Why turn off the new mach making?

*edit* I'm not saying it's not broke I'm just asking for other view points

So before you say negative and toxic stuff in your replies, hear me out. My region was one of the first ones that the new MMR was being tested on when they were testing the new MMR. The first week I was livid and vowed to never play and uninstalled the game only to re install it later due to boredom. I was pretty upset because I didn't understand why a tank 16 killer was going against red rank survivors. I would play wraith p2lv35 rank 16 and get survivors rank 1-2 survivors. So then I would play doctor lv20 and still go up against much higher rank survivors than I. But I said ######### it I spent so much money on this game why quit. Then suddenly I started getting 2k or 3 k against red rank survivors and stuff. And the game became more challenging and fun. And I had to actually try hard with characters that I played often which made me get better . And with the characters that I barley played the match was pretty even.

Now I barley play survivor. And I will admit when I did the match sucked but I don't play one survivor enough to allow the match making algorithm to do anything with the data. Even with initial shock and outrage xbox players had with the new MMR we still had to deal with it if we wanted to play. After 2 weeks I saw most MMR post Amongst xbox players were positive. Then it gets put on pc and ps4 and it gets turned off because it wasn't the perfect immediate fix they wanted. Like I said I don't play enough of survivor to speak on that maybe some of you can enlighten me on that aspect but in general. If people would give it longer than a few weeks they might actually like it

Because new players are getting screwed over by this, and you can't hurt the influx of players to your game.

It was not working as intended.

I've been playing it on Xbox (so for at least a few weeks of it being "official" and it sounds like MMR has been tracking before they even implemented it so probably at least a month); it was a hot mess

I've talked about it before, I basically just started going after Adept Achievements with MMR being in play because I would constantly get put in with baby killers/survivors (I'm a Red Rank 1 in both) so I never wanted to risk using good items and offerings for the few games when it actually seemed to be working. I would guess that 80% of my games were against baby ranks and that might be me being generous if I'm being completely honest...

By going Adept Hunting, I was at least somewhat leveling the playing field for my opponents and giving myself an artificial challenge but this is only going to stay fun for so long.

Because brand new players were being put against players with thousands of hours again and again. That's a sure fire way to make sure your brand new players become ex players. You can't introduce something so incredibly broken and keep telling people to just hang in there as they are getting stomped every single game. Also It seems it only worked for some. Some streamers even who play the game for hours and hours every night were still getting put against babies. It was incredibly broken.

The new matchmaking algorithm worked fine for me personally, but obviously there were a bunch of people who got lopsided matches. OhTofu, one of the top killers in the game, had a slew of matches when he was playing as Billy where he got paired against full groups of brand new players. Something about the algorithm either didn't seed people properly intitially or isn't rating certain killers or players properly for some reason. (Tofu speculated that it may be killer specific since his other matches with other killers were more reasonable, so maybe there's something about chainsaw scoring events that's the issue there?)

Seems they wanna work on it without us having to use the current version which has sparked a lot of negative feedback on here.

At least for me it seemed like it was finally starting to work well the last couple of days. Unfortunately, it took much longer than the "10 games" that it's supposed to take. Even taking into account everyone in the lobby having to have done 10 games it took a LONG time for my games to start feeling normal.

While that's a temporary issue for people already way into the game (who will whine but ultimately put up with it) it is a very critical issue for new players and could put them off the game completely forever, which is what you REALLY don't want.

Something about their parameters was clearly off, they need to fine tune it better so that new players only get matched with other new players and it tests the waters more gradually, rather than "well you won your last match, guess you're ready to go against rank 1s."
