[Rant] Survivors Who Bring a Key & Map Offering
If you bring a key and a map offering, leave your ego at the door.
This game is already incredibly survivor-sided, so you are not talented for "outplaying a killer" in a SWF when you run DS, Unbreakable, & Adrenaline with a Map Offering and key-in-hand.
The amount of banter I see in post-game for securing a kill, rather than chasing full-health survivors on the far side of the map, is dumbfounding. If you are going to take every inch the game gives you to survive, then you should expect the killer to do the same and accept the outcome of the match.

Thanks for sending me to Haddonfield, Claud. You were so talented running Balanced Landing against an Adept Trapper, with that key in your hand. Too bad you didn't make it out.

See the positive side: It was not Ormond :P

hot take; moris are infinitely more powerful and game changing wheras keys have more of a requirement to use.
yes, the 3-4 man escape with a key sucks but that happens WAY less often than a game being lost (or won for the killer) due to the impact of even a single mori.
15 -
You clearly don't play killer.
Addressing the strength of Moris is neither a justification nor a a proper retort for the big ego banter in post-game.
A survivor who runs the aforemention build is no more or less talented than, say.. an Ultra-Rare Addon Freddy running Ebony Mori with Corrupt Intervention. Both have opted to play the game on "easy mode" and have sacrificed any high ground they may feel entitles them to talk trash.

I get you. I was playing Clown these days and got the Family Residence. The SWF team menaged to 3 gen themselves and get 2 of them killed only to have the other two escape with a key. On the post game chat they said that I was a baby Clown because I couldn't kill all of them. When I pointed out that they escpaed by a key they said "what were we supposed to do?". Same case of delusional survivor main, nothing new to see here.

We're not talking about moris, we're talking about keys. Get the whataboutism out of here.
5 -
Luckily, they are making offerings to cancel out a map offering. That way if you think you might be playing a 4 man Seal Team 6 SWF, you'll be able to cancel the offering.
Yeah, the tryhard SWFs really ruined keys for everyone. I mean that sincerely.
1 -
Knowing my luck I'll bring a Ward, cancel their four Ormond offerings, and still get ######### Ormond.
4 -
So true.

To be fair though, it isn't the side they're playing. It's them being that kind of person. You can't really say delusional survivor mains are typical bc you don't know what they main. Not defending these people, but survivors aren't anymore delusional than killers. Remember that it's the people, not the side. Sorry for the long post but I'm sick of hearing people say that one side is worse than the other. We're both equally as toxic.

The new ward is cancelled already by four identical offerings.

Can the map and key be used without the Gens being done? Tried to pull this stunt on Dead Dawg and couldn't find the hatch.
0 -
The new ward cancels any and all map offerings that are burned from my understanding of the wording, and if not then BHVR need to be clearer.

It's not about gameplay and or styles.
It's the clear distinction that players bring in offerings and items to better chance their win. BUT THEN gloat and belittle and brag when they honestly never were talented for that right. 🤷♂️

to be fair, unless she was cheating, she didnt know which killer you choose, could as well have been freddy.
But it seems unfair to rant about suvivors not acting on things they are not supposed to know...

I had this yesterday 3 times in a row with only 2 keys but strong items and ormond/coldwind map offerings overall. I don't use moris at all but i was considering doing it after these guys had to bring in all their strongest stuff (styptic, bnp, etc.) and me having a bad day. I didn't do it and you know why? If i bring a mori they "randomly vanish" during the loading screen. Bringing the strongest stuff in is okay but then a mori is unfair.
I know this also wouldn't have been right because i might get a normal group, but i can understand these killers sometimes, that bring their strongest stuff because of some wanna bes that think they are the greatest if they bring all that stuff and their OoO.
I really hope the devs are going to fix moris and keys soon or the player base stops beeing so egoistic. Second is as likely as finding the yeti, so i hope for the first one.

It says that ward is cancelled by four identical offerings.

I had a similar experience the other day. Ormond offering, Key, 2 flashlights and a medkit. How lucky I was having chosen Legion with only their own perks.... 3 get out t 1 gen. Of course they felt the need to talk shoot post game. It´s those groups that drive players to do all the stuff Survivors don´t want, namely playing efficiently and ignoring the rulebook.

Theres nothing wrong with using certein things in the game.

LOL but i dont play killer. Here is a fun fact; people can have differing opinions and still be on the same "side" in life.
I see you also watched the Scott vid.
I don't feel like keys are nearly as offensive, they can be bad, yes, and should be looked at. But the actual impact a key has, considering the time it can take for it to even be used is wayyy more restrictive than a mori's, which is funny given how a signle mori is rare yet keys are very/ultra rare.
The people who act like the 3-4 man escape with a key is a common occurrence are lying.

