The wraith addons are insane
So everyone told me not to play the wraith because he was terrible and this and that, but I had a quest so I was like all right whatever time to just play what I was told is like one of the worst killers and get it over with. Fast forward like 7 hours and 35 levels and he's my highest level killer other than Leatherface.
But here's why I'm posting this discussion. Everyone said the race was terrible but I'm pretty sure I just found my favorite add-on in the entire dead by daylight system. So I unfortunately do not remember it was called because noob here but I was paired against like two reds and two greens and I killed everyone but one of them and almost killed the fourth one but he hit the hatch with his sprint right as I popped him once. I had these two add-ons one of them, It made it so when I was stealth I moved like 400 miles an hour, but the really really good one that I liked a lot was this crazy add-on that I thankfully used a black hand for I'm glad I did, that like highlighted the generator auras depending on their progress. That with the movement speed I was like maximum pressure from the very first time they decided to touch one of the generators.
I'm a noob. But how is that not the single best add-on in the entire game? It's like the legion perk but always on and regardless of how many people are working on it, mixed with BBQ but not chili because while I can't see the people as soon as I hook someone I can turn around and be like okay let's see that one right there there's someone working on it or at least someone was.
So again, am I just completely inexperienced and being stupid here? Because that sure feels to me like the most powerful add-on in the game.

You probably used a Purple Windstorm and a All Seeing Spirit.

Wraith main myself, I believe he is underrated. He is pretty powerful when you master him, I even use him in the red ranks.

This seems like you used "Windstorm"- Blood (purple tier) and "All-Seeing" Spirit.
But that's the issue with Wraith; he relies heavily on add-ons to do well. Imagine if you'd played this game with worse or no add-ons, how would the match have gone for you then? He's fun, don't get me wrong, love the cutie, but he needs those add-ons to remain semi-viable.

Windstorm is the speed addon. The Ultra is All Seeing-Spirit. I've actually yet to use it. I love combo of Coxcombed Clapper (makes your bell silent). And The Ghost-Soot (suppresses your terro radius for 6 seconds after you uncloak). His addons are honestly fantastic. They can change his playstyle so much.

Wraith's base power without add-ons is pretty bad. Wraith becomes decent with the right add-ons which is why people say he's weak.

Completely disagree. You can easily get by on his yellow addons. Yes, you won't be as strong. But that's generally true of most killers.

I mean it's pretty easy to assume that you have more experience than I do as I certainly don't have very much but I really didn't have many problems leveling him up either. Now I suppose there's also that bonus so I didn't go through as many games to get to the level I am that I probably could have but I really like him. I mean that add-on is something else but I really like just the invisibility and stuff. I definitely annoys me how slow he appears but I also recognize that's important for balance, and I've come across a couple of those add-ons as well. The first time I played it I felt that he was underrated The first time I used that add-on I was like yeah, this dude is really underrated. Plus those purples are so common at higher trees too.

Keep an eye out for his Swift Hunt addons. They cut down on his reappearance time. Not substantially. But they are nice. If I'm play more seriously I like his purple Swift Hunt and Windstorm addons.

ik you can get by on yellow add-ons, but that takes a whole lot more game knowledge/sense, and time put into wraith to learn his ins and outs. plus, he needs add-ons in general- if like, yellow windstorm became base he'd be so much stronger already.
wraith is definitely underrated, 3000%, love him, yes please. but just because he's underrated doesn't mean he's that good. yellow add-ons make him semi-viable at rank 1, at least from my own experience, and without them you have to hope for gideon or rank 8 survivors.
oh yeah, those purples are pretty common lol. but that doesnt change that without add-ons in general, he ain't all too good.
personally, i reccommend you either stack double "Windstorm" (i think you hit 175% speed whilst cloaked but i havent done the maths on it), "Windstorm" and the rare "Blind Warrior" (which applies sloppy butcher on a surprise attack), or "Windstorm" and "Swift Hunt", which decreases the time to uncloak and lets you get hits faster.
he's good, keep playing him mate. become the biggest brain wraith main the world has ever seen.

The God-tier add-ons are purple windstorm and the purple add-on that allows you to see all auras within 12m when stealthed. The latter essentially eliminates the ability for anyone to be stealthy or lose you at a jungle gym. Purple windstorm means you can hit, stealth, get in front of the surv, and un-stealth (in much less time than it would take to similar chase un-stealthed).
If you are P3 and curate your black ward, purple windstorm and purple aura-seeing add-ons corrrectly, with BBQ you will be able to run both purples almost every single match (maybe occasionally using the green windstorm or purple re-appearing add-ons if there is a bad run of bloodwebs).

I get you. I just feel like he's not as addon dependent as people believe. Fyi double Winstorms Bring his cloaked speed to 162%. And as a side note, it's stupid fun to zip around the map like that.
1 -
Ah, 162%, thanks. I remember a Tru3 video once where he claimed PWYF took him to 190% and I couldn't remember the values for that perk so I guessed it'd be 5% per stack lol. He could've been wrong about the 190 thing tho too.
He's not high tier add-on dependent, but I would say he does need add-ons to do well. Yellows boost his kit by so much, and purples are godly lol.
Also double windstorm + PWYF at 3 stacks is the most fun thing to do as killer. It's almost as fun as getting that 4th head on stun of the game.

Wraith is VERY underestimated by survivors, so if you know how to capitalize on that you'll do well.
My favorite addons are Coxcombed Clapper and Shadow Dance.
My perks are - Nurses Calling, BBQ, Devour Hope, Discordance.

Np. I've never used PWYF on him. But it would be damn fun.

i think 'wraith being the weakest' is a dogma
anything humans touch they create dogmas about it, and dont even dare to question their dogmas because they will go mad and furious at you
wraith is actually one of the strongest killers, is cringe how people call him the weakest, pathethic, and they call the nurse the strongest, ha, nurse is very powerful but shes super slow (96% speed, cant chase survivors normally because shes slower than them)
so no way
wraith has no terror ratius, which that alone makes him extremely powerful to find survivors, also not only that but hes invisible, also not only that but also while invisible he has a speed of 126%, the fastest killer
so when it comes to find survivors hes the strongest, he can find survivors very easily
the main power of the survivors is not escape, is actually hide, because once a killer founds you he/she is above you
hes very very powerful, i think the wraith, the hag i think, myers and leatherface are among the strongests killers
i dont play with wraith much because i only play with female characters though

some people may be like 'uSe SpInE ChIlL' well i think all it takes, although im not fully sure, to make spine chill useless is to approach a generator while looking in another direction
so if the wraith approachs a generator while looking in another direction, that is running to his left side, i think that makes spine chill completely useless

Wraith is the golden child of addon reliant killers. Ghostface studied under him before he was released.

“But how is that not the single best add-on in the entire game?”
Because at the end of the day it’s still just a Wraith. If a top tier killer has these add ons it would be scary but wraith isn’t exactly a powerhouse.
