If you're ok with this question:

What killer did you stay away from, but you ended up maining them after awhile?

For me it was Nurse

After this whole MMR thing, and Crossplay is out maybe you can share your opinion/story you know?

Huntress, I despised her at first because her hatchets felt weird, but now that I learned how to use them she feels really nice. Other than some ######### indoor maps she is really good.

Doc. He never interested me, still doesn't, but then I found out how many bloodpoints he could generate viably with BBQ and Distressing. So, when I'm short on BP, I pull him out.

That honestly hasn't happened to me. The opposite has happened a few times. Mained Pig for a while, but her play time has slowly dwindled. I thought I'd love playing as Hag, and while she's not bad I just haven't played her much.

Ghostface. As a sort-of Myers main I envied his more complex and powerful ability, but found their playstyles were different enough that I enjoy them both quite a lot now.

Hag. First killer on console but got tired of her mechanics after playing other killers. On PC I was really hesitant to play her due to the issues I felt I’d seen on PlayStation. Found her massively more enjoyable.

I cant really say Ive stayed away from killers. I have tried them all and I have my disliked killers.

However I have had the opposite happen. I used to be a Legion Main, but after PH came out, my time as him dwindled to nothing.

Yeah that still counts! You shrug a killer off, after awhile, you pick them up again and repeat. I think we might've had our fair share 😅

Never played Bubba till his rework, now I’m having trouble stopping. I already got three faces.

Honestly Demogorgon. At first I didn't really care too much for them, but after getting more used to using both shred and the portals I enjoy them a whole lot.

I didn't main this Killer per-say, but I stayed away from them for the longest time because of how bad they were.

Who might they be you may ask? Pre-Rework Freddy. When I was new to DBD I refused to buy his DLC because of how bad I thought he was. This mostly came from others telling me and a few matches with him when the Splinter Offerings were still usable. As a result, I have a lot of Smoking Splinters from my earlier days!

Anyways, I never gave Freddy a actual chance with his add-ons or perks enabled, so a long time passed where I had every DLC (at the time) except Freddys. Then, one day, I just decided to buy his DLC to complete the list and then benched him again for another month. After that month passed, I gave him a try and actually fell in-love with the Killer! I never had so much fun with a Killer since I mained Myers right at the start of my journey in DBD.

He was a lot of fun to play and I do miss how he used to be. That's not to say he didn't deserve a buff/rework, but there was just something about him that really made every game enjoyable. But unfortunately, I don't hold this same regard to Post-Rework Freddy unfortunately and have since benched him again as a result.

There was just something about playing such a low-tier Killer that was fun. I loved Sniper Freddy and the overall experience Pre-Rework Freddy gave. My favorite thing about him was being next to Survivors that would hide in plain site, since nobody really knew what to do when Freddy was nearby. As a result, I have a few funny screenshots from the past because of this.

Overall, I do miss old Freddy... But I have recently found enjoyment with The Clown so... there's that.

    Then yeah: Wraith.

Hillbilly just has faster speed & a standard insta-down, and it was also dark times for Wraith as his Add-on arsenal kinda sucked.

I went back to him after his "rework", to see what he's all about.

And i don't think i loved his new stuff, i think i just fell in love with his style.

    Plague.

I thought she was the weakest killer because, like a "one-track minded ignoramus", I didn't like the idea that the survivors were "completely in control" of her power. I kept thinking the only thing good about her was when she gets Corrupt purge, which is the strongest ranged damage in the game IMO, but of course she was frequently denied that power if the survivors refused to cleanse, which felt stupid to me at the time.

However, after deciding to bite the bullet and play her for a while I came to realize how wrong I had been. While I was partially correct about Corrupt Purge and its limitations, I had been completely ignoring the power of Vile Purge. People often refer to it as having a game long NOED effect, or perma-EW3 Myers, but I find it to be much better than those things. Not only does it put all the survivors in a 1 hit down state, It also makes them easier to see, and easier to hear while simultaneously defeating Iron Will, all Healing perks, and Med-kits. This results in chases that take half as long as any other M1 killer does, and gives you great audible and visual tracking! On top of that, If the survivors do choose to cleanse instead of Toughing it out while broken and easier to track, I get the best ranged damage in the game and can make them suffer even more.

Overall, I ended up making a favorite build that puts survivors between a "Rock and a Hard Place" and have been dominating with her consistently. She's become my go-to girl to main because she's actually very powerful if you know how to use her, and constantly underestimated by survivors because of how infrequently they encounter her. I regret that I totally misunderstood her, feel like such an idiot for not noticing these things about her sooner, and have become a ruthless and proud Plague main ever since. 😁🤮

I tried Bubba a few times before rework. Hated it didn't play him for a long time. The rework came out and I love playing Bubba now. He's still difficult to play without the best addons against high mmr. He is so satisfying to play though I can't get enough. He's my favorite atm.

