What if Spirit couldn't hear while phasing?
Seems like a simple, unique nerf that makes both sides have to guess where a player might go. As she is now, injured sounds basically mean you just die very quickly. Thoughts?

This is just a nerf that doesnt fix the main problem of the survivor still just having to guess with no information to work with.

It wouldnt really solve her core issue except making it a guessing game for both parties thus making an unfun killer to go against and to play. No the fix she needs is to give survivors more information to work with instead taking information away from her.

She can't see survivors, nor hear them? I suppose that's a unique way of deleting a killer. . .

All Spirits would run Father’s Glasses until people complained and that got nerfed, and then nobody would play her.

it would be a very good way to slam another killer into the trashcan, probably making Freddy the only high tier killer still playable.

The point is if the spirit is phasing after the first hit a survivor have nearly no chance to not get down. Maybe with iron will but a lot of spirits run stridor, so there is no counter!
While phasing she is very fast and hear a injured survivor when he is closed, but a survivor can’t make distance cause of stretchmarks, so survivor have no counter.
Only if a survivor runs a whole perksetting for the case to go against a spirit:
a) iron will + no mither + spine chill + fixated
b) iron will + quick and quite + dance with me + lithe
Nobody runs these settings cause there are 19 more killers, which you can go against.
But to remove sounds for spirit would be a huge nerf and to much! But to give survivors a thing to know where she is doesn’t solve the problem too.
I think to increase the cooldown of phasing could be a solution, so she can’t phase every 15 seconds.

Sure, as long as her power now lasts indefinitely and gives no warning whatsoever. What use is a killer that can't see or hear anything otherwise?

This is absolutely not the way to go about changing spirit. Unless you're memeing, in which case this is a pretty good one.

So we cant hear we cant see so we have to guess that hard? That power only help survs not the killer. The killer have to guess using sound and eyes (when grass moving) without watching the surv. Sorry power is fair. If you add something like you could see a glympse of Spirit whike phasing that would lame her power

Killer powers cant be countered, if not ######### devs are doing?

No, equip Quick and Quiet, Iron Will and Dance With Me, or other perks that counter Spirit.

Maybe dont be predictable. That is the main strength of spirit. Getting rid of audio is just going to make her worse than Legion or Old Freddy.
1 -
So you want her to be the spirit of Helen Keller now??
2 -
I'm sorry but no..spirit would always lose if that happened..the nest they can do is give a subtle tell when shes phasing in tr...something you have to look for but can find..anything more and shes screwed..they already hit her once ..taking info away or giving too much destroys her..her ptb showed that very well
2 -
A better change would be that she can hear survivors effects on the environment (footsteps, rustling grass, etc) but not their grunts of pain or breath while phasing.
Making her completely deaf would be stupid.

If they did that, then she better be able to see foot steps n make being able to see blood base.

cool take away the only good indicator of where a survivor is... no
all killers should have the upper hand in a chase, taking away the sound's while phasing would kill spirit since you will miss too many of your phases and lose because you wasted you own time.
think of it like this what if nurse couldn't see survivors and tried to use her power to teleport on top of them, yea there's not much skill there and your mostly relying on the survivor to be predictable and luck both of which are horrible for the killer to rely on.
that would actually be a buff since most spirits including myself use footsteps to track survivors because it's more accurate and the grunts are not very reliable for telling distance. Getting ride of grunts will make the footsteps sound a lot clearer and make it easier to pinpoint survivors.

Just because she can hear you doesnt mean you have no chance..as someone playing on both ends of spirit I can attest to that

Every other killerpower has a counter, and I‘m not talking about „don’t get hit“ or something like that...
Nurse and huntress: break line of sight and make distance
Billy and Bubba: be near windows/pallets and not in a deadzone
Wraith: same like before + flashlights
Hag: crouch, trigger traps if she carry a surv, use flashlight
Myers: break line of sight, be near windows and pallets
Only against a spirit with stridor you have NO counter only if she’s a real potato

So, please tell me the secret? I play most of the time survivor and have 2,5k hours... I find no way to counter a good spirit at red ranks with stridor.
After the first hit you can’t make enough distance before she can phase again and so you have to decide try to hide (but she hears you) or to run (she see your stretchmarks)... you can’t wait at a pallet cause she’s to fast, she comes from the other side and that’s it...

Well here's the flaw in your judgement..1..scratch marks are delayed and unreliable..that's why spirits rely on sound to track , 2..if the spirit has stridor and you have iron you will know..because it doesnt make spirit hear you more..it actually makes you louder..if that is the case you need to abuse that as it's harder for her to gauge distance on you..double vault windows, throw pallets in front of you and double back, spirit has mere seconds to make a decision..so make use of that..dont play the pallet mind game if able..just run so you know for a fact shes phasing..its those little things that help you succeed

I'd probably only mute grunts of pain but keep other sounds like grass, breathing, footsteps etc. Since you'd have to be more precise while phasing and pay attention I'd increase the base phase duration to 7 seconds so you'd have more time to determine the direction of footsteps etc. because you lose the easiest tracking ability of Spirit.
Stridor won't delete the only counter since you can't hear grunts of Pain while phasing which makes Iron Will base against Spirit while she is phasing.
Making grunts of Pain is basically a death sentence against Spirit.
Edit: And give her some sort of tell tale when she is phasing but not where.

On one hand that feels like something that would make it just as boring for the killer as it is for the survivor.
On the other hand, short of a complete overhaul (think freddy) I don't have an idea of how to make her power interactive, so that both sides may actually feel like they're playing a real pvp game.
That said, your suggestion is better than anything i can think of so i'd support it, based on a feeling that it'd mean less people will play spirit, so you'd have to deal with her less frequently

It wouldn't help. She'd still be able to smell survivors. Especially Bill.

I'd rather have her husk glow white for a second when she begins phasing (like when a Survivor gets hit with Endurance status) instead of having to be standing right next to the husk and hope you can even tell if it's glowing or not.
That's all.
