How long is the optimization being a problem?
I have been playing dbd since November, and the first thing i noticed is how my fps drops a lot, i already read some posts where people talk about the optmization, but i don't know if it's a recent or old problem.

This has been an issue basically since the game's been out, but it's becoming more prevalent now as the devs are adding more stuff to the game and updating a lot of assets.

Depends on your rig and/or platform I'd say. I can speak for my Xbox1 console with about 1100hrs and play both sides.
Since the last two patches fps has worsened for me, with it most noticable on the indoor maps (Lery's is a huge problem, especially with certain killers). Hitting bloodlust1, applying Sloppy Butcher, or breaking pallets all can drop frames under 30 and even as low as 10ish.
As a surv being hit with any status effect like Exposed drops frames hard. Dying on struggle happens often, even opening a chest or another being hit nearby can freeze the game up and make it think you stopped struggling.
Others can give more examples, explore the forum. It effects is all, but consoles seem to be hit hardest. Optimization for the consoles was all but promised about a year and a half back, even with a rough timeline, but not a lot except small fixes here and there, and precious little communication since then.
With the next gens looming many of us feel forgotten and about to be left behind.
Edit: I should mention the goal was a steady 60 frames, but it hardly can maintain 30 these days.

I mean, since I started playing in November 2017 it's been an issue (Freddy's dream world hated me and I'd go from 15fps to 3fps and so naturally I mained him), but apparently since June 2016.
Yes the game released June 2016.
