Do you ever let the killer hook you?

Cheers
Cheers Member Posts: 3,426
Ok, occasionally I will let the killer kill me, on one condition.

If they message me (saying I can get hatch), or just don't hit me when they get right behind me, I instead run to a hook and point at it. I'm even high rank, but that brings up my question.

Do you ever do it, and if yes, at what rank?

Me: Rank 3 and yes I do.

Sometimes, if they had a particularly bad trial and gave up without disconnecting. I let a Nurse kill me under these circumstances, and told the player not to give up as the Nurse was very difficult to learn.

Yes, when i reach toxic ranks, which are mostly higher up, i'll suddenly just suck really hard at this game and die almost as if i wanted to.

Depends...if the killer was really bullied that round and is playing a killer that is hard to grasp (Nurse, Hag, etc...) I’ll let them kill me. I’ll point to a hook and sacrifice myself. One time I was farming points with a team and I was playing Nurse and this Feng player was feeling particularly nice and let me kill her.

I usually do when the killer hasn't got many hooks during the game or if a killer comes to farm when multiple people have DC'ed.

I'm a killer main. I float between rank 10 and 5. I play a very fair game. No camping. Rarely hooking the same person back to back. Often times, i black pip. Sometimes i have the chance to 4k but instead i'll take them to the hatch. Less than 50% say 'thanks' or even a 'gg' (i'm on a PS4 so theres no chat. Only messages) but i have NEVER seen a survivor 'return the favor'. While there are quite a few toxic killers, killers in general are far more considerate and fair-minded than most every survivor. Survivors for the most part are rude, selfish and entitled little shits. Even though i already know this, i refuse to let it change my playstyle and will continue to be fair killer.

If my team was ######### and dies with three gens left to go , I'll go spin under a hook, why make the killer spend time hunting me down? Likewise, if my friend and i are in a game and two members dc (whether at the start or during game) we'll do the same, they got cheated out of kills so it makes sense to us.

Which is why its kind of upsetting to be branded with the rest when other survivors are twits. On the other hand, when we do this 90% of killers are indeed grateful. As i have said before, the non toxic survivors can do little about our toxic brethren, but we do what we can in the games we play.

When i see a SWF team and theres one tbagging d'striking flashlighter, its safe to assume they're ALL tbagging d'striking flashlighters at heart. I don't hesitate to judge the whole team based on the one guy. When you run with dirty dogs, you shouldn't object to the fleas you catch. I'm sure they knew the guy was a douchebag prior to teaming up with him. They chose to anyway.

One time someone on my team got on my nerves so I ran up to killers I let him down me and hook me because this girl wouldn't shut up how women are fearless and always go for the save and men are cowards. All I could think is the game is about survivoring and when I lack jukes sure I'll come to save you and die. Worth it right? So I let her die the game after I let myself get hooked and killed myself on hook the left the game unsure if accidentally dc'd. I just wanted to get out of the game with her. She messed my head and whole day.

Did it a few times after i was matched to play with 3 toxic kids messing with the wrong Killer. There isnt really a point trying to survive when your team gets killed before 2 gens are done. Just wanna go ahead for the next match. Good thing that most Killers decided to let me escape. Probably knowing how ######### that situation is for the solo.

In my entire playtime, that happened maybe twice when I played killer^^

Survivors only give me a free hook because they are done with a bad game and just want to go to another one.

I will most of the time if some idiot farms me for WGLF tokens or just does a horrible rescue. I normally at least try, even when my teammates are doing stupid things, just because I want at least some Bloodpoints.

If someone comes racing in with the Killer on their heels, no borrowed time, and just rips me off the hook, I'll usually crouch there and wait til the Killer has time to down me and hook me. If I'm in the Struggle phase, I'll usually let go about 2-3 steps before they reach me just so I can appreciate the view of them getting smacked by the Killer before I head to the Entity's embrace.

Disclaimer: this may be a long post! With that said I’ve 3 cases where I do this:

    1. If the killer has tons of DCs at the beginning of a match I’ll max my boldness points and then point at the hook and let them kill me

    2. If I have terrible teammates that die or fool around and I’m only able to get a gen done then  I’ll do the same as the first situation

    3. If the killer is waiting at hatch I will either do a gen (next to the hatch) or I’ll let them chase me to max out my boldness points. I’ll NEVER do a hatch standoff it’s too boring I’d rather die and give them the kill!

I let survivors farm as much as they want if there are 3 or more players. I have survivors who are super grateful and do the "point" emote to the hook pretty often. I never kill them because I try to avoid double pips like the plague though.

