Are the Devs truly happy with current base billy?

Why start the idea of using a overheat mechanic? Base billy did not need such a mechanic that limits him from using his ability. In many ways, it's smarter to juggle your m2 and m1 because many survivors will use various setups that makes your chainsaw harder to use/curve with. Infact, holding your chainsaw is what makes many mindgames and setting up yourself for zoning the survivor correctly at a tile.

The overheat mechanic is not a "minor change" on billy, and it wasn't needed. A good billy can still get stomped on by good survivors. Restricting him more would make him less viable, and even less fun, since most players actually like his chainsaw.

His addons, Thompsons Mix, Tuning Guide, and debatable the Primer Bulb, made him feel unbalanced. This is due for various reasons:

-Thompsons Mix: The charge time cancelled out the restriction of engravings and the cooldown made it incredibly easy to use the saw repeatedly.

-Tuning Guide: Making the charge time ridiculously fast and adding a small, yet noticeable cooldown, made billy easy to curve with, and punished way less often

-Primer Bulb: Although the inferior version of Tuning Guide, it still has the ridiculous charging time that made it harder to read or dodge the billlys action.

Once two of these stacked, most commonly tuning guide and thompsons mix, the billy now had an instasaw with an incredibly sliver of a cooldown, and these addons definitely needed changes.

However, engravings did not need change. The restrictions, and fast, addons it gave to the chainsaw made Hillbilly much more fun, and able to keep up with the more expert-level of survivors. Moreover, using both engravings is very restricting and the charge time is lengthy, but in return, you can curve around corners much faster or make up lost distance. Many survivors can say, he was either more scary or more fun to play against with engravings.

TLDR; Engravings did not need change, the overheat mechanic should get scrapped, and the addons that included charge time needed a rework.

I play a hefty amount of survivor, and just as much time playing m2 only curve billy. I constantly watch other hillbillies in order to improve my mindgames and flicks.

You probably never saw a Billy slugging while 5 gens are still up. This change slightly tires to fix this imbalance.

    @LetsPlayTogether

I also main billy, and it can be easy to slug at 5 gens as Any killer really. Though the conditions sometimes are: Are the Survivors grouped together? Are the Survivors playing altruistically? Did the survivors play tiles wrong that allow you to down them and go for another survivors? Did the survivor get caught at an open area?

Usually if I can 4 slug, it's due to someones poor positioning and lack of attention during a loop. Although IF makes it significantly easier to 4-slug, it's still very possible to 4 slug as any killer without it, so long as they play like they did following the conditions.

Billy only appears as one of the best sluggers because he is a great snowballer, similar to Nurse and Oni.

You may argue, "Oni earns his power", but it is easily refutable to say Oni becomes much easier than Billy because he facerides walls, flicks much easier, and can go after survivors faster than the billy. He plays loops so much easier than the Hillbilly can.

No, just no. Its pretty much easier to 4 slug with Billy than almost any other killers.

I have seen Billy slug 4 players all on different parts of the map. Once the survivors start getting up other survivors, they move closer and closer together making slugging even easier.

Oni can also slug at about the same level as Billy. He just has to get the initial buildup, after that, he just goes on a slugging frenzy.

It's also arguable that Nurse and potentially Myers has good slugging potential.

Nurse for her high mobility and no collision with walls.

And maybe Myers because of his instadown, but he's still the survivors ######### on good setups because at the end of the day, he is just an M1 killer

There are other killers that can get a good snowball going because of their abilities

Just had a Billy do it again to me. Distressing and Infectious Fright on Lery's. It's honestly a nightmare to play against.
