Why in god's name is billy's heat meter getting more changes?
It was already leaked by you know who, 4.1.2 will include changes to his heat meter. It's fine now I don't get the incentive behind this change?

It feals like the overheat add-ons are kind useless, but I hope it continues this way cuz my god if they nerf him again...

Well the overheat is so forgiving that you never actually overheat..so why even have the mechanic exist in the first place? I think that's the issue.

Yes the mechanic should not exist because it wasn't even his issue, the issue was his addons and these were fixed.
If you put a terrible change and it doesn't work at all, don't try and make it work, just take it out.

The overheat meter that did go live was pretty much useless nobody was getting overheated ever. It's totally normal that they reduced the heat dissipation rate. You guys are overdramatizing everything.

According to the patch notes, it's back to 3.5 charges per second for heat cooldown while not using the chainsaw, the same as the ptb. However, heat still doesn't build up while feathering and it still decreases heat while in various cooldowns like missing a chainsaw.
It should be better than the PTB but we just have to see how it plays out. I thought that 5 charges per second cooldown was too much but maybe they should've went to a value like 4 instead of going back to the PTB value.

It needed to be tweaked back honestly. The old numbers would cool off the chainsaw wayyyy too quickly.

The devs REALLY don't like to be wrong. Billy. Doesn't. Need. An. Overheat. Your vision is not what the majority of players seem to want, no matter how much you try to force it. You're balancing and designing a different game than the one people are trying to play at this point.

They introduced a limit to his power which doesn't really limit him. It's like it's non existent. The Devs spent time and money on this and they want it noticed.

The overheat is mostly there to stop 2 of the most annoying and stupid things on billy that would make an unfun game:
Camping the hook with the chainsaw up
Patrolling between 2 hooks with infinite sprrinting, meaning that you can almost never unhook and be safe at the same time, especizlly on very open maps
Could also say the annoying way to chase a survivor with your chainsaw ready to go, without letting it go until theyre in a straight line and the hit is free, but heh, the overheat is too forgiving for this
Otherwise yes the overheat mechanic doesnt bring much, but im glad he took a nerf in

Yeah, it's ego at this point. Rather than admit the mechanic was failed and unnecessary, they're going to force it. It's the same reason Nurse still has a cooldown despite it being despised by every Nurse player.

Behaviors logic:
- put in a system most don’t want (overheat) to fix an unrelated issue (a couple very strong addons)
- find that the overheat that has nothing to do with the addons that needed changing doesn’t really overheat
- put out an update to justify the money spent designing a mechanic no one wants to show the bosses the money was well spent
- get a pat on the back and get told “pretty good job so far”

i dont get the nerf in the first place he needed 2 addon changes, 2 instead we get punished for using your power in fun and risky ways that are both fun to use and verse
there was only one time when i didnt like versing a billy, because i was versing battleguy with crack addons needless to say i ######### myself
id still take that over spirit any day tho

as a billy main im not really that bothered by the 3.5 heat dissipation but i can see why others are upset. this change punishes bad chainsaw usage so people who can't reliably hit survivors with the chainsaw will feel the overheat mechanic but people who can play billy well won't really be affected by the change.
they basically raised billy's skill floor.
