Rank 1 gameplay is very easy and very boring atm is rank 1 killer and survivor and all i verse is green ranks which is making this game very boring to play as it’s to easy. If your going to introduce MMR devs at least give rank 1s a high MMR to start off with so we don’t keep getting all these low ranks because it makes there gameplay bad aswell versing rank 1s when there low green rank .

How many matches have you played? For most MMR systems, and it varies from title to title depending on how the studio designed it, it can take anywhere from 10-30 games to settle your own MMR. Until then, it's going to be a coin flip of matches.

The other issue with an MMR is when you have players that are now new to the game or returning players or players that don't play that often. The MMR algorithm is going to have to place them, and until it does it's going to bounce them around, including into your matches at times.

While an MMR system will work to get you balanced matches once it finally assigns your MMR, you're also going to continue to get coin toss matches with those whose MMR hasn't settled yet. And you're going to feel it more in a game like DbD, with only five people in a match and four being on one side, than in an even teamed 10-man MOBA or even the 12-man Overwatch. While an MMR system should be better than the old Matchmaker, it is far from the magic bullet some people think it is.

As far as assigning beginning MMR based on rank, that it would be a mistake. BHVR already stated that rank did not necessarily equal skill but rather time played. Though it could equal your skill, that was far from guaranteed. It's why they moved forward with an MMR system instead.

They already said that ranks don't mean anything, and it's not what matches you up with other players anymore.

Yeah but these are legit yellow and green ranks, you can tell by how they play. Im on xbox too and can confirm what op is saying

I’m the exact same my games are extremely boring because I keep going against rank 20 survivors who don’t play the game very much

Yes what happened? Played survivor all day (rank 1) and most killers are rank 5-20 and other survivors are rank 10-15, if I'm lucky there is another red rank survivor with me. But wow it's a disaster the killers are so bad it's insane. I feel sorry for them.

Seeing as of how it just went live on Xbox, I'd give it a week or two and see how things look then. It no doubt needs to compare how you play to how others on Xbox play before things get ironed out.

See, that's exactly it. He might have played all day and have a settled MMR, but there is zero doubt that a lot of players likely have not, and do not, yet.

A week is actually way too fast. The MMR system just came in, and it's going to take around a month for it to start settling a lot of players, enough to consistently work with, unless a majority don't work or something and can play DbD all day.

The first 4-6 weeks of this MMR system hitting a platform are going to be rough.
