RIP Surveillance
I guess "Bug fixes" are code for Killer nerfs.

Da fuk they do to Surveillance? Ain't my Piggy got enough problems already???

It no longer works on gens that regress to 0.
0 -
Making it 100% useless. The only thing that made it good was it would signal when someone touched a gen you had regressed.
10 -
To be fair, it was how the perk worked originally. At some point it started highlighted regressed gens that hit 0, but that change was never stated in a patch notes as far as i know.
18 -
Dammit! Bet no one runs it now. Her snoot is already hurtin... Man she needs an update all around and badly. Ever play her on console? Inside? Now that's horror
0 -
It was a pretty unnecessary change, the perk was only decent before. This hurts it a lot.
11 -
Yeah but how often do your regressed gens hit 0% though?
7 -
It was a bug...
causing gen that have been regressed fully to still be white
Now that won't happen... perk still works the same
If gens go from white to red that means the are at 0
4 -
But you won't knew when a survivor starts working on it again.
12 -
Pretty often if you use Pop or Ruin.
6 -
if it's regressed to 0 why does it matter
5 -
It was only good with Surge or Ruin anyway, I definitely won't.
1 -
It changed red only when someone touched it after a gen had been regressed no matter what % it was at. That's how it works right now, they're nerfing the ######### out of it for nothing and calling it a bug fix.
1 -
Well this sucks :(
And to those asking why it matters once it hit 0, it allowed me to know that the gen hasn't been touched. It happens a lot where I've been able to flat out ignore gens because they were ALL white as the survivors were just being cowards and hiding instead of playing.
Now I'm stuck letting those kind of survivors take the game hostage because I can't just ignore gens anymore rather than being able to focus on finding the people playing a glorified Hide & Seek game...

My favourite info perk : (
at least my Pyramid head will like this new hex relocation perk for ruin. And i can imagine Wraith will especially like the Dragon perk.
0 -
It turns yellow if a survivor starts repairs before regression reaches 0 for 8/10/12 seconds
0 -
Why... ######### you devs. Just completely cut the legs out from a decent perk that required other perks to work already?
6 -
Surveillance is a great perk after the rework, stop complaining for a side-effect that came from a bug. The perk still will be useful and no, it won't "hurt it a lot".
4 -
The devs really want us to use the same 4 perks every single time, it seems.
Why nerf a perk that is not even that popular nor overpowered?
9 -
Can someone tell me when exactly the "bug" was introduced? How long have we had it working like this? I feel like its worked this way for a long time. Why randomly just change this now if it was something that really just made the perk better but not even good enough for most to use.
1 -
I believe it started happening after the ruin rework.
0 -
You're right, can't hurt the dead.
1 -
Listen to the people that actually used it.
4 -
Because that's exactly how we used it as a tracking perk? If it was white, we knew we didnt have to worry about it.. if its red we knew to run to it.. but now we have to wonder if it just finished regressing or if someones working on it.
4 -
They took the laziness out of it, I guess. You still have an objective to patrol survivor objectives and make sure they don't get done. I personally think they could have gone without fixing the bug, but it makes sense why it was just a bug and not an intended feature. You're not supposed to just be able to sit back and watch gens regress from afar without ever going to check on them, I guess.
4 -
Unnecessary nerf/fix...
2 -
If a survivor is working on a gen affected by Surveillance then that gen will turn yellow for 8/10/12 seconds
also repair sound range is increased by 8m... it could save you a second or a few
0 -
Except its not a lazy perk sense even with ruin you'd need to chase survivors off of generators or pressure multiple people into going for saves over generators to even get the effect on said generator to begin with.
0 -
LOL. I use it since it worked just on a single gen and for a limited amount of time, and I thought it was good back then.
0 -
I think that's a bit of an over reaction. It's not 100% useless lol. It's still a very solid perk.
0 -
Oh, that's my point- you have to chase people off gens in the first place, and once it regresses to 0%, it sort of restarts, if that makes sense? You don't just have to do it once to have that information forever until they start working on it again. Idk how to say what I mean but I'm pretty sure we're in agreement haha
1 -
Yeah, not sure why the devs couldn’t just make it a feature. Surveillance went from a good perk to an ok one that needs other perks to work properly. The gen staying white when it hit zero told us that the Survivors were being cowards and not trying to repair the gen. Now those Survivors can just sit there and hold the game hostage because you are forced to choose between protecting the gens or letting them go to hunt down the Survivors.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a bunch of Urban Immersion Survivors complained about it and are probably in heaven with this new patch.

Simply put Surveillance was at best a low A tier perk. Now it's C tier and won't be used in lower ranks. The meta game pool just got smaller.
I usually run it over Discordance despite the community census. I'll now have to switch. RIP Surveillance:(
1 -
I mean it will still work the same you just have to patrol regressed gens and make sure they stay that way you still know if they stop actual regression
0 -
Lol that bug fix doesn't make the perk useless at all. That's kind of an overreaction. Plus I'm pretty sure that was never intended, so that was indeed a bug fix.
1 -
So I could come across a gen that is 100% innactive and that snitch of a gen will still rat my location out?
0 -
Now you run to it if it turns yellow.
1 -
Of all the comments in this thread, this one is the one I disagree with the most. :P

It was a staple on my favourite build but after it gets fixed I might just replace it with something else. It's still going to be good but it's losing the information part that was most usefull to me.
Pity really, I know it's not a nerf and just a bug fix but imao if it made the perk better then they could have just kept it. It's not like surveillance was too strong with it anyway.
0 -
Oh well back to Discordance then
0 -
I was just saying that I used the perk before its rework and now, so now I think the perk is in a good spot.
0 -
Just got as it used to work last year. But I didnt think it was a bug, i thought they buffed it. If lost some usage, its like 10% of it. Still a very strong and effective perk. Most gen are back to repaired before reaching 0.
This causes a confusion, though. Sometimes you can think someone is repairing the gen and you lost the yellow aura. So you get there and find nothing... LOL
Sometimes you will find a gen in progression, sometimes just a standing at zero gen.
Not a big problem. Fair for some counter by the survivors to this perk, that otherwise is a counter-proof localization perk.

Anything that wastes your time as a killer is a big problem.
0 -
bug fix lol.

You have a job to patrol gens. The nerf made it so you would do your job. Its still a great perk and I'll still run it.
