is this really a thing? i was reading through some threads were ppl with thousands of hours got banned for editing their save files. but how is that even possible? isnt the save file on the devs backend for over a year now? do u need to hack the their backend to get to ur save file? it just makes no sense to me that ppl with thousands of hours would hack it even if it was possible. just curious.

    Savefiles are both on your computer and on their servers.

    Each time there is a change in your savefile, the game takes the file from your computer and sends it on their servers (then you see the spinning circle in your gane).

    So in theory, you can hack your savefile, by sending a false file on their servers, but now they can monitor it and see if you suddenly have +999999999999 BPs, or fully prestiged characters etc.

    That's how it works, I think.

    so putting in one of ur old save files would be bannable too? because someone did that after getting an error and after 5 days he got banned (devs told us back in the days we should make a back up of our save files incase we lose it or some other errors happen). so i guess we should not do this anymore?
