What do you want with the "End Game Collapse for the Start Of the Game"?

On the 4th Anniversary Stream they announced that, like the introduction of the End Game Collapse, they were working on something new for the start of the game.

What do you hope it is, and how it will work?

until the first chase gen speeds are slowed 50% percent

Hopefully a way to slow down the match without being too boring, don't know how to do that though.

I just wish Corrupt Intervention was a built in mechanic and some other direct slowdown perks would get nerfed along with that change.

I think the thing that makes early game nonexistent currently is that the game spawns survivors right next their objectives (god help you when they are all spawn next to 4 four separate gens as well). It's not so bad in situations where the killer spawns on one side of the map and survivors on the other, but if you spawn in the middle of the map, then you just have to hope that your guess was right otherwise those gens are gone before you can do anything about them.

Coincidentally 2 killers who are currently struggling

admittedly halved gen speed might be boring for survivors, but getting into a first chase shouldn’t take too long (but this depends on rank)

A survivor could also run into the killer los and force a chase as well. I'd be down for anything that shears a bit of the free gen progression off at the start of a game.

I think it needs to be more than a simple "Slowdown gens until the first chase" thing. Because that doesn't really fix some of the problems with the early game such as lack of pressure. It just makes survivors hold M1 a little longer, and doesn't really help killers who get into their first chase, and their first chase lasts long enough to get gens done.

I hope it’s a shiny new mechanic that can be influenced by how you play, both as a Killer or a Survivor, all while making the game balanced less around how well you can hold down a single button.

Maybe we can get some perks and offerings with it. MAYBE WAKE UP WILL FINALLY SERVE A PURPOSE!

    Corrupt Intervention made base

    OR

Survivors needing to locate extra parts to start repairing a gen.

I hopes it's just like the regular EGC: After two minutes all survivors die and the match ends.

hag is no way struggling, everytime i see a swf or a team that looks like it's about to bully me hard i just switch to hag cuz she is strong as hell, i don't remember the last time i didn't get a 4k or a 3k with her

I think I'd like a rework to the core mechanic of repair to encourage survivors to work together.

Currently survivors are at their weakest when split apart, at least for the vast majority of a match. Get four survivors on four different gens spread as far as possible, and it's just a nightmare to deal with.

What if you repaired generators significantly slower solo? At least when everyone is alive. If someone dies, everyone else can repair generators a little faster solo, so it doesn't become impossible or anything.

But if you worked together and tag-teamed generators, it'd be dramatically faster, but more risky.

As it stands, it's technically faster on a per generator basis to repair as a team, but at a higher level it's SO much faster (and safer!) to just be by yourself in a far corner of the map holding M1 and dealing with super easy skill checks.

Another alternative is much more frequent and much harder (increasingly difficult) skill checks as you solo repair a generator. Can still be beaten with higher levels of skill, but still presents an element of risk and pressure whether the killer is there or not. There needs to be more match-wide pressure for survivors, so they never feel completely safe or out of harm's way.

I've also been thinking about the Entity playing a bigger direct role in matches, blocking off generators if it gets "mad" that they're being completed too quickly, same as how it blocks off abused windows. Remember, the Entity is supposed to be working with the killer, so it could be a potential solution.

Obviously I think any one of these things could potentially be a positive move and am not recommending all at once, as that would completely bork the survivor game, but I think these would slow down high level survivors who are working together (by not working together) while still leaving the less skilled survivors virtually untouched, since they tend to gather on gens or crouchwalk the map more.

Probably will be something like first two minutes of match, totem auras can be seen by all survivors, killer is slowed by 25%, gates can be 99ed at start of match etc,.. ,... you know to combat the corrupt intervention meta that now exists.
