Are Low Quality graphics unfair?

I was messing around in Settings while waiting for a match and I noticed this.

When You switch to Low Quality graphics, game becomes much brighter.

Is that intended? And doesn't that give extra advantage to people who use it?

Yep, it should NOT give an advantage. We should not be forced to put low settings to be on par with other players. Same as streched resolution

It's fair because everybody has the option to use it, especially when it's the least demanding options

Everyone has the option to use it so I wouldn't call it unfair. If it's an advantage every player can choose to use it over graphical quality if they want.

As long as it doesn't have any obvious bugs like being able to see the red stain through walls (I think that was fixed?) it's just how it is with PC gaming. Players can choose between max performance and clarity and higher graphical quality. And I'm sure you could brighten the game up even on max quality with other 100% legal methods, like Nvidia filters and such.

that's a good point there, especially when crossplay comes along. the 30 fps is gonna be enough of a hit against especially killers like the nurse as well as the controller making ones like saint of killers & huntress almost impossible to play as lol.

My pc run the game at 60 fps even in ultra settings. Most people use low settings to get an advantage in game. For example survivors who can see the red stain through the shack wall.

Geforce Experience exists and is supported. This is a stupid argument. The devs put basically no settings in the game but support 3rd party interactions that can do a hell of a lot more.

If its an option for every single player on the platform they're using, then it aint cheating. I play on medium because i value FPS over graphics, and anyone can choose to do that

If people prefer the game to look better, but have a harder time because the grass, thats there decision isn't it.

And as for consoles, everyones on a level playing field already, and as far as i remember crossplay is opt in, so they can choose to not play against people who may have advantages if they choose

    No.

Playing on settings your pc can handle is not unfair. It's allowing as many people to play your game as possible by having different graphical presets for it (and since this is pc exclusive you can edit game files too for more fps, or as I've done, increase the settings to what i call Ultra+ because everything looks gorgeous like it. Only thing I've kept on low are the shadows so I don't have a disadvantage because I can't see through the dark very well).
