Please turn the dial up on VIOLENCE and horror by a factor of 10.
I enjoy the thrill of a scary video game and what there is to be had in this game. I know the PC version of this game and the existence of a console version. I've always felt the PC version should be "The directors cut". Where the devs put in the darkest gore and violence into this game. You know. "The stuff that makes the game truly controversial".
Looking forward to a future release ideas that were shelved because they were just too gruesome😎

Absolutely not.

Gore does not equal horror.
I LOVE the SAW franchise, but it doesn't scare me in the slightest. Even with traps that have people having their faces blown apart by a shotgun. Wolf Creek, though, with it's realistic premise and relatability scares me on a deeper level.

The blob is pretty scary. Have I mentioned it enough in my posts? Lets add orange mass that creep and leap while gliding across the floor to dead by doom the demon hunting game

Somebody already said it, but gore definitely doesn't mean that a game is automatically scary.
I'm also just gonna say this and I might repeat it in the future but...anything they add to make this game "scary", you would enjoy for about a week and then QUICKLY start to hate it. Horror in a video game is about removing a sense of control in a situation, making you feel helpless, or surprising you in such a way that it completely changes your experience and feeling. In a multiplayer game, you'll be experiencing it over and over on the daily, and this kind of horror will wear off FAST. It will go from scary to tedious real quick, because removing control from a player in a multiplayer game is boring and not fun.

No matter what you do, you will eventually become accustomed to it, why bother? Even if it became a gore fest, after a 50 games or so, you won’t even pay attention to it asthetically, you would just take notice if it was impeding your gameplay or not~

Dread equals horror. Gore is just a cherry on top.

This.
The scariest games, at least that I've played, are all about some sort of sensory deprivation. Can't see? Can't fight back? Can't run? That's scary. DbD can't really incorporate any of those things.

No matter what, you’ll become desensitized to it. This game starts off scary for a lot of people but then, once you’re used to it, it’s no longer scary apart from the occasional jump scare.

As ninja said, Dread equals horror. Excessive gore is how you get games banned in certain countries.

What horror? We could remove Terror radius and Red stain but add a Jumpscare violin chord once Killer hits you out of surprise, that'd probably the best modern "horror" addition, lol.

I just want more gore. Horror never works in multiplayer games anyway.
Also, some people find gore as "scary". My gf is such, she sees a simple cut with a knife in a movie and she covers her eyes due to blood and stuff. Mean while Im here eating some fast food and watching guy being ripped aparat and sitting himself and thinking "could use a bit more gore".
DBD for me is extremely... Low on any kind of bloody content, even call of duty has more gore than dbd... .

well I think something with jump scares would be kind of nice. How about a much bigger map that is much more dark. O_-

I wouldn't mind seeing more blood textures since it does have horror icons in it. Maybe see where the blood is coming from, like a gash would be nice.

I mean i deffinately feel there are some things that could be done in the future to increase the horror factor without taking away from gameplay.
despite having 1500 hrs in the game almost, i still feel a sense of dread when my timers about to run out on a reverse bear trap, when a myers gets t3 and then suddenly a player dissapears from the game (mori'ed) whilst im on the other side of the map, showing me.. oh its instant death. or a stealth killer on a good map/or when a killer slow walks past your locker and then looks directly at you before either moving on or pulling you out.
things can be done to increase the sense of dread without making the game seem bs. simply giving killers tools to do so in a fair way is key.
Ironically enough one of the biggest and most impactful changes is the endgame collapse, whilst people have learned to play around it and optomise their time by keeping the exit gates closed until last second, i've still had some last second escapes here or there due to an early opening that have that sense of dread that impact of oh ######### if i don't outplay him here, im going to die. on the other hand i've also had killers constantly bloodlust me around a pallet to prevent me escaping and just to run out the timer which is the complete opposite feeling.

I personally prefer the way DbD handles gore and violence. It shows it happening but it doesn't actually do the gore part. I like it this way.
I don't really want to see someone's stomach or heart for the 203295423456th time because of the nature of the game and it's repetitiveness.
With the level of gore the game has right now not only is it way easier to advertise and #########, it's not desensitizing as hell.

What makes for an amazing horror game is the SUSPENSE. Which I enjoy. and I am sure the rest of the thrill seekers here, that watch horror movies. If I watch a horror movie. It puts me back in my seat a bit, when the GORE and suspense occurs. Like. With Dead By Daylight I first got my suspense from the game, when the killer never actually knew where I was, then BBQ and Nurses calling sort of ruined it for me. I think what makes for a "good" game is lighting and "the deed" of the killer.
The issue with re-works is. People bought this game for what it is NOW. Which means it would need a NEW mode added in. So it keeps all sides happy. I guess maybe having killers start to drag players on the ground would be something to add. Or how about the ability to always be able to MORI a player as a "rage meter" builds.
Or how about the exploration of the ECG meter that STARTS the moment the match is engaged. With the ticking clock at 60 minutes. I mean we all have talked about the Ranking system not meaning too much, but how about the timer having less time on it.
Suggestions :-)...
