Sprint Burst resetting upon Hook is totally fair...

Coupled with I-Frames on unhook, I for one look forward to their new unstoppable head start if I'm near them and they get unhooked.

Not camping/near the hook?
Marvel as they SB away in the opposite direction, guaranteeing a team/self-heal.

...and they get an exhaustion buff immediately after, haha.

The immediate Exhaustion recovery wouldn't change much anyway to be honest. Seeing as Exhaustion already recovers like normal when you are on the hook anyway. This would only make those quick saves better.

Yeah, I really need to work on my camping skills with Freddy. Any suggestions?

Really, though, people will just start hardcamping anyone that has used SB in a chase, so I guess we are all winners :chuffed:

There is basically no difference to Exhaustion reseting on hook with the change as per it is now with it not resetting.

    There's no issue.

The nerf to exhaustion was made to prevent them from activating SB while still in the chase so that they won't be able to SB away from you if they managed to still not get downed after using it for the 1st time.
The exhaustion reset on hook is fine, especially against tunneling scumbags. Deal with it or go play Civ V.

Except that it punishes killers that leave the hook by allowing survivors to sprint away to a free heal in the opposite direction.

Killers will definitely adapt, by hard camping.

    We'll all be winners, fam.

The unhook changes are not a big deal.  BL changes will mean very little - BL3 was a meme and BL2 is pretty rare.

Kindred could make a big difference, but we dont know how or even if they will impliment it.

For all we know, there are a bunch of killer buffs coming in the patch that they didnt mention in the Q&A.  Let's get all the info and see the PTB before we allnlose our damn minds, yeah?

9/10 killers already do that, so I guess that changes nothing?

Besides, this isn't going to impact the killers who are already away from the hook & you know it. It's going to impact the killers who stand near it.

    "and you know it"

Do you always try to force your ideas and opinions on others during civil discourse?

If I'm walking away from the hook after hooking someone that just used used Sprint Burst in a chase, as soon as I put any sort of distance between myself and the hook, it guarantees a free escape (from danger after unhook) and heal for the survivor by Sprint Bursting away in the opposite direction.

Once people figure out the redundancy of this state reset, hard camping will be the new meta.

I think he has a point, it'd mostly take effect when survivors take him of the hook quite fast and the Killer not being busy with something
else like patrolling gens or chasing someone.

Just wait till they get those few seconds of invulnerability that they are talking when unhook.

That window of opportunity if someone tries to unhook in your face where they are both still..is going away.

It's not even a few seconds. It stops the moment they are able to move, i.e. when the feet touch the ground.

So you can't down the survivor before they're even able to move, womp womp. Facecamping is less viable now, without needing to resort to elaborate mechanics.

Pretty much what I was thinking. It'll have no real effect on anyone but camping killers, as the exhaustion change already prevents multiple uses of Sprint Burst in a single chase.

It seems like a QoL change more than anything.

You realize the i-frames are only for the animation where you are being unhooked and stop the moment you gain control of your character right? You act like they are going to be invincible for seconds after an unhook, which won't be the case. You just can't be downed before you can do anything, which was stupid and just rewarded campers way too much. Now at the very least you will have to time your hit correctly.

So if I'm understanding right, they are going to give solo survivors kindred for free (meaning they will see killers that camp a certain distance), they are going to make hookrushing practically OP (kindred, auto reset on SB, invincibility on the survivor until they can hit the ground with SB so if the savior runs BT, you might as well just go for the savior instead) and they are also making stun time longer for pallet hits?

    I have just 2 questions.
    1. What will they do with kindred then? Probably make another meta perk, amirite?

    2. What are you going to do with insidious? Because for one, if you hate camping and tunneling so much devs, you pretty much have to change it, and two, camping outside of kindred radius is almost pointless if you aren't near a basement, more so with the buffs coming because stopping BT with insidious will just mean the survivor SB's away before you can get close enough to catch them ahead of loops and jungle gyms.

I mean they will gain a significant advantage on you now, and it isn't like survivors don't waste enough time as it is, this will just lead to increased death times because there will just be more hook switching. Also, yes this might stop tunneling and camping to some degree, but it will also increase slugging imo, which is probably the best way to play this game anymore anyway, but survivors DO NOT LIKE IT unless they happened to change a meta perk for unbreakable

Good thing I play on ps4 then, huh?

Nah, I'll wait til a competent game comes on PS4 that has a similar concept done well. But believe me, all the killer players, he'll most of the PS4 community is about to leave the game. Let these patches come through with this bullshit survivor catering, the reviews will speak for themselves (hopefully)

I frames were needed and I don't think it's going to be as big of a deal as you think. You just have to swing later. Much like the survivor has to time their flashlight save, we just have to time our re-down better now.

I'm predicting that Dead Hard will have a bigger impact on this than Sprint Burst as you can just spam it right away as your being unhooked.

Before you guys start howling about nerfs, you need to give it a chance and see it in action first. Frankly, I'm more concerned they'll break something unrelated and it will be hilariously OP. ;)

Here's the thing, survivors are getting REWARDED for farming now since it has no real punishment. They just SB away or DH pass you, additionally the exhaustion reset wasn't necessary since you recover while on the hook. I think the new unhook animation was okay since it allowed a mind game but now with the other stuff, expect to see more cocky survivors. Sorry about the rant :p

They can’t lose their cash cows man. They saw the Survivor scrubs complain that they actually had to have some skill, and instead of learning from the Freddy situation, they buffed Survivors to get them to stop complaining. Gotta get that money somehow.

No they don't get rewarded. How do you come to such a conclusion? The guy can still be downed within 10 seconds. The ONLY difference now is that the guy has a chance to act, that's it. You make it sound like it's 100% a free escape when that's just flat out not true. It's a fair chance to escape, where before there was no chance to escape.

The hook buffs were placed to that the unhooked survivor wasn't the one being punished for being sandbagged or just genuinely unhooked by someone right infront of the Killer.

You know, it sucks being on the other end being sandbagged and farmed, then while you're still immobile, get down, get hooked again, and so on... It's a highly unenjoyable aspect of the game so this is the fix. Or an attempted fix.

I barely noticed a difference. Though, I rarely have the need to hit the unhooked survivor because I just down the unhooker anyway and chase her instead ¯\ _ (ツ)_/¯

Didn't they want to make Exhaustion Perks less attractive?
If they reset Exhaustion on being hooked, it won't make the "Exhaustion won't recover while running" change have as much of an impact, nullifying the purpose of that change, which was to make Exhaustion Perks less attractive.

I'm not really one to care about this change, but the devs would seem like they contradict themselves with that change.

"Freddy op nurse op change the pallets back don't nerf self care don't nerf other exhaustion perks camping tunneling noed BBQ and chili" need I say more things survivors complain about? Most people like myself complain about stupid imbalance/things that shouldn't exist and back it up with facts and numbers. But all of these things I mentioned have no fact or numbers behind them on why they are complained about/wanted to be nerfed

Their reasoning for the Exhaustion change was to prevent exhaustion perks from being used twice in the same chase. This was explicitly stated repeatedly in the Q&A.
    There is no contradiction.

The i-frames and exhaustion reset gives a incentive to farming and I'll ask you this, "Do you like to get farmed?" Because now there's now more survivors farming and making bad plays now since the developers added a mechanic for playing poorly. Additionally I'll add on, I think that any bad plays in general shouldn't be rewarded to begin with coff coff farming.
