We already moved on from rank based matchmaking, now we are with mmr.
Its still trash cause I just played Oni, never played him and I dont play killer yet i had 3 rank 1 survivors and they all said "gg ez." "noob killer." "you suck ass."
does that sound like mmr is working?

I'm a grey rank killer too and MMR matched me with a lobby with two purples and two reds, so MMR wasn't reliable either.
Hopefully the Devs will come up with a system in the future that will work for all players.

The mmr its trash for new players. It always been like this. You gotta endure through it.
Stop caring about rank and practice. Practice one assassin that you prefer and other that you like and its top tier. As usually the survivors don't have much time to tea bag against those.
There are other techniques to deal with high level players on a SWF that you will know when you get more into the game. Things like:
- the 3 last gens should be close.
- if they are a 4 man SWF the first hook should be protected. Hooking close to those 3 last gens its just perfect.
- Mori.
And its easier to start into the game as a survivor.

thing is the longer you wait for a match, the system opens up the window for whom you will be matched against. this is for both survivors and killers. you will never know that it did this or when it does it. so you might queue up fairly quickly, but then you get a lobby of purple and red rank, it's possible that those survivors had been waiting a while.
this is how it has done it since the beginning.