I always wanted to play michael since i grew up watching holloween, but after i hit level 40 on him i got kinda fizzled out on him. So ive actually picked up bubba and demogorgan recently after the rework.

Bubba is my go to now, i usually play huntress, so it feels weird not zoning survivors and more often than not ill lose to a really good 4 man. But its just fun to chainsaw sprint at people. Only downside is that im learning a new way to run tiles now, so its taking time to figure it put. On the other hand i dont use PWYF or Nemesis, so its my own fault. But i like for everyone to have fun

Trapper, I played most killers before I even went near him once. He's one of the killer's I'm better at now though, partly thanks to watching otz.

I stayed away from many killers (I'm on switch) but one of the killer I stayed away and loved playing was Hag, it's funny to bait survivors dropping a pallet to then reappear behind them to knock them out, it's just fun

Nurse. She makes me motion sick. I can't play her or watch anyone else play her.

And additionally, Legion. Recently, the cooldown on his power (the stun) has been giving me a headache :(

I don't get the question, but I used to hate playing hag, now I use her kinda often but not enough to main her, I main Oni since he got released.

Hag, to be fair this was back when she was a solid F tier. I always liked her in concept but she was not good.

Deathslinger. Wierd, I know, since he came out so recently, but I am tired of playing weaker killers that get 5 minute games, so it's that or Spirit. And I also like Spirit, though I've always played a few games with her a week.

Cal me bad all you want, it's not fair that survivors win by playing ultra safe while their team does gens. I like m1 killers. I don't like awful matches where I'm basically providing some SWF team a power trip. If anyone's tripping on power, it's gonna be me. Or I'm gonna mess around with a bunch of chill survivors and practise my trick shots til I 4k or they escape. All I want is longer matches, not free kills.

I never stayed away, but Nursie. I mained ghost face till I started playing at top % which as you can imagine was unbearable, so I learnt nurse. There is no killer I enjoy as much as nurse, although sometimes I do tend to get a little bit tired of only playing her.

Ah I see! And the question in itself was basically: "A character you didn't like, but you ended up playing them later on and started to like them"

I don't main any killer, basically each night I play whichever killer I have my oldest daily mission with a few times. But I guess Pyramid Head has grown on me a bit? I never played Silent Hill so the lore doesn't really mean anything to me (I saw the movie recently out of curiosity and it was ok) but I do like his look and abilities.

Never Nurse though, I can't stand her at all. If anything I dislike her more than when I first played.

So I got it right, then yeah it was hag I hated playing her but she is really damn strong when her web is up, she is not fun for the other side though because of that.

Hmmm, I didn't like Demo much at first. Now I have a healthy appreciation for him.

The only one I've really stayed away from so far is Nurse and it's probably gonna stay that way. Her exhaustion phase messes with my eyes too much.

I didnt think id like oni or demogorgon, demo cause, ha trash perks, ha trash add ons, ha stranger things and ha mid killer. Like I was strongly against demo for awhile before I just realized that hes cool. I didnt think highly of demon dash, mostly cause I wasnt comfortable, and then I was comfortable.

Good question! I despised Bubba at first but really grew to love him once I had the right build. And after his buff he's even more fun to play with! However it's definitely a bummer no longer having the MMR up and running because it was lenient with Killers you had never played with before, and there's nothing worse than getting a sweaty team for a killer you're just learning the ropes with.

Ah been waiting for this. Billy. As a console player, I attempted one match as billy prior to mmr. Of course at high ranks, with a new killer, I got chicken mc bullied. However, after mmr came out I tried him again. lo and behold, I learned to get good with him and learn his curve and now use him as my rank up tool. tbh, I kinda miss mmr. gave me chances to experiment with a fair chance

Hag. I could never reliably land teleport hits, but I learned something and changed something else:

1.) Her "trap range" increasing add-ons are actually a nerf because triggering the trap from the edge makes it easier to get away for a survivor, and the wider they are the easier it gets for them, so I've stopped using them, this has had a measurable impact on the number of teleport hits I land.

2.) I made a mouse teleport macro and a mouse profile specifically for her. Basically it's a toggle to spam the Activate Ability button (M4 for mine, which is pretty awkward for spamming) when it's tapped once, and will turn off when tapped again. This is pretty good when I know they're about to run in to a trap, but not great if a bunch trigger at once because I will start teleporting to older ones which are actually further away. Still it's greatly improved over how it was.
