will 'Deliverance' Perk help with 'Escape Artist' trophy?

So I only have two (Escape Artist, Where did they go?) survivor trophies to achieve (not including the new ones for Adam Francis).

I spent a lot of blood points unlocking the teachable version of Deliverance and then buying the tier 1 version for my main survivor. I equipped the tier 1 Deliverance, got in a match, unhooked a survivor, got hooked, unhooked myself using the perk, everyone died, I escaped through the hatch.... but no trophy.

I am wondering if this will even work, and if it will, how specifically? Did I do something wrong? Do I need the tier 3? Will it not work towards the trophy?

Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

    For the escape artist achievement, I believe that you need to escape via the exit gate.

    I wish they would specify this better cause I just did the Ancestor's Rite trophy with a hatch escape and still didn't get the trophy.

    Doesn't have to be an exit gate escape. You can escape via the hatch as long as the gates are powered.
