Devs, I'm so glad you reintroduced the disconnection penalty.
Without addressing any of the reasons that someone might want to leave a game that is. Say being forced to play on Ormond a terrible map that now has approximately zero visibility, Haddonfield and it's endless fences or the god awful silent hill map which.. well.. who decided that was fit for release? A monkey?
Or maybe I don't want to constantly get matched up against red rank SWF groups as a rank 12 killer. Maybe that's a time someone would want to disconnect.

Unless you legitimately have a reason to leave (I.e you're sick irl) you shouldn't be leaving and deserve the penalty for doing so.

I do think we need some kind of penalty for disconnecting though. Even now, with the penalty, some people still disconnect when I play killer. I've had three people disconnect on me in the past week, which isn't much, but just imagine how much higher that number could be if there was no penalty.
And this is coming from someone whose internet sometimes decides it's time for a break, so I know the pain of being penalized for leaving against your will.

See the problem is, if there was one map or killer or thing in the game that everyone agreed was broken then disconnecting would be justified until it was fixed.
But itās all subjective. This person wants to disconnect because Ormond, this one because Haddonfield, this one because Coldwind etc
Thatās where the problems start. Thatās why the penalties are in there in the first place.
I donāt actually mind Haddonfield. Ormond isnāt great but Iāll take it over rotten fields or Oniās map.
For me the two worst maps in the game are rotten fields as killer and Hawkins as survivor, and itās funny because Iāve always thought this and then we got the stats and it proved that yes those two really are the most unbalanced maps in the game.
The closest thing to a universally hated killer is Legion. He should have been prioritised for a rework above all other killers.

Ok but like when you're playing a game it's annoying when one of your teammates decide to DC because "they didn't feel like playing anymore against x killer" and I don't really DC as killer even when I get sweaty swf I just continue to play the match and then move on.

Sometimes reasons for leaving are out of my control. Either the ######### game crashed or something is needed from me and I have to do it at that exact moment. Not life or death situation :( but just because..

Well if you're needed that 5 minute ban should mean absolutely nothing. And if you're crashing multiple times within 24 hours, it might be time to look at your device, as I can't remember the last time I've crashed in a game of dbd. Once in the archives, but never in a trial.

Constantly against swf red ranks? You apparently havent seen the numbers showing how that is statistically not happening.
And oh man, one or two circumstances that arent 100% optimal for you? It's almost as if some games will be harder than others.
If you cant take the bad with the good, dont queue up and waste everyone elses time. Some games are going to be bullshit. And some will be gg ez. But you have to accept both.

Well, swf is in a lot of matches. But it's mostly 2 people.
Assuming you meant group as in 4 people, it's a very low number. Even then. The number of GOOD 4 man swf is even less.
3 people, is more common, but still not hit squad status.
Plus you cant tell who is a swf immediately, or even reliably always.
PLUS a rank 12 going against ALL red ranks is an anomaly. Matchmaking is #########, as always, but it's been far better recently, and as always, rank doesnt matter.
Even if you were a rank 15 against rank 1s, if you played the game to your best, without the pessimistic outlook (especially since you dont know the rank until endgame and it becomes self fulfilling that you look at the next game in a bad light), you would learn SOMETHING from the game. You would get better to the point of being able to compete with those better than you. Our current rank is a fake mmr, and with the matchmaking how it is, is useless.
That's not even counting the amount of rank 8 or lower survivors who play like rank 15s.

I've had random crashes. I went to play swf. I had chose claudette because she had a ritual which I completed but as soon as I escape the trial game crashes and I depip and don't gain anything after I've already escaped and hit the match scoreboard. Not the 1st time but it's not really like happening a lot.
Ik this has a lot to do with personal life but I hate getting called for stupid little things that can wait until after the game like a 15 minute game. :c

No, if you werent pessimistic about it youd learn:
-When to break chase instead of wasting time
-How to mindgame certain tiles
-How to patrol gens and not get too committed to chases or patrolling one spot
-How not to tunnel and spread pressure
But ya know, if you go into every game thinking "ugh swf is broken theres no point", of ######### course you wont learn anything, because you're refusing to see the actual situation other than "swf broken".

Iām EU. Most lobbies are 3-4 man swf without question. Unless someone wants to tell me its just coincidence all survivors are on each others friends lists.
Whatever their stats say about swf numbers and frequency its definitely not true in my region from my experience.

Other people play this game. People who paid for it just like you. By quitting because you aren't having fun you are ruining their fun. Hence why you shouldnt DC at all unless you have to go.
It sucks for you but maybe you should play something else or get a better pc. People shouldnt get away with DCing all because your pc can''t handle it. The specs were right below the "add to cart" button so it's not like they withheld that information from you to get a purchase. I've had random crashes once in awhile and I only have to wait like 1 min. Those only happen once every few weeks for me so I can put up with it. If you crash so much that the DC penalty is accumulating maybe you should upgrade?

i'm sure for some the The specs were lower so can they people get they money back because now they PC can't handly the game now?
killer are the only one who get hurt with the DC penalty with survivor killing the self killer can't if we dc we get the penalty if we go afk it bannable offense.
killers should be allowed to dc why because survivor just go back to lobby and still get to keep all points up to the point but the killer dc they lose 2 pip all points but all now get the penalty,not the same as when survivor dc and the other 3 are stuck in the game with the killer.
