Spirit using stridor has no counterplay. Change my mind

Buts that's the counter to the boring trio spirits, deathslinger, PH. That's what people say to do split up get the gens done. They need to rework those three give em counterplay then add the statt game collapse.
Also the spirit bias is big. It's not even the fact we want to.run the killer for 5 gens. You cant run a good nurse for 5 gens you can definitely counter her. Mixing in pallets loops and jukes can outplay her.
In spirits case she is a broken braindead killer that requires barely any time to learn her and having a good headset. If you have stridor she definitely has no counterplay and for you to deny that it makes it obvious that you dont play survivor, and probably never went against a good spirit if I can even say that with how little skill she takes.
It's honestly mind boggling how the devs let her into dbd oh yeah I forgot the devs have been ignoring the survivor side when creating killers and its evident through spirit, slinger and Ph.

Stand still see what they so if they leave phase towards them.

How would you need iron will? That doesnt even make sense.
0 -
No crap Sherlock dont use some snarky remark that anyone who played long enough understands
0 -
I actually only use one second chance as survivor and that's DH, because i'm trash at loops sometimes. My other perks are: "Autodidact", " Bond" and "Inner Strength". :D

A stridor spirit claiming spirit to be balanced. If you werent on ps4 I'd ask you to hop in a kyf with my friend who's a spirit main and run him.

that's wrong
A straw man (or strawman) is a form of argument and an informal fallacy of having the impression of refuting an argument, meanwhile the proper idea of argument under discussion was not addressed or properly refuted.[1] One who engages in this fallacy is said to be "attacking a straw man".
The typical straw man argument creates the illusion of having completely refuted or defeated an opponent's proposition through the covert replacement of it with a different proposition (i.e., "stand up a straw man") and the subsequent refutation of that false argument ("knock down a straw man") instead of the opponent's proposition.[2][3] Straw man arguments have been used throughout history in polemical debate, particularly regarding highly charged emotional subjects.
a strawman, involves changing the argument of someone else to make it easier to "defeat"
I'll just use the wikipedia example
A: We should relax the laws on beer.
B: No, any society with unrestricted access to intoxicants loses its work ethic and goes only for immediate gratification.
what...I forgot the name... is doing, is called whataboutism
Whataboutism, also known as whataboutery, is a variant of the tu quoque logical fallacy that attempts to discredit an opponent's position by charging them with hypocrisy without directly refuting or disproving their argument.
which is when someone goes "X is an issue" and someone answers "But what about Y?" but X and Y have no correlation

I usually end up with DH or sprint burst, self care, botany, ds or DH, self-care, Resilience, Spine chill for the big loops
1 -
DH ends up bugging out far too often for me.
Autodidact, Solidarity, Blood Pact and Spine Chill
Blood pact is more for the 2 way info than for the haste. Not that the haste doesn't help, I've been saved by it a small handful of times. But I'm not running it for that.

No mither and iron will don't stack you'll only get 50% if spirit has stridor
0 -
At loops, Spirit does to survivors what survivors do to all the other killers. naturally, they're big mad when it happens to them. and then use another Autohaven/Haddonfield offering against a wraith and conclude that they're skilled.

Kinda had this idea with another person on forums, if you REALLY wanna nerf spirit in anyway, keep everything the same as she is but don’t make sounds directional. This is only a concept.

even without stridor she has no counterplay. Stidor isnt supposed to make survivors breathing silent. Thats a bug. Idk why people think spirit needs stridor. Its a waste of a perk slot in my opinion. Id rather run anything else than stridor. Its confusing as hell when they dont have iron will and hard to pinpoint their location. I just listen for footsteps to be honest
0 -
They do. Just like the spoon and stridor stack in nurse.
0 -
They definitely do though.
85/15 killer main here.
Spirit is BS. SWF can be overwhelming, but definitely not impossible. All you need to be good as Spirit is a pair of OK headphones.
0 -
She has counterplay. Even with stridor. But you definitely need to learn the game.
0 -
What? Did you even read my post? Can you comprehend sentence structure? I'm a killer main bro. I used to main spirit. She does not need strider! I can wipe any team but the actual smart swf teams with stacked second chance perks and bad rng without stridor. Iron will cant even save them and imo she has no counterplay. Its guesswork by survivors. Shes in control 99% of the time. Survivors try to loop, stand still and wait for them to get out of position. Every once in a while actually phase immediately to get it planted in their head that you do phase sometimes. That's when they panic and are forced to guess.

It’s my personal opinion on Spirit. Don’t he defensive.
0 -
Not really. People just want a killer that has simple counterplay. Not everyones playstyle is to be aggressive and loop "infinites" anymore.
0 -
Spirit is broken bc she has information to use against you and the survivor has zip. She needs to give off more hints to where she is.
0 -
Played spirit. Almost never lost. With pop I was nearly unbeatable and I run tiles like garbage as killer. So by your definition she was absolutely broken when I played her. I love her but she's boring when you win effortlessly every match.
0 -
Your playing bad players..its that simple..kills mean nothing in a system where speed limiter bubba can win 30 games in a row
0 -
Spirit players malding when you call them out on what is objectively bad design
4 -
And your personal opinion is wrong but you do you.
1 -
PLEASE explain your reasoning for this because i would absolutely love to hear why you think a 4man team with second chance perks is totally uncounterable (spoiler alert its not)
0 -
You know what has no counterplay? And wrecks every killer in this game? Spine chill. Change my mind because you cant. Literally no counter besides walking backwards as a stealth killer
1 -
What do you say about countering Hag and Freddy? To countering The Hag you need a tournament team. One runner, another one will disarm the traps, as soon as she set them, and two more genrushers. Otherwise, she will hit on every triggered trap, if she can. And you can't run Freddy forever because he will knock you off the timings and punch through the window/pallet with his broken lunge.
Survivors don't know anything about Spirit. If you are really standing still against her, I have nothing to say. Perhaps you should think about where she will go, listen to her footsteps and pay attention when she activates her ability. If player use spatial sound, you just need to dodge first phase in the save place.

