Hear me out a killer idea
Okay, so this dragging into the fact that one of the first horror games I played was until dawn. So what if we got a windigo? They'd have perks mostly to do with hearing, increased movement etc.
It would also be a way to maybe add in some Native American characters for the players who want that to happen without it being like "heres a random character, enjoy!" But more to do with the lore and actual culture behind it.
Thoughts?

What characters in until dawn were native american? I haven't played the game in a while but I don't remember any native american characters.

Not the characters themselves, but the Windigo, if im not mistaken, was from the Native Americans Folklore. Just thought it be nice to expand on the idea, really.

I think Until Dawn just made the OP think of the Wendigo. And Wendigos show up a lot in Native American folklore. I think it's, like, Inuit folklore, specifically, but I could be mistaken.

Thats true, I thought they were talking about a survivor. If we were to get a native american killer I'd like to see a DBD take on the skin walker.

No, I think they meant a survivor, too. But like, have a chapter with a Wendigo killer and native American survivor.

I'm stupid lol. I thought we were talking about the licence as well, I'd be fine with a native american survivor, my big worry is perks and backstory.

Yeah. I feel like perks would present a bigger issue than lore tbh. Theres a lot of places to pull lore from, but perks would be harder especially given that windigios rely on sound more. Though we could get something like echo location, they scream land might get a general area of survivors within a certain amount of space.😅

No worries, I've screwed up on wording more times than I can count. As for perks I actually don't think its that big a problem. If they were able to make Billy and Bubba have unique perks, they could give the wendigo some justice. My only hope is that more than one perk is viable, that seems to be an unfortunate trend with most killers.

Yeah, I hope that they wojld make good perks for the killer and survivor that were viable.
Someone in another thread suggested increased cleansing for totems and being able to track the killer (maybe it could be like scratch marks for the killer, or like OoO but without the killer seeing them)
Hopefully some good perks for the killer too. I dont play killer much, but I really want a good windigo build if we ever got one.

That'd be cool, perhaps they could have their own hex perk that killers have to find and destroy. I like the idea of the killer leaving trails a survivor could track. As for killer I think a perk for extra totems that block stuff and gaining a buff for how many survivors are injured would be fitting.

Reverse hexs, i like it. And the trail to track would be nice, cause i always manage to be walking behind the killer somehow😅
So totem perks like the Plagues generator blocker? And maybe like a 5% buff to speed or meter awareness of survivors for each one injured? Or even a terror radius reduction of 5%?

Yeah, kinda like what you mentioned. Though a speed increase might be a bit to much. I think a reduced terror radius or louder noises could be cool.

Wendigo have been discussed before. And I seen plenty argue Hag is that fact. Considering her back story and cannibalism. Much like Until Dawn's lore of their story lore. Ojibwe, Eastern Cree, Westmain Swampy Cree, Naskapi, and Innu lore (Google).
Question is, since there is a Billy, and then Bubba. Would BHVR again rehash Hag for a Wendigo. Albeit, opposing to The Hag's transportation abilities. And her Mori kill. Which Mori Kills are hated for.
And still exists in DBD Lore and gaming style. As Demogorgon was able to run along walls in Stranger Things, even run on all 4s for speed. But in DBD was dumber down to jog bipedal and jump a short dash distance.
A wendigo by aesthetics would be A Hag mixed with A Demogorgon in this style of game play.
Although Oni just got a Minotaur skin. Still is Oni. So in essence, Demo would just as fair get a wendigo skin.

I had the same Idea!!! Wendigo as a killer would be cool and Sam is probably the best Idea as a survivor.

Sam would def be best, but I doubt they would ever get license, imo, but the chapter/pack could be full native american inspired stuff and that would be 10/10 good stuff.

I was suggesting Sam bc she wasn't part of the prank and well, she was a good character overall. She's pretty much invincible in game and can only die at the end . She's a fan favourite so yeah.. :) I guess if they don't get a license for her they can only introduce a chapter including only the killer like how they did with Ghostface or Leatherface.

Wendigo comes from Chippewa stories, not inuit. And Skin walkers are Navajo.....those tribal lands aren't even anywhere close on the map...In Navajo stories skin walkers are people using evil powers to turn into skin walkers. In Chippewa stories, the wendigo is just purely a demon in the forest....

Alright, cool, thanks. I seem to remember a story of the Wendigo consisting of people getting snowed into a cave, and cannibalism. Am I remembering a different creature?
Also, I didn't mean to sound like I was comparing the Wendigo to a skin walker.
