MMR making me feel bad playing killer.
Killer main, specifically nurse with 1k hours. I played a few matches as wraith and billy and got a bunch of rank 15-20s each time, all with <20 hours played. I thought, ok surely its because i don't play those killers often, so i hopped on my nurse main, i play a few games of nurse every day. I purple ranks this time, but everyone had less than 50 hours and got completely stomped. my games are far far far more chill than before, but in a negative way. If i tryhard they usually get maybe 1 gen done.
######### is going on?

Any killer you rarely play will have less MMR. So you get weak opponents until MMR takes you where you belong.

I had the opposite problem playing Leatherface earlier. All of my games were me (usually red or purple) with 560hrs against three 1-3k hours, and one newer player with less than 60 hours.
However, I've been practicing Oni a lot the last week and today all of my matches were pretty well balanced and fun, no major disparity on either side other than the random newer player here and there.
Normally I main Hag and haven't played much with her but the only times I have a challenge with Hag is against a well coordinated 4man.

I figured that, for my wraith and billy games, i don't play them much and just finishing up unlocking everything for my killers. But i switched to my nurse main and it was just as bad. I haven't had a single match where i wasn't stomping and had to hold back just so people had fun.

They said something about MMR being calculated on the background without using them to affect matchmaking.
Previously, matchmaking was based on ranks. But MMR wise, you and your opponents might be drastically different and say if you lose, you lose a lot of MMR and if you win, you get very less.
Even though you've played against people with ranks similar to yours, their MMR might be much lower and since MMR isn't a factor in matchmaking it will take longer before it gets stabilised.

I'm sure as you play more the MMR gets more data to work with. Then it will start putting you against higher skilled survivors. At least that's normally how it works on paper. I still have a feeling if survivors are in que long enough, the game will forget fairness and toss the first killer available like it always does.

Bro, i have 1k hours as a nurse main and regularly 4k proably 70% of my games before this change at rank 1, something is off. I get that ranks aren't being used anymore, that's fine, I'm talking about the disparity in play. I'm playing people with double digit hours in this game with my 4 digit hours.

Just saw a match from true, he is getting the same thing:

Making me feel bad playing survivor as well. Just got matched against a level 19 killer with one perk, looped this poor guy for 3 minutes straight without taking any damage while my teammates did all of the gens, and all 4 of us escaped. I see so many new players quitting because of MMR.

I think they legit got matchmaking backwards or something. High MMR killers are going against low MMr survivors, and high MMr survivors are going against low MMR killers.

This is what kinda pisses me off. Why not announce it here or use all platforms? Not everyone has twitter

Wait... you're a killer main with 1k hours and you still have sympathy for survivors?
I've lost mine after countless toxic SWF's and receiving toxic messages, despite going out my play to play as fair as possible.
Often it's the potatoes who are more likely to send toxic messages post game anyway.
EDIT: I remember when I first played against my first good killer (I also remember the first good survivor I went against too). It was Hillbilly on Coldwind farm back in 2018, I got wrecked but I had fun. Going against that killer made me realize I still had a lot of areas to improve on. The potato survivors you play against, may have a similar revelation as I did.

I want matches that are challenging, stomping people is no fun for me, i can only imagine how bad it is for survivors. I'm getting the same thing when i play survivor. I'm looping the killer for 5 gens and then i get out and they have 1 perk.

I feel so bad for playing against yellow/brown ranks. Never have I ever felt so guilty playing any game.

You're exactly right. I've played a ton of Myers since yesterday. My matches actually got easier despite constantly 4k'ing all but the very first trial and one 3k. Looking at the profiles, I was getting matched with players who were gradually newer and newer with fewer hours. In the late matches, I had many instances of players with under 100h and some under 20h. This despite having played well more than the 10 games for mmr to settle and having stomped my way through those.
Whatever this mmr is measuring, it's clearly not working in my case and I'm essentially destroying new players out of the game.
