Why I think Springtrap would be a great addition to this game
Hey guys its Dabih and I wanted to talk about a subject I wanted to talk about but didn't have the courage to mostly because of what this subject is. And that is Springtrap being in DBD, I know how controversial this is, and how many people hate the idea. But this is something I wanted to get off my shoulders and talk about. So to begin why I think he would be a great addition is because he is a memorable and iconic character in the horror genre, and the Fnaf game is a very memorable, popular, and important pinnacle of the horror franchise. And the fact that the game is painted to some as a kids game is kinda sad to me, the thing is that Fnaf is considered this because of its audience. When it came out it was never intended to be for a younger audience but during the time it was released it was difficult to control what you could watch on Youtube and I think you know the rest of the story. But by then the damage was done and Scott Cawthon couldn't really do anything( meaning: make it more graphic and violent, or swearing/ basically anything to make the game rated M) about it when a great majority of fans of the game were young
I say Fnaf is a pinnacle of horror for its jump scares, all of those who played the original 4 know what I'm talking about there was a level of fear that was within Fnaf that made it very uncomfortable to play, it was just the tone it had. I think it was a smart to create something that we usually would love and make it into something terrifying works greatly and at times you felt utterly helpless also that heightened the fear within the games. The Jumpscares are terrifying for the fact it was right in front in your face made it all the more scary and were unsuspecting. I think the franchise has made its mark in the history of horror.
Now here is a personal level for me why I would love to see Spring trap in the game. When I was growing up in school i would here people talk about a game called Five Nights at Freddys, I was curious and looked it up and to my surprise it was popular seriously back then if you looked up fnaf you would see tons of youtube videos with theories and gameplay, I mean this was the crave back then and still is today(to some degree). A group in my school who were big fans of the franchise had a little get together at times, I was social outcast and me being a fan of the game and actually connecting with people that enjoyed what I enjoyed made me feel accepted. I joined the group and I became happier and more self esteem, we had many great discussions sharing our experiences of the game, they were fun. Overtime I felt better about myself and I didn't consider myself an outcast anymore, in a way FNAF has changed my life for the long run. Even when it became more kid friendly at times I reminded myself this is a game I will stick with for a long long time, because it really was a dark and twisted series. After a while my love for the franchise died slightly, and this when I got into dbd and when I heard someone started a petition to get Springtrap in the game I was down for it immediately. I really want this to be in the game because fnaf was the first ever horror series I actually got into, I mean this was my childhood, this game made me into a huge fan of horror and introduced me to a genre I truly love, and I thank the game for that, it would make me and some other people happy to see the game that cemented my love for horror in general into dbd, and honestly I think if it were ever to come to the game it will show what Fnaf could've been, a darker more gruesome tone than what was given. Thank you that is all I have to say and I know I'm digging my grave but that's okay, I'm willing to admit that I am someone who supports this.

I just wanted get this off my shoulders and to be honest, I understand why you don't support it, I'm okay with you disagreeing with me I'm totally cool with it. One thing I have to admit is that I don't know where the original thread for this is, but I didn't want this post to become toxic or having huge arguments or anything.

I get you, I don't want to ######### talk either, but certain things the community doesn't seem to want, and for valid reasons in my opinion, that being FNAF and any other meme / creepy pasta killer like Slenderman. They have too much of a cringe / little kid stigma attached to them.

This. The books are published through Scholastic which is a publisher that only does kids books so it is targeted towards kids. Right now, even if kids play the game, they have the defense all their DLC comes from adult franchises so it's parents fault for letting kids play an adult game. They cannot use that defense if they add in a kid targeted DLC, it will then turn to if it's an adult game why have DLC targeted to kids. No dlc targeted towards kids should be put into the game because it would attract parents groups that will start demanding they make the game kid friendly.

To be honest I don't think fnaf was ever intended for kids it was just with Youtubes like Markiplier and Jacsepticeye who posted gameplay footage of it, and during the time Youtube had very little regulations about it, also game videos were very popular in kids eyes back then.

I will give the answer I give to all of the "Lets have killer (insert name here) into DBD." I do not care if its a killer I personally enjoy/know, if its well implemented and offers something new to the roster then let it happen. I don't enjoy Leatherface (wasn't a fan of the movies, and I'm not a fan of the characters game-style, yet I would never say "remove Leatherface from DBD" or "Leatherface shouldn't have been added."
The game was never created to be a "children's game" and that is simply what people choose to associate it with because children (the ones most likely to follow Youtube creator they enjoy watching) started playing the game.
I use to play Doom and Duke Nuke' em a ton as a child because my Dad played it (and ended up letting me) that didn't make the game a "children's game".