Object of Obsession much better against Spirit.

It doesn't have a counter.

As a Spirit main I'm going to say this! The purpose of Spirit is to trick survivor's! Survivor's rely way too damn much on information and are use to having the advantage in chase/loop that they can't stand not having that advantage. I personally believe that Spirit is in a good spot with the way the current balance and meta of survivor's! I do play other killer's but I mostly play Spirit once I hit red ranks because I don't wanna deal with loop after loop after loop (which is why I find majority of the killer roaster boring because they have to rely on the same tactic)
As of addressing OP! When BHVR decides to fix sounds that are breaking every other patch, you won't see many of her player's using Stridor. I can't speak for Spirit's with Stridor because I learned Spirit without Stridor and I've trained myself to listen for survivor footsteps and grass moving!
I understand how survivor's feel about Spirit, but Spirit is being used as intended and I myself can't come up with a way to change her without butchering her and making her unfun or without defeating the purpose of Spirit! She's meant to trick survivor's, so that lack of 'interaction' was intended for her, but if BHVR does do something about it than all she has to do is hide her husk and we are back to square 1

I just listen for footsteps to be honest. And I'm Spirit main, bro. Not killer or survivor main. Spirit also gives information about her actions. Drop a pallet on her face when she's phasing if you're scared phase shift hits.
1 -
its called playing well. gen rushing doesnt exist :)
2 -
Hurr duur you must only play bad players for months and months consistently. Hurr durr r...this is the most idiotic counter argument you could possibly make. Sorry but you just need to accept some players can play broken killers optimally and just bc YOU can't doesnt mean we're somehow playing against all the bad players and you're somehow getting the best. Purely idiotic lol.
0 -
Are you kidding me. The killer main base defended God tier nurses for how long bc "most ppl cant play her!! As if you had to be god tier to be boosted af as nurse back when she was very popular to learn and play.

Why did you quote me instead of the guy I quoted?
But to answer your question, you need iron will to have a chance against a "decent" spirit who uses headphones.
The pin point positioning via sound is just... Too much for version her. That's why people hate playing against spirit, as there isn't much input a survivor player can do against that killer, as her overall kit is quite forgiving, that's why he said IW is quite required to have any chance against her... Then comes stridor.

Solution: Fix Iron Will and Stridor interaction.
Make it multiplicative instead of additive. So even with Stridor, Iron Will will reduce sounds to 0%
Now Spirits will have to predict too, instead LMB to the direction of crying sound.

I'm 70/30 surv/huntress main. Spirit always was a bane of my life, I hated her with passion... until I unlocked her (to take a vengeance on her and force other people to hate her too). My survival rate against Spirit went up a lot and I rarely die to her from that point.
Now, since I totally suck at looping, I'll take her as an opponent over any other killer in the game. It's easier to make her lose you in chase than other killers as long as you're not hard pressed on looping. Don't stand near dropped pallets and try to guess if she's using her power. If you see her standing near pallet just force her to phase by going out of her LOS and silently backpedal from there or go in a way you wouldn't go as killer in similar situation. Don't be predictable... Always break LOS in chase. Try to make her to use her power as often as it's possible. Once you suspect she's phasing don't go after classic looping routes - go somewhere where it's hard to follow your tracks with no LOS. Try to estimate how much power she lost during her phasing so you can avoid falling for fake phasing while her power is on cooldown. Use spine chill, it's invaluable during chases and will help you easily lose her. Once it's off, hide behind something and try to sneak away while keeping LOS broken. Always check if she's looking at you during chase - if she's nowhere to be seen but spine chill is on - stop running and hide as soon as possible.
Her greatest counter is stealth, even during chase, and we all know what community think about stealth in this game... "Stealth isn't viable! *crying and whining sounds*"... well, it is viable against her. Once you lose her she'll spend a lot of time searching through the area she lost you in and that's enough of time to get some progress on gens.

Lol despite all evidence to the contrary..but hey move to petty insults..show you have no point to make more clearly I suppose
1 -
Have you gone against a 4man second chance slave squad with voice comms, BNPs, Keys and powerful flashlights as any killer that doesn't have insanely strong mobility?
the vast majority of killers who play this game are casual who play for fun, not to be the very best. are they counterable? yes, but the vast majority of players simply won't be able to because of how unlike other survivors they are
0 -
*survivors able to do a gen and work on several more literally less then 30 seconds into a match and finish all the gens in less then 5 minutes*
*genrushing doesn't exist and gen speeds are fine*
uh huh, sure
(yes i know it's a very, very rare occurrence but it's a occurrence nonetheless)

To you. Not everyone thinks the same way. An opinion is just that, an opinion. Just because it’s different than yours doesn’t make it wrong and that is EXACTLY the mentality that you can’t have a discussion with.
Don’t like it? Well, that’s just tough ain’t it hon?
0 -
I think it was on accident my bad. Also usually it's just run iron will that counters her but every spirit runs stridor.
0 -
What was your opinion again I forgot what you said.
0 -
Playing well is gen rushing so hes not wrong. It does exist.Theres nothing else to do. When survivors arent in a chase.
0 -
i sure havent in all my 3k hours of playing this game lmao.
also vast majority? where are you getting htat information from because this game has 15 million players and i doubt you weeded out all the killers and asked them personally
0 -
it's just common sense, the vast majority of people who play video games play for fun, so why should a game like DBD be literally any different?

She may as well not have a power if you do this.
