A Tip For Survivors

When you're attempting to heal a survivor from Dying State to Injured, do not start healing them if their recovery bar is a low %. The killer sees, on the HUD, that the Bleed Out Timer is paused. You're better off letting them recover it to a higher % and heal them from there. Unless the killer has zero intention of picking the person up (DS) most of the time a killer will come back and just get more momentum off of that slug.

    I actually didn't know this.

    Thanks!

@notstarboard the Bleed Out Timer is highlighted by a bright red pulsing outline on the HUD when it's paused. Same as when a survivor is being unhooked :)

Thinking outside the box of general in-game advice...

    - the audio of entering a locker slowly (the squeaky door) is masked by the sound of the killer breaking a pallet. So you could get away with that, if you weren't using Quick & Quiet.

    - Scratch Marks appear quite visibily against walls, rocks, obstacles and trees etc, so if you're trying to ghost/evade a killer, walk behind them and run when LOS is blocked. Also, Scratch Marks aren't visible through grass and bushes.

    - If the killer is experienced, faking vaults is a great trick to learn. And also, faking a vault, into a slow/quiet vault works wonders too. They don't hear the vault audio so they moonwalk back onto your side of the vault, only for you to be on the other side and most likely already peeling away or crouched out of sight at the side of the window.

    - crouching also reduces groans of pain audio by a little bit too, so it can help to crouch when a bit further away from the killer just to give you that room to get more distance and ghost them more effectively.

    - having higher sensitivity is a great help too, you can rotate your camera to look back at the killer and again to look ahead of you more smoother without messing up your pathing/bumping into stuff.

Let me know if these are helpful or if you wanted more basic tips or advanced tips :)

I was about to say how the hell do you spot that on a 4 minute timer.

I noticed that, but this seems to be a bug, right? I only realised this recently, maybe i never payed attention but it seems to be new.

Yeah. As a killer when slugging, I occasionally check back on the HUD bar to see if a survivor is healing. If things are taking too long I will go back and just hook to not lose pressure.

As a survivor, when I see someone hasn't recovered and the killer is still around, I will leave them and take my chances for an unhook.

There are too many times as killer that I have hit a survivor healing someone else.

@xEa I would go with that it's a new function of the HUD. Since it happens with slug healing, while unhooking and struggling with Camaraderie active.

Before working on tricks, figure out some of the following.

Are you going to be a stealthy survivor or a risky survivor? This will affect a lot of the decisions you make in the game and how you interact with other players.

Determine what your role in the team is. What are you good at? What are you bad at? 4 Roles listed below.

    • Objective: How good are you at getting generators done and hitting all of your skill checks.
    • Surviving: Actively not getting hooked and staying away from the killer.
    • Aulturistic: Getting hook saves and healing other survivors.
    • Bold: Surviving in chases with a killer and looping appropriately.

Once you have perfected one area, work on perfecting the others. It is important to have a well rounded approach and then you can utilize the role that is needed in your team.

Know how to position your camera to ensure optimal decision making when in chase.

Begin to recognize timing. This improves over time. When do you go for a save, when do you work on a gen, who is in chase.

Also, know when you need to go down for a teammate who is on their last hook.

My perk list that I use extensively has Spine Chill and Empathy. I usually know where the killer is at all times and it helps my time considerably.

Once you figure out your playstyle, utilize your perks to either capitalize on it or fill in your bad spots. If you want to talk about your playstyle with me, I can suggest some perks.
