Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

So, what's the point of Ranks anymore with MMR?

I have been a red rank killer and red rank survivor. I enjoyed rank reset because I liked playing meme builds, etc. Thinking about MMR, ranks have no meaning. I should assume that I need strong builds going into a game because I suspect I have a high MMR (With MMR hidden, who knows).

A hybrid system would be nice. Pair purple rank killers with high MMR to purple rank survivors with high MMR but keep the ranks a factor in the matchmaking system. I.e., players should move up during the seasons and resets should mean something.

I assume rank reset also resets mmr to some degree because it would become infinity impossible to reach rank 1 if mmr didn't reset. Say rank resets and you are now rank 5 but your mmr is still high, the games would be as hard as when you were rank 1. As your mmr gets higher, the harder it is to reach rank 1.

Mmr doesn’t reset. Ranks are only bragging rights until the BP bonuses come out once it’s in control again.

Is the mmr thing even out? Last i heard it was disabled because of some issues with it.

It’s still running but not determining matches.

Ranks mean nothing with the MMR system in place.

It should have been ditched when the system was implemented into the game.

There would have been a lot less confusion that way. But nooo. That's a bit to forward thinking.
