New and anxious

Hi :)

I started playing a week ago after my brother asked me for years. I absolutely love the game so much fun however I get super anxious and nervous for letting my teammates down. I think its a girl thing.

I usually RPGs and Wildhunt + DLCs are my absolute favourites <3

Just know that there are new players out there that could get super sad if "yelled" at.

Oki take care!!

This game is full of toxic survivors so don't feel bad when letting your down but you should try to be helpful to your team.

Welcome to the game, girl! I hope you get lucky and never have to deal with teammates going berserk on you in chat, but fair warning... it DOES usually happen. Most of the time if you try your best to not sandbag, do objectives, safely unhook, etc., even if you do it poorly, as long as your effort shows most people will be nice. Turn off your post game chat if you feel like you're gonna see some rude messages post game, though! Most people are polite in their criticism after game (and if you're interested in getting better, reading their advice/critique of how you play can actually be helpful) but yeah, like I said, there are plenty of jerks who will be rude. It's like that in a lot of games and DBD is no different, unfortunately.

    Welcome to the game!

You'll need to brace yourself as people will inevitably yell at you or call you names. Just don't take any of it to heart and brush it off as with any online game, there's just a lot of it here. It's all just words and people get caught up in the moment.

There's alot of toxic killers in this game, they tunnel, slug and camp u to death, i don't want to put u off, i just want to let u know what u could be in for on this game.

U're new so don't worry, practice is what it takes, u'll learn like the rest of us have how to adapt to each killer/survivor gameplay.

    Good luck <3

The only way to avoid being simp is being gay male.

Girls still can be simps, if they are simping for other girls.

    So yeah.

    Simp.

The only way you let down your teammates is by disconnecting early. Even if you go down early, the time it takes for killer to carry and hook you is so precious for the other survivors working on gens and increases likelihood of them escaping...even though you don't.

Welcome to the game, just know everyone gets mad at everything all the time ok? Don't get mad if they do, it's just a game, but some people are ultra entitled

I'm straight, have a boyfriend, and am capable of being kind to fellow ladies. If you have an issue with women, just say so and go LOL

This is why I always give hatch to survivors who seem to be new at the game.

I also chill at the start of those games if I know that they are newbies. Don't want to discourage them.

I just want to warn you about something: you'll have to endure a looot of toxicity. But it's worth it, eventually you'll get used to it and you'll start ignoring those comments.

Regarding your "anxiety" and "nervousness" problems during the game, don't worry. At the start of the game, at low ranks, killers are stronger than survivors. Mainly because when both sides lack of experience, it's easier for killers to win, because survivors don't know how to split up, loop, evade the killer...etc.

Once you get more experience at the game, you'll no longer get anxious believe me.

DbD it's a "weird" game at the start, but give it time.

Also, always remember to keep your end game chats clear of toxicity with a gg.

Welcome to the community, if you want to ask something or you have doubts about the game, you want to just have a discussion about something...you always can come here.

    See ya!

it wasn't an insult, and never meant to be percieved as such, but whatever...

Oh gosh, I figured there was a small chance that your second reply could have been at least a partial joke, but considering how snotty a majority of the people on this forum can be out of nowhere, I wasn't really banking on that LOL, especially since you're not even close to being the first person to have assumed I was a guy (unsurprisingly, considering it is a male dominated community! :) ) and that I was acting too sweet or warm (or "thirsty") to a woman, when in reality I'm just happy to encourage/connect with another girl in a sea of dudes LMFAO

If that's the case, my apologies for getting testy immediately, but it should be somewhat understandable on my part! I don't like to snap but every few replies like that I just go "ok THAT'S IT!" LOL

Wishing you the best. It is a super fun game and I hope that you can find enjoyment. Don't let the toxic players get you down. Play how you would like and good luck in the fog.

    :D

No need to apologize lol, just felt like memeing bc thread looks lighthearted enough.))

    Have a good day anyways!

<3 all good! Glad we had a nontoxic end to something that I thought would be toxic LOL

You have a good day, too, king!

it just how the game is the toxic people on both sides sometime think survivors are more toxic tho.

Exactly, wanting to encourage new players into the game is not "simp".

I'm male, and straight, have no girlfriend at the moment, but doesn't mean I'm "simping" just by posting a long comment to her.

This is a really toxic game when you get into its core, but also really fun and complex if you go to high levels. You can learn a lot.

I just wanted to make a nice and a little bit crafted comment to encourage this new person just that. Because not everybody is toxic in this community.

If you're new, you should only be getting matched with other new players. And even if you're not... Well, it's pretty unreasonable to expect someone that just started to know every perk, killer, tile, map and stratagey like the back of their hand.

Just listing all those things makes me realise how much I have invested into learning DbD. Damn. I may have a problem.

Welcome to the emotional rollercoaster known as Dead By Daylight! The best advice I can give you is to play however makes you happy and have the most fun, everyone makes mistakes even the best of the best at this game so don't take it to heart when you mess up or people get upset , this is just a game that captivates people so much that they get a little carried away at times, if you're on console turn messages from non friends off for a better experience then once you get used to the game and enjoy the salt being thrown you can bathe in it and save a pinch for your morning coffee for that extra taste of survivor/killer tears.

That's not a girl thing, there is no such thing as girl things, or at least not many things. I was like that in the beginning as well as many dudes i know, you get used to it, trust me :)

Disclaimer: if you are here to wish MysticSheRa the best of luck and show her some love, instead of ranting about "simps", then go ahead and ignore this message. Thank you ❤️

Aight, straight boy-man-person. Greetings! I'm gonna write this once and I hope that interested people will read it, before starting to chew this misinterpreted bs again in this thread anymore for literally no reason whatsoever, bc it's tiring.

That was a joke. And I fail to get in what world it should be explained that it actually is a joke, and not an insult of any kind.

If you spend at least some time in the internet meme community, you would most likely know that the term "simp" has lost its core meaning a long time ago and since became a running meme, which is used anytime a person (literally anyone) is being nice towards a girl in any way. Literally any way. Even just saying "hi" counts. But that is the point. That is the joke. It is absurd sarcastic humor, but still a humor. And it's sad that most people see only their understanding of "humor", ignoring everything else and refusing to understand other people, before jumping to conclusions and ranting about how "wrong" those other people are. Ranting about something that isn't even there. Bruh moment indeed.

And if you actually just want to make a nice comment, without any intention of getting affection points, I don't see how you should even care at all about "simp" comment. Moreover, if it wasn't even addressed to you.

You legit made me laugh now with the whole situation.

    It's a draw.

I say enjoy the anxiety while you can. Eventually it goes away because you've seen it and done it already and in my opinion, the game becomes less fun.
