True but what amazes me now is that its still popular debat, but if Jack was to be in the game he could ahve aline of interesting cosmetics

The thing is, a lot of the people don't know in just how many other games and movies the persona of Jack the Ripper has been used in. So they have this idea as if this would be the first time he's used in media(a game in this case). But it's not.

Eh you could but I was thinking in where it could allow the players to choose the fantasies, or allow them to choose like who Jack the Ripper was. Like for a barber people could think he's Sweeny Todd, or the Butcher that could portain to that part, I'm just saying they have a lot of possabilties with this character cosmetic wise

I agree but civ is a little bit different, those are nations with real historical leaders, for obvious reasons they are leaders typically not known for mass genocide, which is a good thing. So yeah depiction of real people in media and games needs to be thought out.
Jack the ripper is a real serial killer and probably shouldn't be in the game, but a killer inspired by that circumstance would be pretty good. Again a Victorian/Edwardian era gentleman in a top hat with a razor chasing survivors around cobblestone streets. Think how cool the map could be.
It could have a bunch of period/Gothic costume cosmetics for survivors and would fit with DBD really well.
While the generators are modern in design, the first generators (at least Faraday Disks) stem back to the early 1800's with more modern gens appearing in the early 1900's its not a stretch to include the theme.
What name though?

Actually, new forensic evidence says the ripper was a man named Aaron Kosminski, A prime suspect at the time. The H.H Holmes thing only really matches the time period, not much else. I still don't care to see him in the game, I don't think IRL killers are the way to go.

Really I didnt know that huh cool, but now I've put more thought into it maybe Irl killers aren't a good idea but I would like to see killers that took inspiration off of them

I'm thinking of a Tim Burtonesque character large top hat, razor, cane, cape and in all black.
As for a name, you've got some good ones, but i think the 'The Shadow' could work as well. Really like the idea of that era and setting.

It's something completely different to make a NPC, or a secondary character based on a serial killer and make it a playable character.
The examples you used never put Jack as the protagonist, the playable character. Never made people try to "be good" using his method. Never glorified and gave points for your brutality. And putting him as a killer on a game you control makes you do all that. Put the man on evidence. Help creating a new image, certainly more positive, which is a terrible thing.

They found forensic evidence that proved Kosminski was the ripper.

Not to hijack the thread but they found mitochondrial DNA with partial matches from maternal line to one victim and Kosminski, however the sample is not without contamination. The mtDNA sequenced is a very common one and without the full sequence being provided in the published paper due to cited privacy concerns, I'm afraid it could have come from a number of sources as the overlaps are from mtDNA that is common to a huge number of European people.
Also mtDNA is primarily and most reliably used as a tool to show two samples aren't related and exclude suspects, rather than direct relatedness to show guilt. Its use then is not entirely appropriate to say Kosminski is the ripper but rather to say there is common enough mtDNA to be unable to dismiss him as a suspect based on it alone. But that could be said for 100's of other unrelated Europeans who share the similar mtDNA profile.
So while it is potentially good evidence it in no way proves beyond doubt that Kosminski was the ripper. Sadly we wind up back at square one.
But yes top hat and cape wearing slasher would be a great DBD killer.
