Why do all the cosmetics for the girls have flats...I’m trying to run through the fog in some lady Gaga size heels.

Probably because it would require changing the model's height, and how their feet are positioned in nearly every animation.

Yeah I'm no fashion expert or anything close but that new Yui outfit doesn't look right. I mean shes wearing tennis shoes with the whole "Greek Goddess" thing. It actually looks so bad and kills the entire outfit for me, which is funny because I usually don't care about these things.

If there were heels in DBD, the animations would also have to change .. If we add that, I don't doubt that there were more bugs so I'm happy that they didn't exist.

I use to be able to run in high heels pretty well, actually. Now I'd probably break my neck, but it is certainly do-able.

No, I can read. Dead by daylight realism is okay with heart skewers and teleporting hags, falling for 15 feet without broken ankles, but god forbid you have 3 inches extra on?

What you mean is "everything else is already implimented, so it must work, but heels wont because ReAlISm".

Come to think of it, the most likely reason is the character models. If you've ever played around with avatar sites, the avatar itself is static in height. So when you put on heels, they usually sink into the ground without resizers to make the overall avatar or at least parts of it smaller. The latter usually disproportions the character. They'd have to raise character models up higher and then animation problems would also come into play.

I know where you're coming from in terms of 'being realistic' but how does the likes of dwelf and mr puddles clown fall under this category but not heels?

God, I hate when people call characters in games as "avatars" or "toons", dunno why but it makes me cringe so hard :P
In terms of why there are no heels, models would need to be slightly adjusted to accommodate for height shift of the heel, it would look kind of off if they decided to keep it the same way.
The only solution are just very small heels, that still distorts the proportions but aren't as obvious.
Or
Just make boots that were originally heels but make said heels broken/torn off. Would be easier but uglier solution.
Also, ######### sandals, the most disgusting footwear. Yuck!

Yeah, I was having discussion yesterday here about how the term "cringe" makes me cringe, because it's so overly used. Irony.
Avatar sites rarely use the term character, when the actual company refers to them, and in turn the millions of people who have used them usually do as well. It's mostly because of customization, rather than any set character, which would mean a distinctive look and/or pre-written back story. I'm sure a better ratio of folks have more experience with that than SFX and game programming when it comes to digital models and how they work. I'm just arguing semantics now, lol.

I agree, it's pretty much random or extremely subjective now what "fits" and what doesn't. I personally don't think the greek legends collection "fits" that perfectly either but thats another story.

Adding heels would change the stance of the models, many animations would have to be redone. Pretty much effort for such a small change.
