MORE Hillbilly Changes coming? Or just an addon functionality rework?
With the current changes on Bubba and Hillbilly, there are lots of new addons coming to the game, all of them... well... fairly interesting, to say the least. Now I don't plan on complaining about how bad or broken they may be. However, there's something about few of them that made me real suspicious.
Two of the new addons for Hillbilly currently tested on the PTB basically refer to character lore or the teachable perk Lightborn:
Now it's not hard to realize that these two fall out of line quite a bit compared to the others. In fact, there currently is no other Killer addon in the whole game, which does not effect the Killer's power or is effected by it in some sort of way. And why would there be?
EDIT: There might be one barely used addon of that category, the Wraith's "The Hound" - Soot (see below), but that also simply doesn't fulfill the intended purpose of addons, which is following.
They are meant to add on to the Killer's power:
Now I don't want to be nitpicking for this is not the point of concern. As a matter of fact, I've always liked relations to character lore with perks and stuff.
Nonetheless, the question remains: Do the devs intend to expand the functionality of Killer addons, so that they are no more restricted to the power only? Or - and that'd be quite alarming in my opinion - are they not done yet with the Hillbilly rework and they are in fact planning on further modifying his power to work more in line with the character lore?
I honestly hope to see a plausible answer to that, and may it just be a mistake with the actual functionality of addons from the side of the devs. Cause if it's not and Billy is gonna be changed even more, oh boy, I fear that hell breaks loose...

Yeah, wondering that as well. Would save this thought for the Q&A. But still I'm not sure how I feel about that. On one hand it's kinda inconsistent on the idea of AddOns beeing Power-AddOns on the other hand it allows for Perklike features that mike be too unbalanced if they were available on all killer, but are totally fine and interesting on those. But to be honest these two are bad example for that.

Wraith has an add-on that is straight-up just Bloodhound without the increased bloodpool duration.

Yes but at least that one is effecting her power since it only activates while cloaked

Not according to the add-on description:
Fresh Blood Marks are considerably more discernible than normal.

Good point. Haven't actually tested it, so I'm not entirely sure whether the description is right. However, addons without effects on the Killer's power are usually an exception. Adding two green addons like that seems rather unusual to me and I could imagine there is more in the planning...
EDIT: Seems like the description from the gamepedia page is not correct. Therefore Billy's new addons really are kind of special.

Oooh... Just imagine a Hag that gets additional dull totems due to addons. That'd be kind of neat.
But yeah, teachable perks are among the first things to shape the identity of a new character. So they better fit them well. With addons on the other hand... Well, i guess they could potentially fulfill the same purpose - as long as they are not unnecessarily complicated or situational. I think they gave Bubba a new addon with same effects as old Franklin's Demise, just for chainsaw downs. They even cut the section with the item durability loss (which was the more annonying part imo). If they release simple addons like that, which also suit the playstyle of the respective killer, I'm totally fine with it. Provided those are not your only options.

The first two words in the description are "while cloaked" so how is that not according to the description?

My mistake. As it turns out, the description on the DBD gameapedia page is inaccurate.

They can make an addon relate to the lore without it being T R A S H like Mother's Helpers.

Idk, can't imagine Zanshin Tactics fits Oni. Also not sure that Iron Maiden fits Legion all that well, either. And I know the name of Coulrophobia fits the Clown, but I'm not entirely sure that the effect does.

Speaking of a killer's perks that have synergy with their respective power, I have come to adore I'm All Ears on Ghostface.

How calm? I occasionally use it on Nurse/Huntress, didn't know it works well for Ghostface too.

Because Ghostface hides his stain and terror radius in his ability, breaking line of sight with a survivor (which a lot of times naturally occurs after a vault) allows you to ‘perfectly’ mindgame their actions when you know exactly where they are and are going and they’re not sure where the GFace is or coming from.
Its literally a panicing moment and results in tons of great plays.
Truth is it works on many killers. I use it on Legion to hit the first Feral Frenzy. Legion loses the ability to see scratches but can still see auras.
