details on "start game uncollapse"?
I was really intrigued when the devs mentioned the "start game" phase on the 4th anniversary stream. Is there any more info on that yet?

can you atleast say if it will be paired with the graphics update or will it be its own big thing? im sure since its a massive change to game flow its no easy task so its probably its own thing. can you tell im trying to get more info? Is it working?

Thanks! Is there a current roadmap doc / slide publicly available so I can continue to shiver with anticipation at upcoming features?
The current roadmap page on the site is this past year's roadmap: https://deadbydaylight.com/en/roadmap
EDIT: never mind. From other forum posts it sounds like the roadmap is coming in the next month or so.

Any chance at us seeing a minor change sooner to make early game exist even if it is only temporary? Like the small change with clown which presumably will have greater changes at a later date.

No official information, but maybe watch this video. They could implement something similar:

cool suggestion! The "4 meter" limitation especially would help with griefing, since otherwise the killer could face into a corner, or survivors could hide forever. Killer could still grief somewhat by playing nurse and blinking out the exit, or hiding really well with Wraith or Michael or Insidious. Having it automatically time out after a certain amount of time would fix those cases, though.
Variants I'd also like to see are:
- Per-survivor: Each survivor doesn't repair at full speed until they've been chased.
- Scaling with chase time: The longer a survivor is chased, the faster they repair, up to 100%. A survivor whose been hit / grabbed repairs at full speed regardless of how long they've been chased. This could be combined with per-survivor, or just be global.
- Hex totems don't spawn until start phase ends. This would be crucial, as otherwise start phase encourages survivors to do totems first and THEN engage the killer. This would not be compatible with the per-survivor option, unless it's tied to the number of survivors who have left start phase

Yes more crutches for Killers... Killers that can snowball become stronger. Add in the egc and every killer should 4k each match. This discounts Moris and ultra addons which are frequently run. If this doesn't work everyone can start slugged?

We have no idea what it even is yet but no need for that to get in the way of a pointless tantrum ofc

I'm reacting to the video and the suggestion. Infinite tier 3 myers getting all his stalk up loves these ideas.

does running from Tier 1 Myers / hidden Ghostface count as a chase? You're right, though, my "scaling with chase" suggestion wouldn't be compatible with some killers.

I stating this based on the video and what other have stated. He could stalk from a distance and not be in "chase". WE have all seen if either side can exploit something to their advantage they will.

Could easily be fixed by making it so if the killer uses their power on a survivor it counts.

The suggestions are just that, and the video is just another suggestion, not anything connected to bvhr. I don't see them removing any ability to do gens and letting killers use their powers as much as they like at the same time. It's most likely something to mitigate survivors spawning separately and having multiple gens go off as the first survivor goes down for the first time, which would help slower/weaker killers and probably be good for the health of the game overall, but that's just my guess - we don't know what it is yet.

That then would probably be one of the things that will be changed. Introduction of EGC also changed piggy for that concern

It's just statistically there is no need and the devs have put out data multiple times showing it's not. We've known, even before the EGC, which itself was a massive killer buff, the average kill rate per game was ~2.5. Even in red ranks. They're doing this because of meta killer whining that's not based on any data, nothing more.

I highly doubt it's gonna be something that unilaterally benefits killers.
I'm having a hard time guessing what it will be, though, which is why I'm so curious about it.

EGC wasn't implemented to buff killers, it was put in because survivors refused to leave matches when they'd won.

I don't know exactly where they want to go with this. Before the map reworks, I could see why there could be a need for this. But after that and if they finish reworking the other maps, I don't see an issue in the early game. The first couple of gens will go fast, but I normally end the trial with a couple of gens left, sometimes one. It seems perfectly reasonable to me. I guess we'll see.

Massive killer buff
lol

I’m dreading this. Some killers need help, I agree but imagine this with killers that already have high pressure (Spirit, Nurse, Oni, Hillbilly) It’s only going to guarantee them 4K’s every match.

You can't say that for sure. What if -just theoretically- the early game change blocked all generators AND disabled ALL killer abilities for a few minutes so that the early game becomes a hide and seek game against basic M1 killers?
Just an example.

Would be cool
Devs will never add a feature that makes killer life's easier, they care too much about survs :)

it's been over a year. is it closer yet? 😀

You necro'ing this post and seeing a Dev responded gave me hope that light was finally shed on it. Why did you do this?