Same here. Though if I escape a chase because of a glitch I'll always offer myself up to be hooked. For example, i had a Myers down me next to the hay bale on the ramp down from the side of a harvester, and he couldnt pick me up. I immediately moved away from the hay bale so he could grab me. He downed me fair and square. I've also had one case where a trapper was stuck on a tree, so I let him down me and pick me up to get free.

I would let the killer kill me if the other survivors are being toxic.

Yes during events sometimes, if they look like they're bypassing normal hooks I'll stop wiggling and let them get the event hook.

    Yep!
Sometimes you can just tell they're not having a good match, maybe they have a daily, maybe the team is full of jerks, etc. If I notice this I'll typically go and find them and point at a hook.
Especially during events. Last event there were times they didn't get a single hook, the rest of the survivors were all spamming vaults by the exit and I was like... nah. Went and found them hiding in the basement waiting for everyone to leave and just pointed at the hooks.

I really don't mind not escaping. I still pip either way, and whether I'm playing survivor or killer I take pity on people that are either obviously new (Seriously, even at rank 6 solo I get matched with rank 20 no perk killers.. how?), playing someone they usually don't for a daily, etc.

when i dont want to play the game i will but i always 4% WHEN TRYING TO KILL MYSELF. i usually do it when its a 3 person game. if i have an item i just hope my power goes out since "THEORETICALLY" if it does it saves my item.

If it seems like they are doing a daily (I play console so seeing a Nurse player is a dead giveaway) or they seem like they are going for an achievement. I may also let them kill/hook me during an event if they didn't get all their hooks or in a game if its a complete 1 sided match for survivors. I may also give a hook/kill if teammates were being extremely toxic.

Before I started playing a healthy mix of both sides I was strongly killer oriented and never had a sympathetic hook from a survivor. I figure since I know the pain I can offer some pity.

I play to have fun so I often let survivors go in situations where the above mentioned are reversed towards survivors.

i only let killers hook me in two situations:
    1st: were farming
2nd: its an event (like the upcomming halloween event)

i still want my 5k escape points, so i wont just give a killer the kill... i mean, my characters wont level themselves up!

I once had a meg give me a hook. 4 man escape but I looked like a sad clown so she was nice.

Basically, this. If the game goes to ######### really early, I feel like it's rude to waste each-others time. Just accept the de-pip and let's move on with our lives. A lot of killers will give me the hatch out of appreciation when I do this, so it's usually worth it.

Also, sometimes being hooked is the strategic thing to do. If I know that someone else is hooked that's better at looping than I am, I might offer myself up if it's not death hook so someone else can save him/her, especially if the killer has to walk quite a ways to get to a hook and can't reasonably defend both.

As long as I'm not getting my arse tunneled or facecamped and if they dont do that and get no kills, then sure yeah. If they piss me off in any way I'll just go without looking back at them. If they are good and get genrushed then I really just let them get me since it's sad. Same concept when I play Nurse, if the last guy is good, I'll let him get the hatch or do the last gen(s) and escape.

One time there was this Billy on xbox that I looped, he was so frail and not made for the high ranks. I had to let him kill me I looped him really bad and he was geniunely trying to win. I also offered up a teammate by getting him to come too the Billy was happy about it.

If I am not stacking up blood points and not going for daily rituals, I will probably let myself be sacrificed.

If the killer farms, I will try my hardest to get the killer to sacrifice me. I was in a match only an hour ago against a P2 Michael where 2 survivors immediately DC'd. The third person killed themselves before I could save them.

Michael let me fill my vial and do all the gens before he led me to the hatch. I ran him to one event hook 4 times before he actually killed me. Poor guy did not want to kill me and was shaking his head the whole time.

He had some really good add-ons as well and they were wasted on this match. He was really nice afterward as well.

Happens a lot in the event. I don't mind helping people get event hooks if they have some chill.

Doesn't happen often outside of that.

If I have to leave, I'll just put myself in a locker and go AFK.

I did suicide on hook a bunch during the event to get into the next match quicker, but that was after the Killer had chased and downed me normally.

If a Survivor tries to give me a free sacrifice after I've had tough match, I'll just slug them and look for other Survivors. I don't need sympathy when I'm down; it just makes me feel weaker, strange as that sounds.

I won't let a killer hook me because there's a chance he'll go unfriendly the second after and facecamp me/kill my friends in front of me.

As killer, I more than happily take the opportunity when survivors think I'm farming, if they group up near a hook it's a quick and easy game.
