What the plan for SWF IN MMR

so maybe this is already a discussion... but whats the plan for how to calculate the new matching plan with swf groups with either 2 or 4 friends? Thanks for all the input. Be safe out there and good luck in the fog.

The easiest solution would be to average the MMR scores of the group and then match them to other players with a similar mmr.

100 & 10 swf duo would get matched up with 55 mmr solos & killer.

You'd want to weight it so that it matches higher than the average, since the more perceptive survivors can make up for the lack of awareness of the less attentive ones by just telling them things. Have the scaling get greater the more survivors are in a SWF group. Say, 60/40 for 2, 75/25 for 3, and 90/10 for 4, just because the additional communication also makes things easier.

The best solution is to use a neural network and put in all relevant information about all players including which players are in an swf that then returns an estimated measurement of the expected results, such as the estimated variance between high and low scores in the game. Then select players that appropriate optimize that measurement.

    @SpaceCoconut ,@dugman , @Huntar.

That's what I was thinking I just hope it actually works, nothing worse then playing an opponent that is clueless on how to play because matching was so broken.

Also as a new fan of your content space, that ######### is funny and im a a "dirty" survivor main 😋😜. Lol take care yall.

Considering how it's at least supposed to work for ranks, I'd imagine it'll be similar and matches off the highest MMR. If not that some sort of average or average + a little bit extra on top of that.

I’m going to have to say it will be highest MMR rating. That’s how SWF match makes now I think. You could have a rank 1 with 3 rank 20s and it could be easily abused. Although an average is a good idea, you can exploit the system by having newer friends and it’s likely that the rank 1 would be able to run the killer around the entire game.

The MMR system is for fairness and it isn’t exactly fair for the killer to be matched with someone so high above their skill level. You could say the same for the other 3 rank 20s if the MMR was based on the highest score but they chose to go as a coordinated team, the killer didn’t have a choice.

If they want to do it RIGHT, they can NOT have it be an average of everyone in the party.

They would need to matchmake based on the highest MMR in the party. That's the only way for it to be fair.

And before you chime in and say "how is that fair for the lower skilled survivors?" - you have no ground there. Survivors make the choice to create an SWF party. Killers have no choice. Therefore, a lower level killer who didn't get to choose shouldn't be punished.

Period, end of story, any other answer is fundamentally wrong.

    This guy gets it.

Oh dont worry, im sure the red rank swf can still queue up with their rank 20 teammate and get a new killer to bully still.

Too easy for the better player and too hard for the worst one.

That aside, the benefits a good player bring are a lot stronger than the negatives a bad player do so it should be weighted towards the better killer. A poor player, in the least, occupies time; a valuable resource in this game and something a good player can easily take advantage of. If Bad Player A is popping a gen across the map, the killer most likely is going to start making their way there, leaving Good Player B enough time to finish their gen and move onto the next one.

If you go the fully equal way of it as you describe, I think the only way to potentially balance it to be a decent game would be to make it so SWF groups can't run perks from survivors they aren't playing with currently. That may be enough of a punishment that your better skill and awareness, checks, etc. offset that you're playing against a killer at half your skill level.

They should just take the highest MMR and put them with a killer who is around there. If people want to SWF, it should be a challenge, not an easy win.

An SWF needs a multiplier to their MMR score. As an example, solo uses simple MMR*1, duo sum of their MMR*1.1, trio sum of their MMR*1.3, 4 man sum of their MMR*1.4, maybe even 1.5.

Values are simple examples, duos are fine, trio and quad is where the issue start to be noticeable.

Swf SHOULD always be matched against stronger opponents due then having more information, preparation and coordination available than solo players.

I fully expect bhvr MMR to fail just like dedicated servers, current matchmaking, sounds, etc... these guys just aren’t good at anything aside from making cosmetics

For killers, after they changed the matchmaking to matchmake with the highest rank it killed any chance of me playing with my friends that were rank 10+.

There is not really a difference between SWF or not. There will, like currently or in the past, almost never be games only consisting of equal ranks/ratings. So it doesn't matter if you are in SWF or not, there needs to be an approach how to handle the mismatch. SWF just allows higher mismatches than the average or the expected maximum

Which would be bad for the same reason it is bad currently. Because it draws a lot more higher ranked killers into purely high rank matches (as it should) but also into every mixed lobby that only contains a single higher ranked survivor. Meaning you need an excessively higher number of high ranked killers to fit all the pure high ranks and the mixed lobbies.

New matchmaking is only a killer nerf in disguise. While survivors can choose we have to be random maybe u can plague vs a team full of medkits or maybe u can be legion vs medkit team.I would like both have same rule.Once in lobby no one can change the items
