Is Midwich the worst map they have ever made?
Its just long halls and closed off rooms. It has that fun feeling of seeing/hearing generators/survivors about 8-12m away from you, but knowing you need to walk around a good 50m just to get there - as both killer and survivor.
Also if the killer has devour hope on this map then GG.

Yes.

In terms of gameplay it takes some getting used to and even then it may feel like things are out of your control on both sides.
Visually and authentically however it is -BY FAR- the best map they've ever designed.
11 -
Ever? No. I much prefer it over the 2017 version of Gas Heaven. Place was a pallet fortress.
1 -
nothing tops haddonfield,I feel like devs at this point are just trolling the playerbase
2 -
Yes easily the worst. I'm actually impressed how the devs could create a map which makes playing on it so unenjoyable for both sides at the same time.
7 -
Visually it's one of the best, but gameplay wise it's definitely up there. I think I'm stuck between Midwich, Hawkins, Haddonfield or Ormond
2 -
I like the look of the map and atmosphere though it is confusing as it can be game play wise, I like it though feels very different from the norm
0 -
Probably one of my favorite maps they've ever made, aesthetically and game play wise.
3 -
Perhaps the best map ever visually and the general feal of it, but gameplay wise it's the worst ever.
2 -
As a Nurse main I actually like the map when it works. It's super small to the point where I can virtually be anywhere within 2 blinks and with gens being nestled away it makes Tinkerer that much more deadly too.
But it also sucks when a single pixel from the rubble in the hallway eats my blinks or the infested stuff that you can't blink through at all.
As any regular killer it sucks really bad because I don't want to give survivors another staircase but that also ######### me over too. I'm torn on it.

I really like the design of the new map but I hate to play there...
As survivor you don’t find gens, a survivor is hooked near you but you have to run cross the whole map, there are so many dead ends and you have always terrorradius.
As killer you hear a gen but you have to go miles to reach it, to many breakable walls, to many sounds on this map.
Gameplay on Midwich is just horrible.

Midwich is way worse. If for no other reason than because it sucks for both sides.

I would say yes. Its the first time I've seen a map disliked equally by both sides.
0 -
Yeah. Which is a shame, because visually its stunning.
1 -
It's horrible, it is a super small map but for having 2 floors makes it looking like a whole country and like only 2 stairs?
0 -
Thats it, its that which triggers me. Seeing a hooked survivor about 8m away through a wall but realizing you need to run 40m down a few corridors to get there.
Same as killer if you see/hear a gen/survivor.
Its like they didnt learn from Haddonfield, Badham, hawkins or grim pantry...

The giddeon meat plant is the most infuriating map ever to play. I hate it with a burning passion. Especially against stealth killers
1 -
No. Haddonfield, blood lodge, fractured cowshed and Ormond are all way worse.
1 -
I think its great personally. You have to play it different than other maps as its not loopable in the same way, it requires learning different skills.
0 -
You people even find survivors on that map?
0 -
No, that's still The Game. At least Midwich is visually fantastic.
Oh the two maps filled with nothing. I think Shelter Woods (with just a big tree in the middle) and the one with a killer shack surrounded by corn fields.

The worst map gameplay wise? Yes
The worst designed map? Nope. The map actually looks amazing but that's about it.
This map is the reason OoO is my most hated survivor perk in the game.
0 -
For gameplay yes, looks and sounds great though.

I think people just don't know how to play this map, it's the most balanced map in game in my opinion.
There are very strong loops, but if the killer breaks the walls it change the loops to be less safe.
There are no dead zone, there is a pallet in every room.
I don't understand why people don't like this map, I think they just don't know the map well
1 -
Every map back then was a pallet fortress lol
0 -
Lol definitely not the worst map they've ever made imo is Badham cause ooooh man I can loop and get looped on that map for AGES with all the loops near each other.
0 -
Not even close, give me midwich over any of the corn maps as killer
0 -
Haddonfield, Hawkins, Midwich, the Game, or Lerys. I'm sensing a theme here. I also think Badham is lowkey horrible and belongs in the worst map discussion. I'm not sure how you rework a map, make 5 versions of it, and don't actually fix any of the most glaring issues it has, but yeah...
0 -
I feel like if they pulled a Lery's and put an indicator where the gens were and opened up some more rooms then it would be just fine.

I actually have grown to love Midwich <3
It's a map that encourages rotation pressure from the killer player and has a very off putting sense as survivor, hearing a TR but having no clue where it's coming from precisely
0 -
I am ok with Midwich on survivor but just now I had an exhausting patrolling match there on killer and god, it was frustrating.
0 -
dont remind me of original blood lodge.
0 -
Personally I like Midwich and very much dislike The Game, despite them being similar. I find Midwich much easier to navigate and find pallets/loops than The Game. To this day I keep getting lost in the lower levels of The Game, unable to find any stairs and the only pallets I can find are the God Pallets near the Basement.
0 -
No. I still rank Haddonfield as the 'worse map ever.' Midwich is saved from that because it looks so damn good.
1 -
Wrong. There is a room just filled with desks and seats and no pallets or vaults.
1 -
Yeah, just one

I’d say it’s one of the least traversable maps. Getting downstairs is way easier than getting back up which can be a long walk.
makes gen patrolling harder and perks like whispers less valuable.
The thing I dislike is the noise. Lot of sound pollution in that map and the siren just hurts my ears through the headphones.
it’s not terrible I’m just not a big fan.

I dunno why people hate Midwich. I thoroughly enjoy it on both sides. Def one of my favs.
1 -
Midwhich is personally my least favorite map right now. I think I dislike it more than Haddonfield rn, because at least on Haddonfield, getting from one place to another is pretty straightforward. Whenever I'm playing killers with intel perks or abilities, it's hard for them to be too useful. Lets take Legion for example. I stab one person in feral frenzy and see more survivors on the second floor with killer instinct. There is approximately a 1% chance I will actually make it to those other people because most of the time I have no clue how to even get up to the second floor.
1 -
I'd say Hawkins.
0 -
My least favorite map as survivor, that's for sure. The Doctor and Pyramid Head on that map are a Nightmare. A good Nurse can easily wipe the floor with survivors on that map.
0 -
They just need to open up a staircase in the middle and it would be alright.
0 -
yes but haddonfield is right there with it.
0 -
I hated it at first, because l was forced to play it so much
the original design of the swamp is still my most hated map of all time, followed by the original fractured cowshed and coal tower with their infinite’s.
