Cruel Limits update?

The Entity will create a 24, 30, 36 diameter ring from the completed generator in which the survivors cannot step out of for the next 10, 15, 20 seconds.

That way the killer can actually punish the survivors that finished a generator if they make it in time. Imagine seeing the large dark circle all around the area. The survivor will have to hide, and make use of whatever obstacles are within the space until the barrier disappears. They’ll have to be more careful of which gens they finish too. If they finish a gen in the middle of nowhere like in the corn they might become trapped in the cornfields, and so on.

Cool idea but I think it's a little excessive for a perk.

I'd say make it a flat 25 meter ring and just increase time since increasing ring size would make it worse

It would be cruel to limit this perk to a small area. Survivors often link tiles in a chase. Make it 128 meters and then on final gen completion block all vaults in the map for x amount of time.

You might say it's cruel, but the time it's active is limited.

I feel like the only way for this to work would be to add some detonation time.

Like , after 5 seconds of a generator being completed, a 36 meter cage manifests around that generator. The cage dissipates after a survivor is hit.

That way, survivors have some way to play around it that isn't:

just tank the hit and/or just go down because the gen is in a dead zone.

Even then, the perk isn't good, but it's also not just a free hit every time.

What do you mean depends on if there's gens in the area? OP's idea would trigger around a gen whenever that gen is finished, and Sprint Burst/Balanced Landing wouldn't matter when you can only move 18 meters away from the gen.

Then you would combine it with Bamboozle to block the windows within the ring too.

The ring wouldn’t be overpowered because it only happens 5 times for X amount of time. You can also run Bamboozle to prevent window loops, and even Bitter Mumur to see all the auras. Meaning if you see a lot of people trapped in the ring the killer can decide if it’s worth going over there.

What makes this “rework” potentially good imo is if a survivor chooses to complete a generator while other survivors are on the hook. The person who completed that gen is trapped for 30 seconds. They can’t rescue any survivor hooked outside of the ring. This would mean that someone else, if any, must go for the rescue. If not the survivors are guaranteed to sit on the hook for 30 more seconds.

This would give the killer time to actually set up, and do other things required to win without having to babysit the hooked survivors. As the moment you walk away a SWF will immediately rescue, and get the gens done simultaneously. This could create a potential dissonance in team synergy as survivors might be more careful when to finish gens, and where.

Imagine if they were to run adrenaline only to get within a ring? Lol

Exactly. The idea is to trap as many survivors within the ring or outside the ring to benefit the killer so that they can potentially make up the loss of a gen.

Like trapping survivors in the ring while someone is already on the hook, or in struggle phase. Less survivors, or no survivors can come rescue.

If an injured person is in the ring when a gen completes they can’t leave to heal themselves. Making it easier to down someone.

Say someone abused DS to finish a gen. You down them, they stab you, but now they’re trapped. You can down them, and hook them.

Survivors outside the ring can’t enter the ring either. Meaning no running across the map with sprint burst for flash light rescues, or unless they’re in the ring already. Which may be what you want.

Yes, but the trade-off is that the ring doesn’t last as long. Meaning if you want to confide the survivor into a smaller ring then the ring will vanish in a short span of time. That way it wouldn’t be OP for the survivors. It’ll last long enough to get a good lick in. Whereas the bigger ring lasts twice as long. Heck, make the 36m last 30s instead. I considered 10, 20, 30s. Haha!

Why not just block every gen for a particular time instead? Atleast helps with quick gens.

Make Cruel Limits like a mix of Tinkerer and Mindbreaker. When a generator is at 70% the killer is notified and when all survivors get off the generator all surrounding vault locations are blocked for 30 seconds in a 24/28/32 meter radius. Now the perk can be used many times in a round and it's at least "decent" even though some maps are bad.
