Is SWF comms very powerful? yes

does every SWF use it? no

does every SWF that does use it intend on bullying the killer into uninstalling? absolutely not

it isn't cheating, powerful and easy to abuse depending on if the SWF are terrible people sure, but it ain't cheating

As much as I dislike SWF, playing a game together is not cheating, regardless of comms or not. You act like the game is literally full of SWF 24/7. Peak times, sure there are a fair few, but even then, they're not amazing. I've gone against tons of SWF, and I'd say 10% were coordinated. Most just mess around with each other. I do it myself with my friend on SWF. We lead the killer to each other and just screw each other over. So seriously, stop attacking SWF just because you don't like them. It's no wonder this game is so damn divided.

Maybe it's because I play Overwatch and some other PvP games more than DbD, but I've gotten so used to the enemy team being partially or all on comms and relaying information, even when I am in SoloQ and not on comms with randoms, that it doesn't affect me anymore.

I always play like the enemy is on comms.

Every game I have played today on ending I have asked a simple question how many are SWF. Of those that respond 100% have said they are in SWF be it 2 man, 3 man. I think the community would be surprised on the actual scale of how many play SWF if stats were released.

Absolutely ridiculous to call comms cheating. The DBD discord should be the obvious tell.

The problem, as always, is other players being better at the mechanics of the game.

Baby-Boomer. The generation born from the WW2 generation, basically. It's an idiot way to accuse you of being old, grumpy, and out of touch.

I laugh when people call me that. I'm Gen-X. And we hate you all and laugh at you. Boomer, Millennial, Gen-Z, doesn't matter. 😂

I wouldn't say comms are ALLOWED, since you have to use a 3rd-party app like Discord to do it. If the devs wanted people on comms they'd just implement voice chat in-game (or through Steam) like every other multiplayer game on the market.

I still don't mind SWFs on comms, because mostly they're just friends who want to chat while they play. It gives them an advantage, but then again they're going to need an advantage if they're playing against me. Hi. I consider myself a really good killer.

But then again (again), you sometimes see teams on comms that are using it like a weapon; calling out my location to each other like they're playing Rainbow Six Siege. Often they'll have someone with OoO so that the entire team knows my location for the entire match. This is mostly what killer mains complain about when they're talking about SWFs on comms. It makes for very stressful matches and those survivors are always ALWAYS toxic.

So no, voice chat is not 'allowed', but outside of extreme situations we mostly don't care.

I've Made a habit for the past 6 months of checking the Steam profiles of every survivor to get an idea of how many SWFs I'm going against. The results (all from red rank games) are:

20% of games are all solo survivors.

25% of games have 2 survivors together.

30% of games have 3 survivors together.

15% of games are a 4 man squad.

Yes, I know those numbers don't add up to 100%. A lot of people keep their steam profiles private, so I don't often know for sure without asking. Also, I frequently see teams that are 2 groups of 2 and I don't know how to classify that.

Also worth mentioning that I'm seeing a lot more solo teams since crossplay.

It's encouraged by the devs in their official discord server.

    It isn't cheating.

Comms don't make bad players better.

    Get over yourself.

So you're surprised a modern multiplayer game allows and facilitates party play? There's no nicer way to put this so... for exactly how long have you been living under a rock?

I thought the last stats they put out (like over a year ago) stated over half of all survs are in at least a two-man SWF

It was a bit under half, depending on platform. Of the roughly half that were in swf I think it was less than 10% were 4 man squads. The vast majority of swf players were in 2 man's.

People playing with other people in voice communications on Discord, is not cheating!
