Spirit using stridor has no counterplay. Change my mind
You breath louder making you easier to find even if your not injured + spirits main counter (iron will) dosent work

There’s definitely a reason everyone complains about Spirit lol. There’s not a whole lot survivors can do to mind game or counter her because she’s unreadable.

"No Mither" plus "Iron Will" or "Off the Record" and "Iron Will" are counters if you REALLY want to be silent. But who would run "No Mither" or "Off the Record" over stacked second chances?

That’s part of the problem. It’s a game of chance. A gamble. There is no direct way to counter the Spirit so mind gaming is out of the picture. And most of the time, if you’re wearing a headset, you can hear exactly where the survivor is with the directional sound & know which side of the pallet they’re on.

Her phasing should be a means of getting from Point A to Point B quickly.
Her ability to hear anything should be stripped away during her phase. It'll take a bit more skill to use her but it will not drop her in Rank.
And I play Spirit.

The counter i use on her is the one i use on most killers: Not getting found, including dodge bbq. Also, even with stridor (but notice that i always run iron will anyway) you can double back most spirits, simply because they are not used to it. Like survivors, most follow the "usual" path.
But i agree that a stridor spirit is one of the hardest to juke.

I know, but this is one of the reasons why people prefer Spirit, as she is the only one that can deal with those teams
And no she is not broken. Just because you can't loop her for 5 gens, it doesn't mean that she has no counterplay

This would kill her if she got nothing else to compensate. I mean, the reason she’s considered high tier is because she can end chases quickly. Without being able to hear anything in phase she’d lose that and become a 110% killer with no chase ability.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying I think Spirit with Stridor is fine but I totally disagree that taking away her ears during phase wouldn’t affect her much. Look at how much people complain about broken sounds on every other killer - being able to hear what the survivors are doing is an important part of playing killer for a lot of people.

I'm not saying stripping the ability to see scratch marks or notifications.
Juts no grunts, whimpers or whines. Stridor should grand the ability to hear whimper and whines but it should not counter Iron Will.

But...She doesn’t have counterplay. I don’t wanna be able to loop her for 5 gens. I just wanna be able to fairly play against her & at least feel like it was a well fought match between both sides. At this rate, you get found and it’s “well I’m screwed.”

Scratch marks are bonkers, they’re completely unreliable most of the time. This change would make Spirit useless at any moderately safe pallet since she’s 110%. There’s a reason 110% killers all have anti-loop powers.
So make her totally dependent on Stridor? Making her have to equip a perk to unlock a base game mechanic would be a bit silly. I can’t think of any other killer that has to equip a perk to make their power actually useful and it’s not a road I think the devs should go down honestly.

If only sounds worked all of the time then yes.
However sounds in this game are a dice roll of 20 side dice. If you roll below 3 you get a sound.

My sound is never loud when I play dbd so i cant rely on the sound. And still i do fine playing spirit. Of course she should get buffs to compensate the nerf to remove the sound of survivors, but it wouldnt completely kill the killer because there are still Scratch marks.

Why should she be supposed to be a Wraith if we already have the Wraith?
Unlike wrairh, who cannot attack and is barely invisible, she cannot see and can attack, but has a time limit and is slower outside her ability.
We dont need a killer that is the worst of both abilities.

I just realized that Yui's perk lucky break and Iron Will are a good counter to spirit, but as you said Stridor just affects Iron Will. At least with lucky break you're able to hide your blood temporarily.

Well considering my friends and i just last night I handed a spirit her lunch with stridor and I believe only 1 of us ran iron..and before that beat one so fast she literally held the door open for us...I'm afraid I must disagree with you on this one..frankly..either your solo or you must have been very predictable

So what are you asking for? Her not to be able to hear? I've seen a lot of people say that, and personally, I think that's the dumbest solution I've heard. You make her deaf, she's now the spirit of Helen Keller when she phases, and would be absolutely useless. Spirit is the strongest killer left to deal with sWFs that can still hold her own. Just about every other killer has been either nerfed, or never had the power to keep up. Not everyone who plays killer is otz or tru3 man.

Yeah they’re horrible and only really good for general tracking, not precise tracking. I started playing with Fixated recently and it’s absurd where some of the scratch marks end up compared to how you actually path.
Why do people think so many Spirits are happy to play with Mother-Daughter Ring? Because scratch marks are not a good way to track invisible people in chase.

Yeah, it's honestly silly people say "well she can use scratch Marks" I just think to myself..ah yes, I love relying on the least reliable form of tracking in dbd for a killer that can easily be punished for a bad read or good juke

Well considering SWF breaks the game, I must disagree with you on this one. Good SWF teams will dominate any killer, except perhaps a God Nurse. This game is balanced around solo survivor, so...?

Umm, the game IS balanced around solo play. Hence: Kindred, Bond, Empathy, Aftercare, Object... basically any information perk. It was NOT designed for 4-man comms who abuse perks like DS/Unbreakable/BT. I know if SWF wasn't a thing then the game would die, but that's not what I am talking about. So you're wrong, in that respect :)

Ah I see your attempting to be toxic..ok..so..those perks were designed with the purpose of closing the gap I mentioned, especially kindred..they have said so themselves in live streams and dev updates on multiple ocassions..so no I'm not mistaken..I just did my homework first
