Get off my totem.
I just want to clarify, if you’re on a totem, and survivor runs up behind you and spams come here and shakes their character side to side, here’s an idea for you. Give them the totem. They will probably have inner strength. So i mean if they’re healthy, they can help you. They can save you in the future. If you get my totem after i ask, i’ll be less inclined to get you.

But points 😢

How about you go to SWF, cause if I'm solo, how do you know I'm not running "inner strenght" too?
12 -
Yeah i don’t do swf kinda ruins the game
3 -
Ok, then the second argument, cause I'm sorry tot ell you, any decent surv who plays solo does NOT use Self Care, we use the best self healing perk, Inner Strenght, and now we have a problem, cause I want the totem too, and if you beat me to one, that doesn't change the fact that I like to play hero, you taking my totem doesn't make me want to save you less, but well, that's just my game style
4 -
I barely see inner strength, infact all the people that stole my totems today had no inner strength.

I mean ya could always find another totem, there are 5 after all, part of the reason Inner Strength gets worse the more people use it.

This content has been removed.

But then i have to run around the map to find a totem, usually takes like 20 seconds and that’s a quarter of a gen.

The sheer number of times I have been sandbagged by people doing this is insane. Just leave, go do a gen, and don't get mad just because I cleansed a totem and proceed to genuinely sandbag me because I didn't give it to you.
More than one person can run the same perk.
2 -
True, then you get the choice of the safer yet slower going for a totem, or the quicker and riskier going straight to a gen. It's a kind of balancing act.

I tend to disagree with a lot of your opinions from both killer and survivor standpoints I've noticed, but on this we agree.

20 seconds to find a totem. 12 or 14 to cleanse it. 8 to heal in a locker. Just use self care. Less time spent. Unless sloppy
2 -
I don’t sandbag, but i will give you a death glare
6 -
So you'll throw the game simply because someone didn't give you a totem?
1 -
Did i say that?
0 -
Not directly, but the 'I'll be less inclined to get you' kinda makes it seem that way, maybe 'I'll be in a better position to help you' would be better wording.
1 -
Yeah that’s what i meant, if i can heal myself, i can more successfully save you.
0 -
You did: "If you get my totem after i ask, i’ll be less inclined to get you."
1 -
Actually with that much time searching for a totem, Self Care with Sloppy is still better. 20 + 14 + 8 = 42 vs 16 * 2 * 1.2 = 38.4
In fact, Inner Strength is only better than Self Care if you find the Totem in 10s or less. 16.4 if Sloppy is in play.
More fun facts... the first Inner Strength heal takes 28 Seconds vs Thrill of the Hunt which is only 4s faster than Self Care's 32s.

This thread in a nutshell is why I think Inner Strength is overrated. It makes a lot of sense in a SWF when you can coordinate, but without being able to coordinate it becomes really inconsistent. Maps like Backwater Swamp, teammates, Haunted Grounds, etc. can all make cleansing totems difficult and/or risky, and you can end up wasting a whole lot of time looking for totems instead of doing gens if you're not careful.
1 -
I run inner strength with detectives hunch now and again so I can find totems quickly.
If you have trouble finding other totems like your posts suggests I would try this perk or small game till you get used to where the spawns are.
Boldness points from totems and the risk of NOED means they are fair game for all.
5 -
What if the totem is haunted grounds? Do you rly want to be responsible for that kinda thing?
0 -
No, whoever gets it first keeps it.
3 -
But what if I have inner strength too? Then what, NANCY?
2 -
Also, what if he also has inner strength?
2 -
Please, use self-care at high ranks.
Killers will love you.
1 -
this why I still run Self Care,Inner Strength is good but there only 5 totem and at some point it run out
only use Self Care as back up if survivor don't want to heal me which happens a lot.
1 -
Inner Strength does have one other minor benefit, it avoids being seen by Nurse’s Calling which is a fairly popular killer perk.
1 -
Also counters Thana and sloppy butcher.
1 -
Exactly . My old build was Q&Q, Detective's Hunch, Inner Strength, and Spine Chill. Even without Inner Strength I still usually run Detective's Hunch. I cleanse every totem I find. Noed isn't going to proc in my game.

Ok.
*Loads up with Self Care, Botany, Green Medkit with charge add ons, and Made To Last*

Counter argument: Run small game and find the other totems. There are 5 to choose from.
1 -
"Get off MY totem"... "get out MY lobby' we don't need teammates with that kind of attitude. How to go know they aren't doing something for the rift or they themselves are running inner strength. There are 5 totems on the map go and find another one.
If im on a totem or all sides of a three seater gen are occupied and the 4th survivor is trying to get someone off it so THEY can do it. I am far less inclined to do as they ask, its not our fault you weren't fast enough.
Go and take a long hard look in the mirror and rethink your life.
3 -
Yeah, I get those in-game requests for survivors an give em the cleanse.
Same can go for chests as often I find ppl wanting to search as I’m searching, so I let them have at it... they almost always have Ace In The Hole.
That happened 3 weeks ago with a Quinten & he found a pink key & we got the hatch.

Yes, because it could be something like Devour Hope for all I know.
0 -
This is why if it glows, it goes. Could be Haunted. Could be Devour. One minute of expose vs expose until you manage to find the totem again and assuming the killer isn't in position to defend it. (Had a Deathslinger last night in good position with a 3-gen to defend his ruin. It eventually went, and we got the gens done, and 3 of us escaped. He had NoED too, which is why he got the fourth who was on their last hook)

Never said i run self care, just that the op was complaining about time in finding another totem.
Yes avoiding nurses calling is the biggest upside to inner strength but in a pure time wasting sense, often inner strength is worse than self care. Both take you out of the game for a long period of time period of time.
That being said i do like inner strength as i normally do bones anyway. Also i run quick and quiet and head on so theres been quite a few times that ive been in a chase and gotten injured. Jumped in a locker and killer lost me long enough to heal before taking a stun and starting the chase over.
1 -
Any decent survivor uses self care. No one has time to find a totem then run to a locker.
0 -
I hope this is a joke... it is, right?
1 -
The best healing perk is Bond....if someone is on your totem, just get them to heal you...
1 -
Not many people use inner strength anymore. I'm good at losing the killer but sometimes I'll get hit first. I don't want to rely on my team healing me every time when there's no more totems left. I just run botany and my healing is extremely fast.

I mean when some rift challenges have you cleansing totems of course you're gonna run into people not wanting to give up totems.
