Since both sides are fairly equal in complaining that the other side is the power role, then....
......maybe the game is pretty balanced after all!
- Both roles can have a great game in the same match.
- Both roles can be fun.
- Both roles can be boring.
- Both roles can dominate a match.
- Both roles can get crushed.
- Both roles can be mega toxic.
- Both roles have maps that benefit or hinder them.
- Both roles have exceptionally powerful items/add-ons/offerings.
- Both roles have perks that the other side despises.
- Both roles get buffed, nerfed, and adjusted.
Yeah. Pretty balanced!

I guess they've done a pretty good job so far.

Not really. The problem is that at the highest levels Organized survivors are too strong. Depip squads prove this. At lower levels, killer is too strong. They need to do something to bridge this gap between the sweaty SWF and the casual solo players.

Rank 20 survivors waa trapper killed me!!
Rank 1 survivors clicky clicky "walking the dog" GG EZ
Rank 20 killers or as i call them Daily task killers being played by survivor mains, Hue hue killer EZ why people complain?
Rank 1 killers Sweat Sweat Sweat Sweat and only play one of 3 killers to make a single mistake and lose anyway.
TLDR survivors complaining about killers are on the really low and boosted end of the spectrum while killers complaining about survivors are at the high end of the spectrum going against people that understand the mechanics of the game and use every advantage available.

The game could theoretically be perfectly balanced when it comes to mechanics, and it could be be balanced in that both roles "can be fun". But that doesn't mean that it's actually fun. If neither roles were fun to play at all, they'd technically be balanced in that regard lol.
Personally I think the issue is that the pendulum swings way too wide. Matches almost always feel like you're completely helpless, or you're dominating. Balanced or not, that's going to cause issues when it comes to balance due to the perception alone.

Clearly you're an entitled [side I'm not playing] and [side I'm not playing] is stronger! They have [perks, SWF, gen-rushing, camping, tunnelling, slugging] and that is WAY stronger than anything [side I play as] has!
There we go. I win the most unoriginal comment award.

Wow, nailed it!
This right here was quite literally my inspiration for starting this thread!

I ######### hate how accurate you are.

I'm ######### at killer and I respect anyone who mains it.
That's all I have to say.

Interesting where did you get those facts?

i agree the game is quite balanced at the moment. I do understand why many killer players want the game to become less stressful though, since time is always against them. However, if the trial warm up does eventually arrive, I can only pray it comes with some changes that favor survivors, especially solo survivors, as well, or we'll be suffering through long killer queue times again.

I would say that 95-99% of the time it is pretty balanced between the 2 roles(perks, add-ons, items, offerings, weak/strong killers, anything else that need balancing aside). The only exception being Tournaments, from what I have seen survivors will nearly always win.
Does that mean that the game is survivor sided? Kind of, but that would require you to actually meet these tournament squads. Does it happen? Ofc. But not enough to ######### this much about it, it mostly comes down to "killer mistakes" plus playing on a killer that has a harder time punishing "survivor mistakes".
Playing on spirit/nurse? Well each mistake survivors make are gonna mean a lot more than mistakes a survivor makes vs Pig/Clown

Region and hours that you play at also come into consideration e.g. I play in Argentina-Brazil at late night, and I only go against sweaty swf. There is not a single match where at least two people are solos. So my experience is not "every so often you get this type of matches" (argument we usually get in this forum). Is pretty much every time I play. And i enjoy it, cause if i play at day i go against total potatoes. So i go from playing nurse on an extreme sweaty level to playing clown, pig, WRAITH and obliterate them.
The gap between good and casual is enormous. There are really strong balance issues at the top, but the vast majority of people don't experience them (which is a logical thing - gaussian distribution, region, time). When mmr comes into play this things will be more clear for the devs. Right now you don't have a proper way to measure a player's skill.
The debate from my point of view stands whether the game should be balance around casuals or ideal scenarios (best survivors vs best killers). But I doubt things will change soon, from what I can see they like their game just as it is. It's a pity. The game is good, but it could be great (esport)

Killer is much eaiser then solo que at red ranks imo

I agree.
Solo q still shine on giant maps like ormond or mothers dwelling tho if they know how to hold m1.

The game is definitely as balanced as it's ever been. All we need now is the proper distribution of tiles (no deadzones, no chains), better anti-stealth, better gen speeds and less powerful anti-loop killers, and the basekit of the game will actually be the best it can be. Interactive but not super unfair is the golden sweet spot for any PvP game.

clearly you never played [side I'm defending], otherwise you would know that [things OP you mentioned] is effective only against noobs, you just need to [do bones / do gens / don't tunnel / pressure gens / play fortnite] and that is completely countered.
Maybe instead of [crying on a forum / blaming Devs / asking for nerfs] you should [ask for nerfs / cry on a forum / blame Devs], and stop being a [baby killer / entitled survivor].
...now we just need to copy paste this for another 5 pages and we have a TL;DR of every discussion ever about game balance.

I was not expecting this. Sad thing is that much like my original comment, this is just too accurate.
I both love and hate this at the same time. Thanks.
