This is getting old and needs to be addressed
All day today almost every match has gone the same. Chase the first survivor, down them pretty quick, they dc. Then find out they were a rank 20-12. Its really really boring and Im pretty sick of it.
DC penalties need to be brought back, like yesterday. I actually had someone message me and say they wont play against doc. Thats how little they care rn.
And match making needs to be fixed, i shouldnt be going up against anything less than a 10 as it is. Its been like this for at least a month so it cant just be an issue of no reds are playing. Ever. Even r10s would be a little better than thiz. Im tired of being a baby sitter.
And no, the rank disparity doesnt excuse the dc, they didnt know that when they quit

They’re baby survivors. Probably been getting wrecked all day. They go against a Doctor who dominates low ranks, a rank 1 no less and you say yourself you down them “pretty quick”.
People want to have fun. Ive seen multiple rank 1 players post screenshots like this.
The matchmaking is atrocious and I don’t blame them one bit for disconnecting.

They didnt know i was a r1 when they quit. Dont excuse their behaviour, as far as Im concerned they should be banned for a week. Theyre lucky im not the head of bhvr or tgey would be.

DC penalty buggy mess hacker got the hands on it matchmaking a mess too i feel MM should be fixed first,i mean red rank killer with rank 16 or 20 survivors red rank survivors with rank 16 or 20 killer it not right.
yes i know ranks don't matter and they don't but why is it mixed up like this should it be the color rank you are color you face.

The matchmaking is definitely messed up and not fair but as far a sin concerned why should you be forced to play a match you arent having fun in. Same applies for like a wraith on ormond that's not fun that's actually unfair. The dc penalty is good and bad. It's good because it stops dcing on first downs hit but bad when I go against stridor spirit with wakasashi and ebony.
But as I said you should be forced to play unfun matches and doc man is he annoying every doctor spams shock at loops and not actually making well placed shocks to stop your actions. Not to mention the unnecessary static blast.

A week ban? They would probably be grateful they don't have to play the game again and move on to something else. If everyone got a week ban for one DC, you might as well kiss the community goodbye.

They knew they went down fast, and they knew you were using a killer that has likely been dominating them previously.
Fact is you WERE rank 1. They could tell something is amiss and you should not have been playing against them.
I dont know why you’re so tilted and think people deserve a weeks ban for quitting. Thats so entitled. “Dear new players, you need to stay in the game and let me walk all over you or its a weeks ban” yeah theres that killer main entitlement right there. Keep that up and you’re gonna put new players off from sticking with this game.

First off I care, clearly since I made a thread. So that wasnt a smart question to ask.
Second clearly its competitive if people rage quit. If they werent competitive they wouldnt do that. Also not a smart thing to say.
Third, as someone who has been playing almost exclusively against yellow ranks for the last month I can tell you rank absolutely matters. They were never going to win this game. Its gotten to where I can hook everyone in order 3 times before they get 2 gens done. So yeah, it 100% matters.
And last, we want a game thats close. Not one where one side gets completely blown out either due to poor match making or because of poor game mechanics. Something a little more... competetitive.

They quit after getting downed once. What level of fun were they expecting to have in 30 secs? Youre never going to convince me that you ruining the experience of 4 other people because you got wrecked in one chase is ok. Thats selfish.

Im tilted because this happens almost every match for a few days now. Every once in awhile its tolerable, but its been constant since they removed the ban. Theres no excusing it. Dc you should absolutely catch a ban

I only am tempted to DC when I get awful maps. Even if I get clapped I at least get some BP out of it.

That's the good part of the dc penalty the 30 second chase DC's are punished I agree with you.

I think this is also a way to look at some of the more annoying things in game. Like against certain killer or on a certain map what had the highest chances of resulting in a DC? I know some people will just say "x is boring" as an excuse, but I do think it can give valuable data under the circumstances. Of course this is assuming BHVR isn't doing their classic only listen to the positives.

Newer players should have never been put against a rank one killer. That’s bs for both sides. Anything that happened as a result of that match making would have been no good for anyone. It’s getting really old, real fast.

Because it starts at 5 minutes compared to the week ban you would give. So you would also give a week ban if somebody had to DC due to an emergency? Sounds like the crime meets your punishment standards. You don't even need to retort with "Well, in that case, obviously no." Even when the DC penalty was working, it would still give that person a 5 minute ban. Bad internet? 5 minute ban. We obviously don't need your week ban standard for one DC. The coding can't tell the difference between emergency/power outage/bad internet/rage quit. That's why it starts at 5 minutes. It's a good way for rage quitters to take that "time out." Still don't learn from your lesson next game? 10 or 15 minute ban. So on, and so on.

OP, even if they couldn’t see your rank it is still obvious if you’re playing with others of a similar level of experience or not. They’re 13-16 ranks below you for crying out loud. Also look at your perks and look at theirs. It’s not fair and not balanced. I’m sure this was frustrating for them. I don’t blame them for DC’ing. And you shouldn’t either. Blame BHVR for their broken matchmaking system.