Guess we can't bring offerings anymore

That's... Completely off-topic.
But ok bud for trying to start the "you're complaining about X? Then I'll complain about Y on the opposite side."

Hey... I hate Ormond but actually got a 4K using Spooky Myers (Scratch Mirror and Boyfriend's Memo) the other day. I was so proud.
1 -
That's true but in a discussion about keys expect people to bring up moisture as both are game breaking.

I won't get into the key discussion, I never bring them myself.
However, why would OP - actually anyone who plays dbd - complain about maps? Whenever survivors - myself included - use maps, they almost never equip the aura-sensing add-on that enables it for the rest of the team. The beam add-on tends to be even more of a hindrance in my opinion because of the sound it makes.
Also, killers should be happy about maps being brought in instead of keys, medkits and flashlights, as maps are literally the only item available that does not provide a semblance of a second-chance to survivors. Additionally, actively searching for totems with a map from the start is not optimal either in instances of red-ranked killers and survivors. I can't recall off the top of my head if the max default range is for a rainbow map is any different, but if both aura-extending stamp add-ons are equipped (going by the "everything stacks unless specifically stated that it doesn't" rule,) and using green map's range as base, the total aura range goes up to 28m.
Running (walking/crouching would be even more time consuming) towards a totem 20 meters away specifically to cleanse it, without having a nearby generator to work on afterwards, is typically a sub-optimal early-game play. Do gens, stay on the move, engage the killer etc. you will not only help advance your primary goal but also sense way more auras this way.
Whenever I bring a rainbow map - a thing I have not done in a very long time, possibly since the 5 cleansed totems challenge from the previous rift - my play is significantly sub-optimal because its hard not to force going for some of those totems that are oh so close to where I am. Nevertheless, killers should be happy about this behavior, instead of complaining.

I'm from so cal and I typed to fast but thank you here a fix
(what worry me is that hatch offering, is that still a thing is that still happening?)
people were talking about that offering it in the ptb which I'm not playing it

Week there's two hatch offerings, one for killer shack and one for the main building. It just ups the chances of it spawning in that spot. I don't understand what's to worry.

I hate to break your argument but he meant map OFFERINGS
Edit: Like Ormond or Badham.

keys and people knowing where is going to spawn this going to be hell, why they adding all these new offering anyways.

Keys are just a backup plan for when things go horribly for me as a Survivor.
1 -
Moris also have a requirement. You still have to chase and hook them and then down them again.
As a survivor you COULD do nithibg and just hide all the match and still escape.
Both are same powerfull and unfair and both needs changes.
Also this thread was about Keys, so if you want to complain make a own thread and get outta here.

Just had a game as Demogorgon against a SWF who brought a map offering. Spoilers, it was Ormond, shocking, right? Still a fun game because I gained 5 tokens on my Devour Hope and mori'd them all. That's what you get if you t-bag, swf, sweat and go to Ormond.

I don't agree with ego and toxicity, but bringing a key and map offering right now could be due to the "escape as the obsession" challenge.

I had a Meg burn a Backwater Swamp offering when she had a key. No one ever found the hatch and we got out through the exit gates after the killer left one gen after he got tired of patrolling because there was no progress on any of them.
It really depends on the map offering burned, but I can appreciate your rant regardless.

I think keys are always annoying, but then I think the same thing about moris.
But yeah, it's totally different when a 4 man SWF brings a key and stop doing gens the moment the hatch spawns to get their free key escape. There's nothing you can do about this short of masterminding the game to keep gens up and survivors alive so that the hatch never spawns, which is not always feasible.
And of course they're usually going to tbag you at the hatch, because we all know that not doing OBJ is the truest measure of skill. I guess they're just the better players.
I'm trying not to sound bitter, because it's easy enough to roll your eyes and move on to the next match, but hot D*** do survivors love tbagging at the hatch. It's been happening all the time since crossplay and I just don't know what they think they're proving.

I never play with keys or flashlights when on killer role. However one flashlight is okay. It's their cheapest way to win and those items are just annoying.

As someone who predominantly played solo survivor until I got some friends to pick up the game, I sympathize with others who bring the key as a back-up plan for when things hit the fan. I believe that is what the devs had intended their use to be.
It is just unfortunate that some flaunt their key in the killer's face, and mistake a hatch escape for skill.

these offering only cancel map offerings or any offering? because this be a nerf to mori.
