I miss the old Freddy...
Freddy was a lot more fun before the rework. Both as a survivor and as Freddy himself. I have been reluctant to play with him since the rework, and in general his skills and how they are implemented make less sense than before. What is your opinion on the Freddy rework? I would really like to wish the old one back!

The old Freddy sucked. Playing against him sucked because 99% of the time it was tunnel straight off the hook. New Freddy will always be better for the game.

I don't miss survivors failing 5 skill checks in a row on the same generator and I'm unable to do anything while I wait for them to fall asleep.
I don't miss survivors getting a downed survivor up because they had 7 seconds to heal them before I could interact with the downed survivor again because healing is a priority action over picking up.
I don't miss hooks basically being incredibly safe against Freddy because you had 7 seconds to do it before he could hit you.
There were fun times to be had but SERIOUS problems with his old kit. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing another killer that is similar but without all the dead falls that made Freddy his own tier of garbage.

Kinda wish some of those quirks carried over, like brief immunity from waking up, or being invisible with wall hacks and manually sleeping people.
Oh and the mori has not been the same. Invisible Freddy just ending you.

Many say that, but I don't see it that way. Old Freddy was perfect, maybe a bit unbalanced, but that was no reason to do a rework. I miss his old skills and gameplay. The new Freddy is annoying.

Despite all the gripes, OG Freddy is indeed missed. I watch old matches from maining him before any changes and wish I could play it again like wanting to play an old NES game you used to play.

This post reminds me of the EXTREME HATE I got for saying that the Freddy rework was needed. I posted about how the rework was beneficial to the game, and I got LOADS of hate from people who were saying it will ruin the fun of Freddy and that he's completely viable in the state he's in atm.

ah you wanted the E tier freddy back aka the worst killer in the game?.

No, the S+ tier, but okay.

I completely disagree. Pulling people into the dream world was a cool mechanic, but it gave survivors 7 seconds of invincibility. Nothing more frustrating than chasing a survivor to an open exit and knowing there's not a damn thing you can do about it until they're asleep. 😠

Anyone who played him with his addons knows they could have dropped that down to 3 seconds and not needed to rework him. That part of playing him was indded not the fun part, but his auras and map awareness was unmatched and I enjoyed his playstyle tremendously and dont care for the way it is now with setting traps while chasing at loops and teleporting, I do that on Hag

he was fun. he wasn't good but he wasn't worst. i enjoyed playing him mostly.
however imo his rework is so much better. he has physical map pressure now, movement skills, can end chases. it's truly wonderful.
i dont want him back. he had his time, it was good, and now he's gone and new freddy is more fun for both sides imo.
as survivor theres no 50% slowdown and the braindead "im gonna sit on this gen for 5 seconds waiting for a skillcheck then sprint burst away" and as killer you can hit people you see.
please dont bring old freddy back.

To each their own, but I think the new Freddy has the best anti loop and map pressure mechanics out of all of the killers. Being able to throw down dream snares and teleport to any generator is damn powerful! Any perks used on the new Freddy is just gravy as he really doesn't need anything to help put pressure on survivors.

It is not about if he is stronger now or prior, obviously he is stronger now. It is about playstyle, he doesnt play the same at all, I started playing Hag and havent looked back. Despite him being one of my fave horror icons, the playstyle just isnt for me.

I miss him too. He was actually strong in the right hands, mindset, and playstyle (CONSTANT target juggling, always aiming to keep 2+ survivors asleep at any one time even if it means abandoning a chase to re-sleep someone who got woken up) and he had some fun build variety.
Sadly most people would tunnel one survivor to death at a time with him and conclude Freddy sucked. It was the worst way to play him too.
I want a killer that plays like Classic Freddy but isn't as BS to play against though.

Exactly, he was very fun to play and it was very satisfying winning with him.
As i said in another discussion, they can add an option that makes you switch to his old power

Yeah, I haven't been playing him as much since the rework. I would've preferred them buffing his old playstyle into viability rather than reworking him into what he is. Of course he's powerful now, but.. I dunno, just seems like a better clown w/TP and slowdown.

Old Freddy was far from good, and I used to main him.
Old Freddy had way too many issues to be remotely considered good and his power literally allowed him to hurt survivors, in what world is that good? Hell in mid-dream transition you had to hope that RNGesus would save you and hope that the survivor doesn’t get a skillcheck. New Freddy is healthier than Old Freddy
