probably stop playing if anime chapters come before iconic horrors...
i play this game because of the horror/slasher vibe, i love how we have myers, bubba, freddy etc. but honestly will be hugely disappointed if we get an anime over Alien, pinhead, jason, candyman or any type of werewolf or vampire... i already dislike all the comedic outfits and how lack luster the horror theme gets because rushing gens becomes easy. when i play survivor i want to see those iconic characters, its a huge selling point of this game and is the huge reason i still play for 3+years

Next chapter is now gonna be "Rise of the Otaku" and there's gonna be ######### waifu body pillows, ramen, catchy theme songs and Killer fan service (pun DOUBLE intended) and its gonna be all your god damn fault because you had to post this ######### on the forums. Thanks for that.

How would anime fit in DBD? 🧐 It’s a totally different style so it confuses me how that would look. And I feel like adding anime would just change overall feel of the game. I hope that never happens.

if you guys actually kept up to date you would see the devs are looking into it because of their survey. im just saying if they do im out, i didnt play this game 3+ years putting up with toxic behavior to lose the aspect of the game i actually enjoy. A HORROR game containing iconic characters that have been spoke about through the ages and never put into a game

Yeah I really hope they added it in that survey question just because it is a popular medium and not because they actually consider an anime license..
Comics and Books are already hard but may be possible (though most fitting I know of have a movie adaption) but anime or manga style clashes way too much with the DbD style

Big oof to insult me cause I poke a little bit of fun. Also I dont think your taking into account how culturally relevant and important anime is to eastern cultures. Also you do know there is quite a bit of horror anime out there. hell one of the most famous asian horror icons started out as a manga, that horror icon being Sadako from Ringu or as america knows it The Ring.

There’s enough anime games out there & they can always make more. Bringing anime into a horror game that features iconic slashers would just be weird as hell. Imagine Michael Myers chasing after friggin Naruto or some sh*t lmao. It’s an exaggeration but no thanks.

not as iconic as Alien, jason or even a werewolf or vampire and no anime ever will be that huge, they arent a big thing and dont fit in to DBD. not to mention theyre often over the top and contain schoolgirls. all im saying is i play this game for the actual horror and iconic horror, and i dont see any sort of comparison between the two. i dont want things to be based on sexuality, how hot characters etc. but instead the dark and twisted lore that surrounds horror and its iconic characters, its what sold this game to me not because it tries to fit everything in a single title.

Again, anime doesn't mean it has to be some famous protagonist in a shonen, it also doesnt mean they're going to drop in some shell shaded character, just that that character is more relevant and famous in a different culture than the western world. I have no doubt that if a characterr from an anime or manga will get the dbd style treatment. example, Spirit and Oni. Both killers obviously eastern inspired

Sometimes, people give wink/nudge responses because, ideally, a community gathered around a shared interest can relate and joke with each other. Anyway, yeah, I get what you're saying, it's pretty ######### sweet that I can finally play as some of my all time Horror favs, something that adolescent me would have never imagined possible and it fuxking rocks but Horror is a widely diverse and versatile genre with many facets. Fears are as numerous as the number of media they are conveyed through and anime is no exception. Now, I'm not gonna be someone who tries to win you over to anything else, that's for you to decide, but the fact is that scary comes in all kinds of flavors and for better or worse this game has compiled a hell of a collection and I'm personally looking forward to what else lurks in the shadows.

again you're refusing to think about any culture besides your own. Guess what, a lot of the famous characters that have been put into the game are not nearly as recognized in other countries. You are also not the only one who plays this game.

many people think that Alien wouldn’t fit at all and that Demogorgon was a mistake to add. And a franchise doesn’t have to be on the same level as those to be considered.
i just think the translation of the art style from anime to DbD wouldn’t work well, but considering that the Ring girl originated from an anime sheds a new light on this. Darkness and twisted lore can still be there independent of anime, sexuality or hotness.

Yep, now that I was able to think a bit, both the gudge and the ring were inspired by a manga book called Spiral. It's a super creepy manga that inspired a lot of the anime/japanese horror genre.

dbd is full of weebs, im not being funny but do you not see every feng use the bunny ears, or killers using the mascot outfits or even spirit in a schoolgirl outfit... not to mention the over sexual drawings, if that aint weeby i dunno what is mate haha. i for one wont support anime alongside the iconic horror icons and i know many others wont.

But how would they implement it? Would it be a realistic style? I dunno. When I think of anime & DBD coming together, it just doesn’t seem like the right fit. Like imagine explaining to someone about this game featuring iconic slashers. And then all of a sudden, “oh and you can play this character from this anime.” It just seems so random and out of place 🤔

Yeah this game has a dark and gritty nature usually not captured by many comics and anime, there are exceptions. But I have to admit I find that most anime would not fit into the lore or the style. Also most comics would not fit into the lore or the style.
I am a fan of anime and dark comics, some of the best stuff out there is anime/manga but it just feels to 'cartoony' for DBD.
I mean you could imagine them adapting say a shinigami type character with a deathnote type survivor, but the spikey hair and angular art of anime would have to be completely reworked to fit with the dbd aesthetic and that's hard to do if you are under license.

whats iconic to you might not be iconic to others. Is the demogorgon truly iconic? stranger things hasnt even been out that long so can you really classify it as iconic?

Well, if it is a horror anime it wouldn’t feel that out of place. mentioning Myers, Freddy and Demo can seem weird as well but it actually works well in DbD

Please add a Death Note Killer who just has to type out people's names to mori them, but he's just an unarmed guy so the survivors can just punch him and take his notebook.
Imagine the pog moments, as I sweat profusely trying to type "Hex: Devour Booty" before they run over and punch me in the face.

Trapper is basically Jason. Candyman was never so famous like Freddy or Myers, he is more like in the Hellraiser tier and i never saw any of this movies, because they have abysmal ratings (except for the first one).
They should consider Dracula or Jekyll & Hyde.

No, Silent hill and Resident Evil while produced in japan have a realistic art style. Same with stuff like Ju-on and Grudge. Anime stylistically just....doesn't fit into a game like this. Not only that but the amount of iconic <---if you can even call it that, horror characters in Anime is pretty much non existent. Horror just....isn't really done in anime unless its a spoof off of some other genre that already exists. And a lot of it is so unknown, nobody would even know ######### they were looking at.
But man....if we could get the grudge and all that clicking and throat gargling....dude.... I'd buy that entire pack and skins so fast it'd look like sonic the hedgehog stole a credit card....

Too niche...nobody knows who these characters are. Sure shows out there that border on horror exist like Parasyte and the like but....nobody knows who the hell these people even are. They have less notoriety than B list horror villains in movies....More people have seen or know what sharknado is than know anything about horror animes....
