Voice is literally cheating: change my mind

Having a group of 3 or 4 survivors all in voice is cheating for sure.

The game is not balanced for voice and is made for solo survivors.

Voice 100% exploits/counters the killer and drastically supplements skill requirements.

I think even 2 duo teams together in their separate groups is OP.

People are always going to cheat so I recommend a simple solution.

Gen times should be increased for every grouped member by 50% per.

coms wont make a rank 20 group a sweat squad that you cant beat

if anything, coms are the least of your worries against a swf

It's definitely cheating, but can they stuff it back into pandoras box?

    The answer is no.

Camping and tunnellig are legal. Having comms to say "yeah, leave me this guy is not going to leave" is the counter to that. It also has 0 effect on the actual chase and the skils involved.

If anything I do WORSE in SWF with comms.

Guess the party system that microsoft and sony made for the consoles to talk to friends is cheating

Using a third party program to gain an advantage in game is cheating, yes.

I'm sure if I loaded up cheat engine and it showed me the aura of every survivor and how complete generators were at all times then I'd get banned for cheating. Yet mysteriously, SWF which gives this information is developer supported.

Survivor mains will come and yell about it "I just wanna play with my friends" but it's still cheating no matter how you dress it up. Killer should be allowed to use cheat engine to show survivor auras at all times if survivors are allowed to use comms.

In fact, yes, voice communication is very powerful, but you have to accept it, this game dies if they start banning that.

The devs say it's not cheating so it's not. House rules apply here.

    Voice chat is allowed.

You can go on DbD's official Discord servers and there are special sections where you can create and join a SWF.

Voice chat is literally not cheating beceause it's literally within the rules.

No need to change your mind.

You must have missed the Xbox 360 days, where people would get into comms just to be able to communicate and get an edge over the opposing side.

This is nothing new. You can't block people from communicating over the internet. We'd be right back at skype or phone calls if this wasn't so convenient nowadays.

It's not cheating, because the devs say it isn't cheating. Does it break what they set out with the game? Sure. But again, devs are okay with it. Thus, not cheating/exploit.

It's not cheating. If they put swf into the game then it's not cheating.

Maybe because the efficiency hamperes your ability to gain emblems and hokding a conversation while playing is harder than the OP will let on.

And again. MECHANICAL SKILL. I also have to turn my party chat volume down to near zero so i can hear the damn game over others! If I can't run a killer, then SWF comms won't matter that much.

Calm down, or stop insulting people. Part of the reason people use SWF is because of certain killers and their playstyles.

I've even started streaming my matches from time to time and it's harder for me to commentate what I'm doing and have fun with it. I need to concentrate when playing survivor and SWF hinders that.

just unite them get your own 4 man squad if u cant beat EM join EM. is what i did. but i dont complain TAHT MUCH, i play the game i just play freddy with sweaty builds and i win almsot every time and DOC and some other killers when i have rituals... but not for try harding. anyway if u are ON STEAM check their profiles if they are FRIENDS then leave or bring a mori or just play the game sweating is what it is.

It's insanly powerfull but you can't really do anything about it.

What do you want? That they ban every survivor if they notice a popular chat program like discord is open? Tons of people who aren't using it for voice chat would be banned too.

And you can't make the game harder for swf cause not all swf uses voice chat

Just deal with it, it's part of the game now

It's allowed and endorsed, not just in DBD but on the gaming industry level. So it's kind of irrelevant if you think it's cheating, as no sane developer in the world would ever try to interfere with it or discourage it even if they shared your opinion. There have been games that have interfered with private party chats, like certain Call of Duty games in the most "tactical" game mode the game has to offer, but that's to encourage people to talk to and work together with their entire team instead of just the one friend they're queued up with.

But considering you seriously proposed 240 seconds/charges per generators for a 4man party I think you should just find another game to play. Even if we ignore that I'm pretty confident in saying in-match mechanical nerfs/handicaps will NEVER EVER happen, if they did the numbers you'd actually get would probably be 1/10th of what you proposed.

It's basically cheating, because information is key. Telling your teammates the killer is on you or telling them where the ruin totem is, both would be impossible for solo q's. That would be the same if you playing counterstrike and one of your friends spectates the game and tells you where the enemies are.

That's why I said it 1000 times and will say it again:

The only way to balance the game is to implement voice chat by default and then REBALANCE everything around it.

It's cheating, sure. But I'd venture to say that most of the community cheats. Raising your brightness level is cheating and most players I know have tinkered with the gamma settings.

There's also people who use points for huntress' axes, etc.

There's all forms of cheating and voice coms is just one of a long list that majority of the community does.
