Do you think a rank 1 survivor should be matched with a rank 5 killer?

I remember that a dev mentioned that we shouldn't theoretically be matched together unless the difference between ranks is 8 or less, something close to that.

So, while matchmaking is not reworked... since we have a lot of players in the pool right now (cause crossplay), why don't we strict this range to 3 or something? Are there any problems doing that (excluding the small increase in queue time)? What do you guys think?

I just feel bad for this spirit. Pressing F for him.

    Of course not, but the devs won't ever fix this as they don't want survivors to wait too long for an actual better balanced match.

    Difference between rank 1 and a rank 3 killer is massive.

    Rank loosely represent skill, although leaving a lot to be desired because it's also influence by how often one plays. It also depends on what kind of killer is used. There's no definitive answer. A rank 5 playing a meta killer? There's not necessarily much difference between them and a higher ranked player.

    I remember I was stuck beetween rank 4 and 5. He will learn eventually. It is good expirience to go against better players sometimes.

    So, by the same token, do you believe that rank one killera should go against a team of rank 4, 6, 6, 8?

    We're not at all a hit-squad, just a bunch if guys who know each other, and we only had rank 1's last night.

    In general, the spirit could have been rank 1 and not played after rank reset until now. (I know I havn't played since rank reset)

    Overall I do not see a huge flaw here. It's not like rank 18 Killer got destroyed by red ranks. I did not see the game nor do I know more about the spirit. Did she have a bad game and plays normally better? Did the Survs play really good? There are too many unknowns.

    Honestly, no. The difference between rank 1 and every other rank in the game can be massive because rank 1 is the truest mix of players who don’t know what they’re doing and players that really know what they’re doing. Most of which know more than players in lower ranks despite a lot of people claiming that ranks don’t matter.

    Someone hard stuck in rank 2 likely isn’t going to stand a chance against someone who maintains rank 1.

    It would be a hard no, given the large pool of players but that's better matchmaking than some of what I've seen tbh.
