Did the devs forget what Ace's perks do?
One of the challenges is escaping with an item while using the perk Open Handed. Now, it sounds like it makes sense, except... Open Handed is for Aura Reading, not items. It would make sense if it were Ace in the Hole, to protect the addons, but... why Open Handed?

Oh wow I didn't even notice it said Open Handed, I just assumed it was Ace in the Hole because of the actual challenge. Now I'm just confused.

"Which of Ace's perks lets you keep add-ons?"
"What's his perks again?"
"Ace in the Hole, Open Handed, and Up the Ante."
"...Maybe open-handed?"
"Let's go with that one."

Ace would make more sense or to simply enter a match with a Map and escape with it while using Open.

I feel like the intention is to utilize the abilities of a map or a key with Open Handed. What else are they gonna do for it? Read 4 auras?

Open Handed does not affect maps. Maps have infinite "Aura Reading Range", and the only thing that affects them is what is currently tracked. Open Handed does not increase the map tracking range. The only item Open Handed can possibly affect is a key, but if they intended for us to use the effect of the perk on a key, why not specify that it must be a key?

Open handed alone yes, but combine it with Plunderer's and get your item that way. Maybe that's what the devs intended to do.

As an Ace Main, I did too...

I think Unnerving Presence had a challenge like that too.
You had to have it equipped of course, and the objective was to prevent Survivors from opening Exit Gates.

Are the Ace's perks the worst ones on Survivor side? Even worst than Quentins?

Open handed increases aura reading rates for your team.
Up the Ante increases luck for every survivor still in the trial.
Ace in the hole let's you keep addons if you escape and increases the chance of getting addons attached to items in a chest.
So yes.

Ace in the Hole is useful for keeping addons, Open Handed is good if you are with a team that likes running Bond, Kindred, or Windows of Opportunity, and Up the Ante is really fun with Slippery Meat and luck offerings.

Yeah I think I was thinking of map add ons that increase tracking range, but yeah nothing to do with aura reading.