On the other hand someone like Robbie rotten (an amazing character for the memes alone) WAS part of a children's show. He is a bad guy for a children's show and was never created to be a "horror villain". Your examples are comparing characters that were never part of the genre being discussed.

Yeah like when Ghostface or Pyramid head came out I sat there and asked " Uhh... who?" You know I didn't know them and theyu are really good so I'm okay with them being in DBD, and again yes Fnaf was never intedned for kids it just happened through a series of unfortunate events which led it to be called a kids game

I agree with you on certain things. However the game itself, and all products produced for it afterwards were marketed towards younger audiences. Even the creator himself has come out and said he hates what the game and its audience have become.
The kids that grew up watching Pewdiepie and Markiplier playing FNAF are around what? 16 to 18 years old now, so obviously they hold it dear to their hearts. That doesn't mean its a right fit for DBD though.
Just because you played DOOM or Duke Nukem as a kid (I did too!) doesn't mean those game were marketed towards kids, or had the same child following and stigma that FNAF does.

If it was not intended for kids then they would not have gone with a publisher that only does kids books. The moment they signed contract with a publisher that only publishes books for kids they agreed that it's target audience is kids.

One thing I have to say now to ensure there are no serious arguements or toxicity for this subject is be mindful of others opinion, it is okay to disagree with them jsut don't take it to a level in where you are starting a war, this will greatly hurt the chances of him actually being in the game.

Exactly. I'm not a fan of the FNAF series of games but the characters were created to be "horror villains/killers". They are killers plain and simple. Scott created this as a horror game NOT a kids game. So people need to set aside their personal opinions about FNAF and realize that even if they don't like the series the characters themselves ARE horror villains or horror killers that could fit the genre of DBD.

As you said the games LATER became targeted towards a younger audience due to the player base it started to garner, meaning the original cast of characters created were not done so under that new mindset.
Its ultimately up to BHVR to add whatever brings in the money and players, and while I would not buy a FNAF chapter/character I wouldn't fault them for wanting to do it as clearly there is interest within the community for this to happen.

Are you seriously considering the Saw movies as children's movies lol. I can kinda get pyrimid head and Ghostface (thought not really) but saw is most definitely not for kids. The scream movies are partially parody and silent Hill is a video game, but both are still arguably not for kids. The most valid of those would be pyrimid head, but even then...

So because I don't want it I'm pigheaded? Or is it because I have Pig as my avatar? Either way, if it gets into the game, it gets into the game. I have no control over that, I can only state why I don't think it belongs here. No one is stopping you from liking children's stuff, I like Scooby Doo!

First of all enough is enough, I tried to be calm about it but guys, this was not intended to start an argument, an attack on a player base, or whatever you think it is, I just wanted to talk about why I would think it would be interesting to have this character in the game, SO I ask kindly can you please not fight over a opinion I have when I'm okay with negativity , and secondly don't fight over which movies are childish and which ones are not, I've been trying to avoid toxicity, and show maturity with in the fnaf community, but right now its starting to fade, so please do me a favor and stop it now please and thank you.

Only because you think we are "fighting" allow me to clarify, I typed my responses out with a calm mind and a calm voice (if it were to be read as such) and from the responses I received from @Meatbycicle I also got that same tone.
We were simply having a discussion regarding the topic NOT a fight.
One of the most dangerous things when reading a post/comment is adding any sort of "emotional context" to it because it can make you read something completely different. At no point in time did I assume @Meatbycicle was angry with me or fighting, they were simply giving their side of the story and showing where their mindset was formed. I appreciate that and can understand where they were coming from.
Even THIS comment is written with a calm mind and a calm voice as I simply want you to understand (at least with us two) no fighting was happening.

I mean if you put a kid in front of the first Friday the 13th movie, they'll more probably piss themselves off laughter than seeing Jason as a scary guy.
And still older people don't categorize Jason as a kid thing due to how much he's requested.
Some people are too grown up to certain things other would consider scary.
May I ask you what's scary about Paper plated teenagers with pointy rulers?

FNaF, despite its reputation, is not a kids game. It is still a horror game. And like all horror, one can become desensitized to it. Even children.

That's an original killer. Ghost Face is from a teen slasher series. I'm not saying that killers from "certain" areas can't be in the game. I'm just saying that putting a literal kids villain in a MATURE game will turn away a lot of New and current players. If FNAF gets a killer into the game what's to keep Ursula from the Little Mermaid out?

Actually, I don't think that is true. The newer experiences are VR and AR, and still trying to uphold the creepiness factor. Trying to immerse one within the experience...
I think the merch, which is more reflective of the companies behind them, market to kids like many other franchises do, and because the premise actually can allow for that. You cant sell PH to children, but you could sell Springtrap, and he is a far more tortured soul than PH ever can be when you get into the details.
