Non-underrated opinion: These forums are continually losing attraction
I said it then and I'll say it again... these forums are becoming increasingly less popular. 5 minutes for a single reply? Back in the golden days, insignificant fools such as I would wait just a merely 20 seconds for an occasional 2-5 replies. Not a "big deal" overall, but I would appreciate some elevated engagement on this platform (if others can agree).
Edit: Yeah, we definitely can't change its popularity, but we can at least alter our own perceptions haha

No what? We can't change it or it's not the case? I ask of you clarity, haha!

Ok. I see your name reflects your attitudes.

I haven't been on the forums for very long compared to most of the people here. But I can agree that engagement is very low unless you make a post complaining about how the killer/survivor balance is terrible.

The forums right now is literally filled with controversial topics in this game right now.

Yes, viewer attraction is and is only centred around complaints. Quite stupid, honestly...

Quite incorrect.

Ok, computer.

It's the mass of platforms people have:
here, steam, tumblr, twitter, etc.
It'd need more active devs in the threads here to get people here.

The main issue is probably that we have been talking about the same issues for years.
For example: Why talk about console optimization? We have been discussing issues for ages and nothing changed.
Or matchmaking: Also been an issue for ages. The devs now came up with a new system, but they won't tell us how it works, so what should we talk about when we know nothing about it? (I'm talking about how we don't know how performance will be rated. By kills? Bloodpoints? Something entirely different?)

I mean we all have lives outside of being on the forums. No one specific person is here to fix your boredom. Go read a book or take a walk outside for a bit if you don't like waiting. Go do something else.

I have no clue what the actual numbers show in terms of the forum's popularity, but I'll say this: The forums are definitely not appealing in anyway to newcomers.
90% of the threads on the front page are complaining about some aspect of the game, simply to feed the constant "Us vs. Them" mentality, which at this rate, would likely kill the game down the line. That's why I always suggest there be some form of "Balance suggestions/feedback" sub-forum, or a sub-forum for debating. The forums are a warzone, and at times, I feel like the devs shouldn't listen to us.
This is the reason you may see me predominantly comment of FNaF-related threads above all else; I simply couldn't care less about SWFs destroying red ranks, or DS, or Unbreakable, or NOED, or Spirit, or Freddy (NOTE: I'm not saying these issues don't exist). I just try to have fun with the game above all else. Does DbD have its share of issues? Of course, but consistently holding a flame war over every small issue is the exact reason why almost none of these issues get fixed, or fixed properly.
That sort of went slightly off topic, but I hope you can see where I'm coming from. I know for a fact that this community has some absolutely brilliant people in it, but it seems as if the bad apples are ruining the bunch.
Let's try to create a more welcoming atmosphere from now on.

Well thats not correct, but those are really the only forum post that get attention.

Thank you. Your opinion is overly reflective of mine, and the exact thing I was given a warning for bringing to light. People in other forums and game dev sites typically ask the same, frequently coined question, "listen to the players more!". However, in DBD's case, the game and the forums collectively would benefit to a ludicrous extent from people's lack of complaint. As you do, I also don't enjoy reading the complaints of "who's too OP", "why this killer should be nerfed", "changes need to come to ranks", "issues around red rank exploitation" - I honestly couldn't care less. Exactly the reason I vouch my views on the matter. It's terribly embarrassing, the state of these forums. We require some sort of opt-out of people's complaining and grunting over the smallest, most insignificant issues - can't we just enjoy what is here to offer through DBD?
I mean, the community AS A WHOLE is decent. Quite a welcoming one. But yes, definitely create a more welcoming atmosphere. None of us want Reddit 2.0 over here, am I right?

I'm actually speaking on the state of the forum's attraction today vs before. It has zero connections to my outside life.

One side of the spectrum, yes. A bit overkill with the constant whinging, eh?

This forum always was a killer forum (80% of comments where in the killer subforum), but nowadays it's so difficult to find a survivor main. If you create a comment asking something for survs, you can see hordes of killers complaining about survivor being so easy (because they're so bad as killer). This makes new survivors to leave the forums. And when killers take the 90% of these forums, it will be the end. But that's seems what BHVR wants.

This is why barely any players want to come to these forums. It's this debate https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDbeqj-1XOo
