What's the point of Med-kits if everyone is just EMT trained, Self-Care experts?
Or anything in Chests at all when nearly every perk (like sabotage) makes things in chests pointless when the perk at highest tier is better?

The point is time. The med kit heal a lot faster than self care can, just as toolboxes repair a lot faster.

also we have items like flashlights, maps, and keys, which perks cannot substitute.

Plus i have yet to see survivor's blind a killer just by flashing them a bright smile 😁 ..... ummm, devs, pls ignore this idea! 🙊

To be fair I only mention med-kits, so... yeah.
I dont mine flashlights, I know my way to avoid them.
But what's the point in going stabby stabby when they'll just heal themselves (not by how it use to by another survivor) and protect themselves with other perks, I wont mention since everyone on this forum already does (which I dont care for I dont tunnel I move on) I just don't see how med-kits are needed. The time between medkit and self-care isn't that much difference... 🤷♂️
Med-kits in chests or better yet, brought are a gamble of sorts. A permanent perk is already readily available

they were being silly about the flashlights, but it is true selfcare is at 50% healing speed of healing another survivor. (that is before any bonuses via perks) Med kits give you the ability to have selfcare without the perk and at medkit speed which is faster than healing another without it. this is why there are med kits. and the same goes for toolboxes.
Some people don't like running the perk selfcare and there are people that despise it.

Okay, that one made me laugh. In all seriousness though, SC buffs medkits and, if someone is using it correctly alongside Botany instead of slowly healing and isolating yourself whenever you take a hit, it buffs them even more.
Also, I've been using toolboxes lately, and they are kinda nuts still. The massive repair speedboost is incredibly useful. People can call them gutted all they want, if I have a toolbox and I want a gen done, that gen ain't getting PGTW'd back to 70% before I can finish. That is huge.

You bring in a medkit so you dont have to waste a perk slot on self care and you can run something thats worth running. Self care takes 32 seconds to complete thats a long time to be healing when your playing a game where a few seconds can literally mean the difference between life and death.
