Cross Play...

So who thought it was a bright idea to allow crossplay between consoles and PC?

Now, I'm all for crossplay between consoles, because it increases the pool of players playing at any given time...

HOWEVER... Who thought it was a bright idea to include PC players as well? I've played on both PC and console, and I know that those on PC have great advantages... From better performance, FPS, and more settings options overall, to even the advantage of mouse and keyboard vs. controller.

It's absolutely ridiculous that this was an idea ever.

And you can look through my posts. I rarely complain. I haven't complained about nerfs or buffs to either side. I don't complain about "survivor rulebook" or "killer rules"... But this goes beyond tweaks for balance or whatnot. This is an absolute oversight of how playing on PC is an advantage compared to consoles.

Talk about not thinking things through.

You have the option to turn it off if you're not enjoying it.

If you don't like it, turn it off. Tbh, i like it. I love the competition as XBOX Killer against PC Players. Andwhen i play Surv, it's a great thing to play with my Friends across every Plattform. ^^

Indeed. I'm using crossplay because I want fast games in a quantity vs quality mindset, but those globes are bad. Like, consistently bad.

No offense crossplay players, I'm glad you're here but oh my god.

I've had a few matches with it on as killer and the fps is certainly a problem against pc player's especially on a map like hawkins, add in dedicated servers too where i've downed someone and they magically teleport a couple meters away on the ground while i'm in an attack cooldown.

    1) You can turn it off.

    2) Not everyone on PC plays with a mouse and keyboard. Plenty of people use a controller (yeah I know, that sounds weird, but lots of people do, either just for survivor, or on both sides)

    3) I, for one, am glad for the bigger pool of players. The only bad thing about it is the lack of post-game chat.

Well, as a killer, I had to step up my game quite a bit, console survivors are waaaay more tryhard (not that's bad, they just are really focused on gens).

As a survivor, don't know man, bad teammates are everywhere, PC, console...

Would it be a good idea to select what platforms you compete against?

One thing I've noticed survivor side is that globe survivors tend to follow you around like a lost puppy, as opposed to the PC player "One player on every gen" mindset. It would be okay...but then they miss skill checks. Okay, no big deal I can run the killer around. After 1-5 minutes I'll usually go down, then end up in struggle phase and see my team not doing what they're supposed to.

Even if the killer is camping I probably have a pallet/vault nearby and already have an escape route ready, just get me down aaaaaaaaa.

    reeeee

I enjoy the fast queuing and being able to play with my friends from a different console, however facing pc killers is a little annoying knowing they have a greater advantage to the game them me, a Xbox player.

They should add something where you can choose to not cross play with certain consoles or pc itself or something, idk.

Huh. And I heard survivors were more salty.

Do you not take 'just turn it off' for an answer? If you don't, then it's just you being a bit of a baby. Either way, I kinda like the playerbase now being fused together. I don't really see options to intentionally turn off crossplay as well!

... Course, what with the current state of the game, I might start seeing larger differences in meta and balance between Console and PC now that Crossplay is here...

I mean, it's new. I'm a bit social and I want to meet new people (even though I can't talk to them). I'm going to go on a branch and assume just because globes are bad now that they won't always be. Maybe they're adjusting to our playstyles. Being annoyed by them ≠ giving up on them.

I'm not like, actually angry but it's like if you're playing a party game like super smash bros and you're doing a 2v2 and your partner just keeps taunting and goofing off kinda deal. I'm sure they'll take it more seriously in time.

Well maybe, just maybe I want to play with friends that are on PC? Crazy concept.

Hmm. It's unlikely that PC nerds have friends but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I know I don't have any. In order to play with the PC crowd you must memorize every map and perk in the game, understand all tiles and be able to read all situations at an expert level before you have one hour of playtime. Then you must drink three (3) energy drinks and be immune to all horror this game has to offer, hit every great skill check, instinctually avoid all killer projectiles and dead hard over bear traps out of habit.

It's as easy as clicking a flashlight.

Yes, sure thing... But then we have the wait time issue.

Or they could give options of what platforms you'd like to crossplay with. A simple checkbox type list, listing the platforms, and allowing you to choose.

I play console, and anybody with a brain knows that PC has huge advantages... So why give two choices... Unfair fights, or horrid wait times.

Why not allow more customizability? It really isn't that hard. Pretty much common sense, with a little bit more coding.

But hey, you guys that see everything in black n white keep at it. Keep on thinking inside that little box, justifying stupid, lazy "solutions" with an even dimmer mindset.
