At the beginning of a match, one person will be selected at random to be the killer. All players will appear as a random survivor in their roster when the match begins, including the killer. When you are the entity's spy, you have no terror radius and cannot be revealed by perks or items. Once you encounter a survivor as a killer, you can give them the 'Entitys blessing' or reveal yourself as the killer and chase normally. When you give a survivor 'Entitys blessing', the next time you down them, they are teleported to a random spot on the map and become the killer, players will have the entitys spy power when they become a killer. When playing killer, if you hook survivors at least 2 times, any survivor you chase will get the 'Entitys blessing'. When a survivor is downed in this scenario, all other survivors will lose the 'Entitys blessing' and the downed survivor will follow the normal role swap. When changing from killer to survivor, you will teleport to a random locarion as a random survivor in your roster. You will have a single perk loadout for all survivors, each perk, item, and addon you have unlocked carrys over to this mode. Your items, addons, and perks are shared between all survivors in this mode. Your perks are shared between all killers. Addons will carried over to this mode to be used by a singular killer. You will have individual loadout for each killer just like in the base game. Any item, addon, offering used will be burned or used in all ingame modes, so using them in one mode will take it from all mode loadouts as the deduction will carry over.

I've said it in a couple posts before but that was a while back so I'll say it again here:

I think they should have something similar to the "Arcade" that they have in Overwatch. There's the main game available for people to play, but in the arcade section there's a bunch of different alternate game mods (such as one that switches your character every time you die, IIRC.) They even have a rotating game mode in there I believe.

I would love to see something like that. Though at some point the core game play loop we have right now is going to become stale. I really hope they shake things up with stuff like what you suggested.

I'd like to see a killer vs killer mode. Kind of like a fighting game. Probably not gonna happen but it's hilarious to think about.

We Are Legion: 4v1 but all players start looking like survivors with baseball bats. Game rules as normal except:

    1. Survivors can attack and down each other, but are permanently broken and cannot heal. All survivors including the disguised Legion can repair generators and perform all other survivor functions.
    2. A survivor who downs a survivor who is not the disguised Legion loses one hook state. The player will not know. If this happens when the survivor is on death hook state, the Entity takes him as sacrifice.
    3. The bleed out timer is 60 seconds. Instead of dying, a person who has bled out spawns across the map as a random new survivor, at full health but carrying over their hook state counter.
    4. The Legion player mechanics: activating Feral Frenzy dons the Legion mask, heals one health state, and goes into 1st person. Feral Frenzy works as normal except duration is increased by 50% and misses/stuns/2nd hits do not cancel Feral Frenzy. A Feral Frenzy hit on a survivor injured before this instance of Feral Frenzy was activated downs them. Feral Frenzy pauses on picking up a hooked survivor.
    5. On hook or Feral Frenzy exhaustion, the Legion player is moved across the map and transforms into a random different survivor.
    6. Attacking Legion in Legion form as a survivor involves a short, cancel-able windup for a power hit. Legion has a counterattack ability with a 2 second cooldown in which he/she can interrupt the attack and stab. A successful attack will slow Legion to non-Feral Frenzy running speed. A second successful attack will down them.
    7. Legion cannot bleed out and die until all generators are complete. A Legion who bleeds out before then spawns across the map as a new survivor.
    8. Survivors must kill Legion in order to escape if more than one survivor remains. If there is only one true survivor remaining, they can open the exit gates to escape if all gens are repaired. There is no hatch.
    9. KWF and solo players only.

Bill Overbeck's Nightmare: 4v1 with all players starting as survivors, one must be Bill. Game rules as normal except

    1. One player starts with a zombie bite. There is no visual indicator of this for anyone.
    2. Generators require cooperation to progress. With four survivors, 3 must be on a gen to repair. With 3, two must be on a gen. With two, both survivors must be repairing the same generator.
    3. After 30 seconds the bitten player is transformed immediately into a zombie. This killer moves at 105% and has no terror radius or red stain. They have no perks, but can hear each survivor's heartbeat (they have the TR instead). Entirely m1, except if the lunge attack is held down, this goes into a grab in which the killer and survivor perform simultaneous and increasingly difficult identical skill checks. If the killer fails before the survivor, the survivor escapes and the killer is stunned for 4 seconds. If the survivor fails, they are bitten. 30 seconds later they also turn into a zombie killer with the same abilities.
    4. Survivors can be downed and sacrificed as normal. Escape conditions are the same.
    5. KWF, SWF, and solo queue
