Every single game I've had today has been this bad
Are we ever going to get a rank fix? Like I get that I'm going to see alot of meta perks, but why does the game keep sticking me with red and purple ranks when my skill is green and lower. I really do enjoy this game but when I try my best against SWF red and purple ranks and they decide its necessary to t-bag on hatch/gate and gen-rush it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Look at your perk tiers. You're not really a level 19 killer. Matchmaking is working in this case.

I had a bunch of games in a row where I 4K'd as a Rank 13-15. After those games, I started only going up against red ranks. So essentially, MMR comes into play more than what your actual ranking shows.

Agreed, I have great perks on Deathslinger and Demogorgon from bloodwebs RNG but I'm a potato with both.

Look at their account level. They’re clearly new enough to the game to justifiably be a low rank killer, they may have just invested survivor bloodpoints into killer (I did this when I first started playing). It was also rank reset a few days ago.

He's devotion 0 level 25. Two perks are Legion's, another is a general perk and only one is a teachable from another character.
He's a real level 19.

This ^. I barely escape because I let the killer kill me if he plays fair, so after 3/4 games I play against rank 10-15 killers. I”m rank 3-4

You’re talking nonsense. You can save up survivor BP and spend it on killers. I used to do the same thing when I was new as I didn’t want to play killers without good perks. It’s like when people assume a P3 killer will be good when in reality it could be their first time playing.
Back on topic, I know it can be disheartening being paired with survivors a lot higher than your own rank, but the plus side is that it’ll make you a better killer in the long run. It’ll also make matches with your own ranks feel like a walk in the park.

See I'm not new to the game but more over I play really casually and only picked up the game again recently, I've never gotten higher than rank 14 and I'm only lvl 25 even though I've been "playing" since 2018-2019. All of my blood points are from killer as I can count the number of times I've played survivor on 2 hands (Jake is the only valid survivor). Plus prior to me leveling up legion my highest (and only leveled) killer was wraith at 29. I will admit going against a bunch of high rank players has made me better though and increased my overall game sense. (Also I'm im a she, not a he *fingerguns*)

Yeah lets ignore that he's devotion level 0, and only level 25. Perk levels are the real indicator here. Not like you can spend points you earn as survivor to get high tier perks as killer.

Devotion level. Its an indicator of how much time you've spent playing the game. It will appear under that number 25 at the top right of your screen. Beside the number 19 (that's your killer rank). The fact you have no number under the 25 shows you are devotion level 0. Which means you have not played the game much. You're legitimately a new player. Your complaint here is very valid.

OP, new matchmaking was supposed to hit last month but we haven't heard anything about it since May so, who the ######### knows.

dont worry buddy, soon you wont be able to see their ranks so you wont be able to tell if matchmaking is busted.
P.S as someone who has been privileged enough to be in a region where they tested the new matchmaking its actually kind of good. if you have a couple of bad games you will get thrown into a game where the people or person your facing is significantly lower in skill. if your doing real good then you face people way better. The system when its on is very noticeable, but overall I think makes matchmaking more bearable. of course I have no proof or confirmation that I was a player in a region where it was tested but im comfortable in saying that its very noticable when the new matchmaking system is on versus when its off and you get normal matchmaking.

What if he's a survivor main and used his BP on legion? Matchmaking is not working in this case.

Especially when he almost certainly has no - or few - teachables clogging up the bloodwebs, so ranking up the same perks is extremely fast?

hmm thats good to know, for most of us since the new ranking system announcement all we had was the announcment post which explicitly states a new "hidden ranking system" and that others ranks would be hidden from you. they might have changed there minds and failed to tell us that except through a weirdly passive aggressive sounding tweet.

Maybe thats a side effect of the new mmr matchmaking they are making, I remember when I played Starcraft 2 if I were to win several games in a row the matchmaking paired me against people who were way way better than me, I literally had 0 chance of beating them, after being mopped by them for several games it would pair me against the exact oposite, people who were super bad.
It usually worked like a rollercoaster for some games and it suddenly went to matching me against people similar to my skill level.

I still wish people would stop spending their money on skins, cosmetics and the Rift.. so that the Developers see the need to improve their game to earn back the player favor. The game got issues and by doing changes like the one they pulled with Hillbilly (both nerfing his power unnecessarily and then giving him add-ons where some add-ons literally don't have anything to do with his power), they're not.. I dunno, listening?

Rank 19 is one step from out of the gate new player. Still not buying that this guy is legitimately that new as killer. People do rank down on purpose, to beat on low rank survivors.

His account level is low and rank reset just hit. His legion is lvl 38. His tier 3 perks are Legion base perks. He's running Coulrophobia/Iron Grasp.
Why don't you buy that this guy is legitimately a new killer?
