Re-open hatch? DBD
Was playing a game as killer last night and was doing insanely well they only repaired 1 gen while I hooked 3 survivors in the basement. The last guy was injured running around the middle of map until I found him and downed him easily and he didnβt struggle because I was just fooling on his team so I walked him all the way back to the basement only to see the black lock at the very top of the basement stairs. Okay cool so I put him on the ground (in the basement no where near the top of the basement stairs) and decided to get a few extra points by booting the door shut. Iβm not a noob and understand he had adrenaline to be able to get up for the exit gates than being activated. He than ran to the top of the basement stairs where I took a swing at him and missed and he just instantly jumped right into the black lock that I had just closed 5 seconds ago. Now let me ask you this...he started with a toolbox and MAYBE potentialy found a key in a chest to βre-openβ the lock but I donβt understand how there wasnβt some extra animation to use the key or to flip the lock open he literally instantly went into it as if I never had closed it. I was trying to string together the odds of having adrenaline with the lock being on top of basement stairs and finding the key last second to open it almost seemed impossible with no extra animations to open the lock. For all the work I did that game it was a huge screw you to see that happen and I think if the killer closes the lock a situation like that should never ever happen. Well an explanation at this point from someone of high intelligence would be nice but lesson learned...just hook them

Well I guess I would say unlucky but that is the exact reason that killers or rather players all over the forum want keys and Moris removed. Both give uninteractive advantages.
The first survivor the uses a key to open the hatch escapes simultaneously with the opening action. The others after they have the normal jumping animation. But I could be wrong about that.

You should of just hooked them

He probably picked up a key from another survivor that you sacrificed in the basement. Just hook the survivor if the hatch is that close. You would have had enough time to close it afterwards.

So basically you got greedy and lost your 4k and you are upset about it...
Should have just hooked them...

Wouldnt it be also the case though that the killer found the hatch first so they have won yet the survivors have a item which allows them to escape ignoring the exit gates and the fact the hatch has been shut? This is why moris and keys are unbalanced after all.

To be fair, I only find 1-hook mori's and keys that are brought into the match as unbalanced. If you are 2 hook mori'ing people or find a key in the game via a chest then I find them perfectly fine.
Given the information from the OP post, this person brought in a toolbox, so I am going to assume he found the key. To me this was a pretty fair escape.

Thatβs what Iβm saying these survivor mains are wicked burtthurt I found the hatch first acting like I didnβt bury 3 rank 1 survivors in less than 2 minutes only for the last one to get a skeezy win like that..not really me being greedy so much as the game not being fair. Would of rather him just found the hatch before I found it and escaped like that . Everyone so hurt on these forums π

I mean you went out of your way to complain about it on the forums, to some extent you are upset. Even if its a fraction.
My main point was better described in reply to another's post.
